Swansea’s fine 3-2 win over Arsenal concludes the weekend action, leaving tomorrow evening’s clash between Wigan and City as the only unfinished business in the Gameweek. Time then, for us to extract the key statistics from our Members area and make a stab at the destination of the Fantasy Premier League bonus points…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Possible WC team..

    Hart, Ruddy
    Kompany, Jones, Shawcross, Williamson, Gabbidon
    Bale, Dempsey, Sess, Walters, Reo-Coker
    Rooney, Aguero, Studge

    Thoughts?

gabbidon to kelly, jones to brown, hart to krul, ruddy to someone better: maybe vorm, rooney to rvp and maybe upgrade reo-coker

just how I see it. if you plan on going the rest of the season without rvp and keeping rooney even through his tough fixtures, then i'd say just downgrade jones to brown and then gabbidon to senderos/kelly and then you can upgrade ruddy and possibly reo-coker

Zamora? Helguson? Bent? Double up on Liverpool forwards and bring Carroll in? 😀

If it wasn't for the penalty miss I'd agree with you but if he gets both stripped and lands on 0 with a fair few captains it's pretty damn funny.

But yeah keep the first one lose the second probably seems fair with the evidence presented so far.

I don't actually think either are really his. Welbeck does get a slight nick on the ball as far as I'm concerned, and Wheater on the second. And I say that with Rooney(c). If he keeps one I'd be happy.

Terrible squad for this gw, was planning wc wk24 but tempted to do it now. Not really sure this would help long run as this week is so hard to call.

    Krul (Vorm)
    Walker Enrique Shotton (Evans Boyata)
    Bale Gerrard Drenthe Valencia Dempsey
    RVP Sturridge (Ade)

Thinking of running with this, hoping for Walker attacking points and have two free transfers for wk 23 before wc week 24. Good plan or not? Ta

Does anyone else think RVP will get 2 bp? Opinion might be biased by captain choice =D but my reasoning is this: Being on the losing side might not play so important role, after all, Ramsey got 3 bp vs. Fulham having 3 shots on target (+the assist of course but anyways ahead of Fulham goalscorers). Dyer will get 3 bp but Sinclair & Graham only had 1 shot on target. RVP had 2 shots on target and 1 off target. I would guess shots on target have more positive effect than shots off target have negative. Soon we will see but I'm very confident!

I don't think so. Look at GW20 Bolton vs. Everton. N'gog & Cahill both got 1 goal and shared the 3 bp. Cahill had 2 shots on taget and none off. N'Gog had 3 on target and 3 off. If the shots off target had similar or more negative effect than shots on target have, he would have got less PPI than Cahill and 2 bp. But since they shared the 3 bp,his 3 shots on target must have had more positive effect than his 3 shots off target. Of course there is other stats that effect PPI but shots on/off target is the most important.

Rooney has been given 1 assist by Opta???

Has anyone checked whether Welbeck has an assist?

My thinking is if they have given the first one to Rooney then there is no consistency with the RVP incident earlier.

    a) Ramsey & Adebayor -> Sessegnon & Sturridge (leaves me 1.4m to do Wilko -> Dawson in GW23)
    b) Westwood & Ramsey -> Mignolet & Sessegnon

Both for a 4 point hit and I'm wildcarding in GW24.

    Westwood, Ruddy
    BAE, JEvans, Simpson, Caulker, Wilko
    Nani, Bale, Dempsey, Ramsey, Reo-Coker
    RVP, Rooney, Adebayor

Just looked at it again and you may be right, I didnt take into account it was for a hit sorry. There's only 1 week, GW3, where Ruddy has got minus points so he could get a couple. And Sturridge against Norwich could offset the hit if he starts. He better had as I have him as well. 🙂 Yeah, go for a) imo.

Either A or GW24...personally I think I'm going to keep Rooney and probably transfer Nani to Silva but I'm decided on it yet...very tough decision!

Not sure why Rooney keeping one assist would be a happy compromise? As a non owner with rivals who Capt him, I want him to lose both just as badly as they want him to keep both! 🙂

bad luck for you then. But it's not really a question of luck, if assist is given incorrectly, it has to be removed.

Disagree, I believe RVP's one was correct, and possibly the Welbeck one too - not seen a good view of it though.

We'll have to agree to disagree then Jack. Mate, I enjoy this game immensely, but this kind of stuff is a real negative. NRL Supercoach suffers from the same thing in regard to try assists, so I guess it's a like it or lump it situation...

🙄 Yes, he (Welbeck) does get a slight nick on the ball. Unfortunately. Opta have only given him one assist, so they were going to be reviewed regardless of this site.

          What influence is that?

ISM already ordered the Rooney assist to be reviewed before we'd even got wind of the situation. They received emails from users on it - just like every other issue. All I do is try to confirm what reviews are taking place and communicate back to our community that situations are being examined to prevent further influx of support emails to them. Helping them and communicating back to you.

And on another, important point, I'm the only one who has any level of communication with ISM/FPL - Granville's views are his own - not the Scouts, or mine. He's totally entitled to his opinion, as are you, but he has no influence on any decisions made by PA/ISM/FPL. They only way they'd know his view is if they came here to read it. The same applies to every contributor - they have their own voice. This is not the voice of FFS.

Finally, personally insulting another user - whether they be a moderator, contributor or not, is not on either.

Can I just say, as a non-Rooney owner and not having seen either goal but just going by the various posts over the last 15 hours or so, that different people see what happened differently. About 50-50 really for both goals.

So, surely when it comes down to it, no matter what opinion you have, it's how the Press Association interpret the situation, right or wrong, as they are the ones who decide the outcome. So while it's good to express an opinion, their decision is what counts at the end of the day.
