This morning we reveal the qualifiers and the first round draws for both our Fantasy Premier League cup competitions. This follows the qualification rounds which took place in Gameweek 29.

Over in the open-to-all cup, 505 managers join former winners donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Mch, Wild Rover and our reigning champion A Manager With No Name, along with myself, in this first knock-out round of the competition, which takes place over Gameweek 30.

The qualifying cut-off score for this cup was a demanding 80 points, with rank deciding entry for those who scored exactly that tally in Gameweek 29; you had to be placed in 4,276th spot or better if you scored 80 points.

A scan of the draw reveals that the current champion will immediately have it all to do if he is to regain the crown; Ranked at 34,806 in the world, “A Manager Has No Name” has been drawn with “Flying Nugget”, an opponent placed some 32,205 places above him in the overall standings.

MCH and Gribude are other former winners that look set to be tested in the opening round. The latter has drawn “themightydave“, a manager currently placed a very respectable 13,095 in the world, while MCH faces an even sterner test, up against the “upthemiddle” who is placed 9,207 in the world.

Meanwhile, the top ranked manager in the tournament – “Hana” who is 47th – is part of a opening round glamour tie: their opponent Ginola 14 is placed 8,439 and will smell a giant killing.

The full first round draw can be found here.

Meanwhile, over in the Members Cup, we have 510 managers joining two former winners in the first round as Fuzzy Dunlop and Trigg gain byes.

The qualifying score was 75 points: you had to be ranked 88,995 or better if you scored that tally.

The full first round draw can be found here.

Billy Ketsu, as the leader of our FFS Members League, is the top ranked manager in the tournament – they are currently placed 39th in the world and in the mix for the FPL crown. Emckay is the unfortunate FPL manager who has the task of facing the high-flyer in the opening round.

Elsewhere, we have to spare a thought for “Fat B*d“. Placed a lofty 3,305 in the world, they have somehow managed to draw higher ranked opponents in both competitions. They will face our very own moderator Spencer – ranked 3166 – in this cup, while over in the open-to-all version, they take on Vice – ranked 2537 in the world.

FFS Cups Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 29

Round 1 – 512 teams – Gameweek 30
Round 2 – 256 teams – Gameweek 31
Round 3 – 128 teams – Gameweek 32
Round 4 – 64 teams – Gameweek 33
Round 5 – 32 teams – Gameweek 34
Round 6 – 16 teams – Gameweek 35
Quarter-Final – 8 teams – Gameweek 36
Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 37
Final and third place play-off – 2 teams – Gameweek 38

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Certainly an option. Tempted by Antonio to Tadic and Llorente to Vardy.

Due to other commitments we've got an early scoutcast planned next week.

Looking at next Monday 9:30pm - with a focus on GWK 31 which kicks off the next evening.

team was a mess and want to use it throughout as many weeks as possible, rather than just a couple of weeks that a 35/36 WC would give

      1. Shah G
        • 12 Years
        8 years, 8 months ago

If you have planned accordingly and not hit hard with injuries then you can easily survive till 36 with a hit here n there n set yourself up for double34 and possible double35.. I was looking to WC last week BUT to maximise BB37 WC36 is very ideal so I took -16 instead..

Had no option but to WC this week due to injuries.

    DDG, Pickford
    Yoshi, Valencia, Fabio, Luiz, Vertonghen
Alli, Sanchez, Pedro, Siggy, de Roon
    Vardy, Lukaku, Negredo

1.4ITB to do Siggy + Vardy ➡ Redmond/King + Ibra for the DGW.

    Am I missing anything?

    1. SWANCK
      • 8 Years
      8 years, 8 months ago

      Any room for Alonso?

Also I don't like Negredo in there, that's a future transfer you shouldn't need to make.

      1. Cesc Pistols
        • 12 Years
        8 years, 8 months ago

Went Luiz over Alonso as he's quite pricey right now.

I don't like Negredo either, but it's a coin toss between him, Llorente or anyone else in that price bracket (I'd prefer Gabbi, if he was fit). Went with him due to the fact he's got a quite nice DGW.

        1. SWANCK
          • 8 Years

Negredo is the weak link and

Have a think about how you'll remove all the Boro players from here on out, and maybe also factor in Man City's amazing run towards the end of the season, but that's a really good start. Can you afford Llorente or Deeney? I'd prefer them to Negredo. You can work toward the dgw in other ways.. don't like expensive DDG so I'd be tempted to put a cheap playing backup like Jaku there instead and save that money to do your gw34 move... 3 Boro plus Ibra Valencia enough!

  23. SWANCK

    A) Coleman > Alonso

    45 points behind ML leader:
    Is it better to
    A) take the safe option and play King (ML leader has him)
    B) take the risky option and play Llorente in a bid to gain ground, but risk falling further behind if he scores less than King
