You've got ridiculous (in a good way) midfielders and forwards at the expense of your bench and defense. Maybe try to spread the wealth.

Cheers, I agree my team is unbalanced but I've always been a fan of a cheap defense. Verm is probably only a short term solution. Will probably look to downgrade him and Valencia soon to find a better balance.

Cheers bud. Well I've been saying the same thing to most people, you can't hold all your value in your midfield and forwards. You could sell Dawson for Richards.. or you could ditch some dead weight up front and swap one of your cheap defenders for a solid one. That way you ride out Dawson's fixtures and keep him for the run in. You would also have more strength at the back for the rest of the season. As for what your dead weight is, that's a really hard decision this week, I would say one of Mata, Aguero or Dempsey.. but not an easy call. At least one if not all will not be scoring the next few weeks. There are good replacements available for any of them though.

Well if you look at my transfer decisions you'll see I've made some bad calls in the last while so take what I say with a pinch of salt. McClean would be nice to have after next GW, either Dempsey or Mata for him. Probably Mata but see how he does this GW. In the meantime you need to upgrade Caulker or Senderos. Who you replace them with would take me a lot of time to figure out. My own plan is to get some cash in the bank for a Rooney run that I think might be coming, Aguero is the obvious choice to sell if Rooney scores a few weeks in a row. ALL TRANSFERS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

im afraid to offer input after this week, but i guess when you fall off the horse you get back on, right?

i would expect utd CS odds to be better than QPR's or arsenals, but i guess you gotta go for the attacking potential of taiwo and verm over evans.

Yeah, Taiwo would be the one to swap out maybe. I haven't been too impressed with him to be honest so he could very easily come off for Evans. I'll wait till tomorrow to see if Suarez has his bite back and how Liverpool look in general before doing that.

I brought Verm in last GW and disappointed that arse didn't keep a CS and that he didn't score, so have to give him another week I guess before re-evaluating. May very well do Verm --> Richards after this week in time for their home fixtures vs bol & bla.

And I expect Morison to be back starting but my heart is with Sigurdsson though!

I think it looks fine. QPR are still a bit ropey at the back and B'burn always seem to score, even when they get hammered. So I'd consider JEvans over Taiwo (Pool can be very wayward in fronty oif goal) but it's very much a judgement call

ahhh, the joy of settling in to work on monday following a nightmare fantasy weekend. As i make coffee and get my medication ready, perhaps the dead zone would address this gw's dilemma?

If i make no transfers, my optimal XI would be:

    Sorensen (XLindyX)

    Richards, Verm, Senderos(inj?)

    Silva, Bale, Dempsey, Sessegnon, Dyer

    RVP, Aguero

(Santon, XHuthX, XD'GerbilX) 1 FT, .3 in bank

Dyer home to norwich isnt a bad punt at all, and if senderos is ok, im content with the back 3. Naturally im open to 4 point hit suggestions but wondering if i can skate by with just the FT. Im completely prepared to lose value by either holding a current RC player or waiting till after TOT game to get Ba in without a hit, though he will be .6 more than he would have been had i not been such an idiot.

    ideas:

Lindy->Bogdan or Hennessey. Better option than Sorensen this gw? Any reason to give Bolton a little credit at the Reebok? This week (WIG) and GW28 (QPR) would be when Id use him and would buy me time to dump him or sorensen for a REAL keeper. Hennessey has (WBA) and (BLA) those weeks.

Cisse->Zamora. this is the only cisse replacement i'd consider w/o a hit. i have no idea if/when cisse may drop in price? anyone else know? this moves means no ba for a while.

Verm->4.5 defender. Evans? This is the move i think is best if huth ban is lifted. Frees up money for ba the following week and frees up money for a keeper.

Dyer->Sigurdsson. Ignore all my problems and make the strongest upgrade to my actual starting team this week.

If ban isnt lifted, Huth->Caulker, Kelly? Super cheap defender needed that can start this week and free up money for ba.

i feel like even though it will cost me .3, maybe .4 to wait on ba, to bring him in for a hit, away to my club, when i have a decent option like dyer is a recipe for disaster.

    tell me what to do!!!!!

since i have to make 2 next week to get ba, and it will likely mean downgrading verm, should i downgrade verm now to the defender i want, someone at 4.5ish with CS potential.

