Swansea’s fine 3-2 win over Arsenal concludes the weekend action, leaving tomorrow evening’s clash between Wigan and City as the only unfinished business in the Gameweek. Time then, for us to extract the key statistics from our Members area and make a stab at the destination of the Fantasy Premier League bonus points…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Some of my relatives were flooded quite badly, so I did offered my place for a tempt shelter for them. Now they start with cleaning up and all the mess is crazy after the flood. But all are better now, just will take a while to get back to where we were. Thanks for your concern mate. 🙂

My only concern with Fletcher is that the villa game is a big derby and will be tight. Given also back in goal. Then they have livpool. That will also be tight.

Did anyone watch the Aston Villa - Everton game ... what did Cerian Clark look like, was he getting forward o polaying deeper mid-field? Thought he'd be a good differential if Villa start keeping cleanies, but am starting to suspect this might be a long shot. Thoughts?

I think most of the hype has been about the fact he's OOP in midfield, but if he's playing deep it's not really worth the bother because Villa are struggling to keep a clean-sheet. I'll give him 2 weeks to prove his mettle then change him out for Kompany.

    RMWCT proposal:

    Krul, Kenny
    Caulker, Simpson, Senderos/Brown/Clark, Enrique, Kompany
    Silva, Bale, Sessegnon, Sinclair, Moses
    RVP, Aguero, Sturridge

    team before WC changes:
    Krul, Cerny
    Caulker, Simpson, Smalling, Enrique, Kompany
    Silva, Bale, Donovan, Sinclair, Tiote
    RVP, Aguero, Sturridge

    thoughts much appreciated!

      so ...

      Kenny > Cerny
      Smalling > Senderos/Brown/Clark
      Tiote > Moses
      Donovan > Sessegnon

I'd say you could make do without those changes for a week or two ... the only change I'd make this week is Tiote out and Sess in. But if you need cash to get the players you want then it makes sense. Also ... Cerny, not sure about that choice!

I've already done Donovan--> Sessegnon to get the latter before his price rose

ideally, maybe I'd wait to the end of the window to see what else happens, but with 2 players definitely out (Kompany--suspension and Tiote--Africa Cup of Nations) my bench reinforcements are thin, possibly leaving my team a player or two short (including this current gameweek 21)

worth waiting, or do I make these changes now?

I suspect he'll start, would be most frustrating if he plays 45 mins for 1 point. I also need him to either start and rip it up, or sit the whole game out and get my Newcastle bench-warmer to replace him.

How about Woodgate as an alternative to Shotton?

He doesn't come off the bench like Shotton does, and starts whenever he is fit. Although that might be the catch with his fitness issues, but I see he hasn't been registered for Europa. That's some good news.

    Thoughts?

Rested? He has started whenever he has been fit. At 4.2, he can be a good 5th defender in your squad. I'm starting to think he is a better pick than Shotton with Europe looming and the unpredictability about him.

perhaps i was misinformed several months ago. after bringing him in and he didnt feature, I asked around why, and got multiple responses of how he doesnt have the stamina to start every game. that he regularly sits out every 3rd or 4th game.

unsure on Shotton game time. Dont think I would double on the Swans at the back anymore. Front 8 will give you some headaches on who to bench. You would have to rotate Sess and Fletcher I would imagine.

Morning all, be nice and give me your views on this dream team 🙂

    Lindegaard / Sorensen

    - Too risky? Both could get benched.
+ Gives me cheap access to Stoke defence (+ MU for gw23)

    Richards / Enrigue / R. Taylor / Simpson / Senderos

    - Is R.Taylor nailed on - propably not. Simpson plays 90 mins or not at all, R.Taylor can make a 20 cameo when they got whole team after ACON.
+ Good covers for possible rotation hit weekends.
? Is it really worth to keep Enrigue....

    Silva / Bale / Dempsey / Sessegnon / Walters
    RVP / Aguero / Sturridge

    - Difficult benching decisions (at least for next gw!)
+ Difficult benching decisions (ended this week with 9 men!)
? Do I really dare to go without Nani / Valencia until gw28...

Well this looked much nicer on word......

Downgrade an attacker, if you can find value in the bargain bin then take it rather than having extra funds sitting on your bench. Plenty of good options under 5 mil now.

        Thanks for reply man.
Let's say I'll downgrade Walters / Sess to McClean - what do I gain for that?

I think Dempsey is better bet than Nani for coming weeks. Silva and Bale are keepers, so is Sess atm. With that extra money, can't do much with sturrigde either.
Best thing I can think of is to get ShawX for defence, but can't see myself booting simpson who has been great value all season..

