Which would you rather have for near future?

    1) Antonio + Firmino + Rondon
    2) Snodgrass + Firmino + Rondon (-4)
    3) Snodgrass + Mane + Rondon(-4)
    4) Antonio + Firmino + Deeney (-4)

    Currently thinking 4...

3 easily. Mane will get a haul soon and Firmino just got points so won't get them again. Also snoddgrass looks like getting points during hulls great fixtures

"Firmino just got points so won't get them again"... lol, it's not like they purposely rotate who get points.

    Pickford Jaku
    Bellerin Coleman Evans (Britos, Amat)
    Sanchez Mane Sterling Antonio Capoue
    Aguero Lukaku (Diomande)
    2FT 0ITB

    A) Stick with 3-5-2 and use 1FT on Antonio to ?
    B) Stick with 3-5-2 and use 2FT Antonio -> Son/Walcott and find the £
    C) Go to a 3-4-3 and do Antonio and Diomande -> Deeney + Allen/4.3

I would not do it for a hit. I also have Jaku/Pickford and maybe my best transfer would be Jaku to Grant, would also give me 0.1 more and could ride the Deeney price rise. Thinking Rashford deserves the next 2 games but Zeor shots v Stoke is a worry

Your team looks good but you shoud upgrade 1 defender. I have Stearling and I woudnt sell him normaly, but in your case it woud be a good move to get in a cheaper midfielder (Son/Walcott) then use the money to upgrade a defender. If you can try to bring in a Arsenal defender.

I'd stay away from VVD given the fixtures. McAuley+Sterling for Leicester defender+Son/Walcott is what i'd go for.

I've just seen on BBC news an article about a guy who has run a full marathon every day for the last 401 days, all for charity.

What i would like to know is, why do professional footballers, who get paid in excess of £100k per week, get too tired to play more than two games per week?

Squad rotation? Players should be made to earn their money!

Because playing football is a) more technically difficult than running a marathon and b) requires short bursts of intense sprints.

That guy might run a marathon a day but he'd be awful at football after the second one. There's certainly be enough of a drop off for an opposition team who are rested to gain the upper hand.

      It's sports science, not laziness.

    3. A.T
      • 15 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

Players are quite capable of playing every day. If you want them to perform at their best they need rest. Simple as that.

    4. JJO
      • 13 Years
      9 years, 3 months ago

Well its 'just' 42 kms running forward/straight in same tempo
That guy is doing great thing, but not sure he is trying to do it in some recird time,he is probably just running like Forest Gump
In professional football its different, you use so much more of your body, every part basically, more energy, its more intense...
Well Im sure your body is much more damaged after those 95mins than after those 150-180 mins running marathon..
And the main thing is..i dont think they are just tired, they are more injury prone, especially when tired..so they have to rest their body to prevent injuries..they could easily run those 42kms on that day,but you cant play games without consequencies

    5. sully29
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Plus that guy didn't have opponents hacking at his legs as he was running the marathon either.

Which one is the better option?

    A)Vertonghen, Sterling, Austin

    B) Mustafi, Walcott, Wilson

I already own Sanchez & Aguero so it's a double up. ML leader owns Walcott but not Sterling. (A) leaves me with 0.0 ITB hence I could not get Wilson(6.4) and have to get Austin(6.3). This is purely for ML not OR as I'm playing GW19 cash out so things start to get a bit serious now 12 weeks left.

Would really appreciate your thoughts and some help to win me £! Thanks.

I'm happy with my squad (barring injuries), but have 2 FT.

Planning on doing Jaku --> Grant and playing him over Pickford in the next 3.

Question is, although this move saves me wasting a FT. Is it unwise to do a keeper transfer which still leaves me a combo which might need to be fixed again before 2nd WC?

In my head, it's fine, as saves wasting a FT & Pickford might not lose his place to Manone anyway.
