Manchester United’s 2-1 win at the Emirates appears to have come at some cost, with Phil Jones reportedly facing “weeks” on the sidelines as just one of several casualties.

Jones was forced off after 17 minutes of the Emirates clash with an apparent ankle injury and Sir Alex Ferguson’s post match comments suggest that he could now face several weeks on the sidelines…

“It’s not good news for us…I think Jones will be out for a few weeks – it’s ankle ligaments.”

Reports state that Jones will undergo scans on the injury on Monday, at which point we will hopefully gain a confirmed term of absence.

Jones has suffered a number of knocks and niggles in his first season at Old Trafford and another setback would seem likely to diminish his Fantasy ownership further. The former Blackburn man has suffered heavy sales following his recent layoff with a jaw injury and illness.

There are also further reported knocks in the United camp, with Ferguson confirming that Michael Carrick had sustained a hamstring problem which left him stricken in the closing stages of today’s victory.

The Daily Mail also reports that Nani left the stadium in a protective boot having suffered an injury which forced him off on 75 minutes. Wayne Rooney is also reported to have been struggling with a knock which left him limping from the field on the final whistle.

Should Nani and Rooney face a spell on the sidelines, it would seem likely trigger significant FPL sales. Nani’s blank at the Emirates was his fifth consecutive game without returns, while Rooney has also gone off the boil, fetching just two assists in his last four league appearances.

We await further confirmation of those injuries from Old Trafford, with further reports likely to surface in tomorrow’s press.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Why get McClean and not play him against Norwich? Drop Bent and get a good GW24 striker instead.

BTW if Cahill is nailed on for Chelsea then I feel sorry for them. I firmly believe that Bolton defence will significantly improve now that he's out.

Valencia seems to be the only Utd cover necessary offensively. Evans is piss cheap so be mad not to have him. 2 x Utd. Sorted.

Not turned on by either really. Doubling up on Utd defence is an option but not for me. Welbeck was lively today, but he will be rotated methinks sooner or later.

        Bake wasn't consistent last season, he went 2, 2, 18, 2, 2, 2, 6
Look at him this season 😉

Give Tony V a chance, he's in form, Nani and Young both have injury and form problems, Park is the other competition, he's staying in my team as my only united cover for their stiff fixtures

As a player he is very consistent, i meant as an FPL player. His best tally for Wigan was 3 goals 5 assists.

If Nani is injured, i probably will replace him with Valencia though.

I a low scoring Gameweek for most, i made the most epic fail and potential to cut my rivals lead over me 🙁 !

I traded Valencia, Ben Arfa and Dempsey out for Gerrard, Barton and Walters!
Was keen to get Gerrard in and captain him for what looked an easy fixture full of goals, and it failed terribly 🙁
This season sucks big time, i won my leagues last two seasons, yet this year i'm 200 points behind and chasing the fixtures just doesn't seem to work anymore and now i'm left with a crap team!

    Krul (Vorm)
    Senderos Simpson Dawson (Huth, Evans)
    Barton Sessegnon Bale Silva (Walters)
    Adebayor Aguero RVP(c)

Considering i WC'd the week before i am somewhat disappointed with myself 🙁 !

Wildcards are always dangerous things, you have a good chance of getting things wrong.

It's not a bad team, assuming you're getting rid of Dawson and Ade shortly after this week
Your midfield could be improved with a Dempsey or Valencia and a cheap mid instead of 3 mid price ones

him, Scott Parker and Bale take a lot of flack on these boards but they've all had stellar seasons.

Despite this, I think Bale is international and World Class quality. For me, Milner and Parker are not quite at that level needed to be nailed on for England.

Not for me, pal. Playing the likes of Spain, Germany, Brazil and Holland is a completely different level. Yes, have the work ethic but you need a creative dimension.

Milner and Parker lack this for me.

Another fail for the scout picks. Yes they got Dempo and Sessegnon right but the others were safe misfires. Always an average score. Can someone write a feature to determine if they beat the average score each week?

They were obvious! Wish FFS would just chuck in a gamble here and there. Everyone had their recommendations. Everyone. Throw a few punts into the mix, don't just have a separate differentials feature. Why bother with this site if it's going to be consistently generic. We need tips which show a bit of special foresight.

                Overall he's right.

Scout Picks do have certain picks which do well - just use common sense and pick the 2-3 that they correctly predict.

I beat their picks almost every week, but they do have the flip side of mentioning players I've been too hungover to check out, so it's all good.

So why not at least commit to a captain choice in the scout picks every week? Every week should culminate in a "this is what you do this week" feature. Build to it, make it exciting.

At the moment it's just "Walters Sessegnon Dempsey Silva Nani or some other form player we haven't name-checked..."
