Everton’s stuttering season, with a constant struggle in front of goal, has done little to boost the reputation of their Fantasy assets. While Tim Cahill and Louis Saha continue to frustrate with sporadic appearances and fragile form, Leon Osman has slowly emerged as a worthy Fantasy prospect on the eve of a double fixture in gameweek 20.

While the pace and direct running of Royston Drenthe has garnered most of the attention around Goodison Park recently, Osman has been quietly been going about his business. He has yielded double figure returns in two of the last three weeks and averages 8.66 points a game in that time. Osman’s recent goal scoring performances against Norwich and Swansea were both awarded maximum FPL bonus points – he is now Everton’s leading player in this area. A rather dubious assist for Leighton Baines’ penalty at Sunderland saw Osman’s returns continue to flow, and he goes into the double gameweek fixtures with Bolton and Spurs as David Moyes’ in-form attacking player.

At times, the diminutive midfielder has been in and out of Moyes’ lineup, but recent performances have cemented a starting role. Osman has played on the left of midfield, or up in support of a lone striker. This versatility, coupled with injuries and a lack of form elsewhere in the squad, should see him nailed-on for the forthcoming fixtures.

Drenthe is undoubtedly the explosive option in the Everton midfield, and with a price difference of 0.8, there are factors in favour of the Dutchman. Osman’s form is eye-catching however and, with Drenthe failing to complete 90 minutes in his last three starts, Osman appears to be the more secure and consistent choice.

What strikers do you get? I've got Ade and Van Persie but who else is there too get?

    Rooney - too deep?
Aguero - Subbed off, rotation risk?

    Who!?!?

It's going to be tricky to say definitely VDV's effort would have gone wide, so I reckon it'll stay as it is

BTW, Will that BAE assist stay on the VDV goal?

It was heading out until that swansea player flicked it on (thereby altering its path).

maybe i'm misunderstanding. are we saying vdw's shot was going wide, then deflected in. or was the cross deflected while outsife box?

BAE didn't really assist in the goal as the ball was heading away from the goal until it was Intercepted and its direction changed towards the goal by that Swansea player Allen who flicked it on.

Also it was deflected off Williams back when VDV shot.

The assist could be taken away... just putting it out there.

dont think it matters. look at adams assist yesterday for instance. a guy can clear the ball between assistor and goalscorer

My interpretation of the rules is that BAE got the assist as he was the last player from the goal scoring team to touch the ball in the box. If he was outside the box it would be a different story...

"Assists are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team, who makes the last touch before the goal is scored.

If after this touch, an opposing player touches the ball outside the penalty area altering the intended destination of the ball, then no assist is given, except if this intervention directly results in an own goal."

        Is Cahill worth considering though?
He's had a crappy season returning from injury, but paddy power have him at 6/4 to score against bolton. Is there reason to look at him twice, or are paddy just offering poor returns for an unlikely bet?

Think it's worth a hit to bring an Everton defender in for Brown?

    Or play Enrique?