But you can't play them all. Sell one of them, you may not have any use for the cash now but it gives you flexibility.

I would do Walters > Moses/Dyer depending on how the rotation works out e.g. Moses at home to Everton in GW 24 while Dempsey is away to City.

these options are for my 3 normal defenders and 3 normal bench options:

Richards/Enrique/Raylor means bench of Kelly, De Laet, Surman --option A

Richards/Enrique/Shawcross means bench of Kelly, Caulker, Surman or Caulker, Santon, Ferguson(lol) ---options B1 and B2

Richards/Raylor/Shawcross means bench of Kelly, Caulker, Dyer ---option C

i know ferguson is instant ridicule, but a backline of city, pool, newcastle (all with assist potential), stoke and fulham may render a backup attacking option unnecessary.

Surprised Raylor's going under the radar.

5.2 mil for an OOP Newcastle defender. On FKs & could be on corners (depending on Cab's fitness)

What do you people reckon? Worth the extra 1 mil over a Simpson/Santon?

Is he still ahead of Santon at LB though? When Newcastle's other midfielders return, will R Taylor maintain his place in the starting line-up? Too many doubts.

Raylor played at RM in the last 2, where his only competitors are Obertan & Barfa, both of whom have been fit. Santon seems to be preferred at LB, yes.

      No-brainer: Cahill > Raylor

Alternatively, Cahill > Simpson and Walters > Moses. That gives you the cash for Fletcher > Sturridge/Ba when required and you're not losing much team wise.

Its not so much that, my 'never again' list implies those players that I bring in for certain game/periods who under perform so bad.

Tbh i don't want to have to deal with the will he won't he of Nani making big returns. Its too stress full, Torres and Defoe (albeit from previous seasons) fit into this too.

That would not be unprecedented. 😛

You can see my frustration though right? Brought him in after 16pt haul, nothing since. The week I decide to drop Silva and keep Nani, Silva gets 3 assists.

I mean Nani only played 68 mins, was he hauled off because he was poor?

this is why nani and silva need to just stay put in your squad. you could get lucky and move them in/out at the right times. or you can just take the good with the bad and at the end of the year have two of the top, if not THE two top scoring mids' points. still 9 other positions to tinker with. ok, 8 when you throw in rvp.

I am certainly making an effort to be more gradual with my team. The last two weeks I have forced myself to only do one transfer even though I have wanted to do more. I think i'm better for it.

Nani will stay for now, as Ade-->??? is my transfer this week. Which could mean he stay for the week prior to my WC. I mean I have to let Nani work his notice period before he goes right? 😀

I've also dropped silva prior to gw 21 with my WC. It's a chance I took with him being injured and facing Spurs/Eve in next 2.

Nani could have scored in first couple of seconds vs Bolton. I'm still happy having Nani/Rooney for Arsenal/Stoke.

Will swap one of them to Silva/Kun in gw 24. Im not bothered about the value lost on Silva.

Well I've been watching Torres very closely the last few weeks, and I've seen enough to warrant me being impressed. Inherent class, finding his touch, nice fixture this week means I brought him in for a one week punt before WC'ing.
Oh, did I mention he'll be my Captain this week too?
    *Archer voice* Yuuuuuuup.

lol I didn't say he would get 4 points! Just asked if you enjoyed 4 point captains!

I assume you do not 😉

            Touche 😉

I so hoped you would say he'd get 4 points. I fond the amount of points scored by a player is is inherently contingent on the amount of detractors he has. More naysayers= more points....

Ok, I've had it with Ramsey. He was woeful yesterday. Contemplating the below 4 pointer - thoughts?

Westwood & Ramsey -> Mignolet & Sess. Would then bench Ruddy, Wilko, Reo-Coker and Adebayor this week.

    Westwood, Ruddy
    BAE, JEvans, Simpson, Caulker, Wilkinson
    Nani, Bale, Dempsey, Ramsey, Reo-Coker
    RVP, Rooney, Adebayor

    Bank 0.2m

you insist on holding onto adebayor? i think between his form, spurs fixtures, you already have bale....4 point hits that involve keepers rarely pay dividends. Id downgrade ade and upgrade ramsey to justify the hit and just take 1 or 2 points from Ruddy. maybe a save point or two.

dont want to WC either i suppose?

Yeah losing Ade is an option, but having WIG next week is tempting me to hold on. I'll likely wildcard after that and get rid of him. 4 pointer hopefully gets repaid over the next 2 weeks....