Only thing is you might feel a bit silly swapping Dyer for Siggy if Dyer got the only goal and 3 bp for example. Dyer is tempting for me to play too next GW, But I have Graham up front and with Siggy I think Graham could get more chances now so he's worth keeping in the team for this GW anyway.

A 4 point hit, if you're comfortable with it.

Huth & Cisse ---> Ba & a 4.8m defender or less... Bardsley or Evans maybe?

Getting rid of Verm isn't an immediate priority. I'd be more comfortable playing Ba than Dyer. What do you think?

Sure but doubling up on Stoke's defense when you have an injured keeper perhaps isn't the best? I'm basing this off of ENR's consistent warnings against owning Stoke defenders with their busy schedules coming up! Get Verm out eventually but not this week. If not a 4 pt hit, then I think ENR's move below makes sense also.

Dyer>Sigs seems a little sideways to me. Also wait on the Huth appeal verdict before pulling the trigger there.

Cisse to Bobby Z seems the most sensible (boring) option to me.

Don't like any of the options you have to replace Lindy so I'd ride that one out just playing Sorenson until you can crete more funds for a REAL keeper.

I'm in a similar situation with Ba. I had exctly the right money to do Morison>Ba before Ba's price rise last night. Now I will wait until after the Tot game, pray he doesnt score again and downgrade somewhere to afford him

No I actually meant to say do both those transfers next week, since you have a good team this GW & no need to take unnecessary hits.

Definitely Fuz, Huth has gotta go! Stoke have a horrid schedule coming up, out of form at the moment and are lazy defenders against non-Top 6 oppositions.

The thing with Zamora now is QPR are pretty reliant on his goals for at least 3 games, or at least his creativity. The Cisse red card, while it killed the game for QPR and Zamora owners, it also means Zamora is a guaranteed starter now for 3 games and will have to work even harder perhaps to grind out a few results for his team. Do you like my logic here?

You weren't on this weekend but i think(i hope) ive come to the consensus of getting richards in for dawson. I was originally going for mata > silva. But mata's fixures at home are VERY favourable over the next few. Only problem is that he's -66% on FISO 🙁

you gotta love that mata haul!!!! You look good if senderos is ok. Dawson and reo-coker are the weak links. Im sure you view reo as cheap emergency bench fodder, but the .6 more for gylfi is looking too good to resist. If i didnt have so many problems id get gylfi in. Are you on 1 ft? Could be ok as is and wait next week for richards. ahh but getting gylfi means no richards. hmmm.

Verm at CB is a real option, but stuck at LB he doesn't seem to provide as much of an attacking threat, and ARS look way more leaky at the back with the lanky useless German prancing about.

You reckon I should offload Huth this week, or save the transfer and do a double in GW26?

            Schwarzer
            Kompany, Rangel, Caulker
            Silva, Bale, Dempsey, Siggs

You have a solid team this week, J'wick. Unless Huth's price is dropping, you don't need to. Though I'd be tempted to get Evans in and play him ahead of Caulker.

if the appeal system is an effective one, i would say yes. No way was that ever a red, it already cost stoke that game, they cant be punished for 3 more.

To be fair the Huth sending off was very harsh and no doubt affected the result of the game. It could easily have been a 0-0 (or hell Huth could even have nicked one on a set piece) without that incorrect decision.

So we could be sat here this morning with Huth on 6 and with some nice fixtures coming up (SWA & NOR).

Even us fantasy managers get hit by bad reffing decisions too 🙂

Well, it all depends on King. If he gets through tonight, I'd ship Dawson out fo sho since he seems to be third-choice at the moment. Fancy a City cleanie every week. Probably play Komp/Rich over Caulker then since Norwich are on some scoring form.

I'm considering Verm > Komp as well.

I'd say very slim, he gave away a penalty too so I wonder if that gets taken into account for ppi. AVB had actually screamed at him to get back and defend and he goes and gives away a peno! AVB is an absolute muppet, I blame him for it rather than Sturridge, it's his fault that I considers Sturridge anything other than a goal scoring machine unlike a certain Mr Torres

I'm just watching the game now so it should be interesting 🙂
AVB is right though, he is lazy, him, Mata and Torres don't track back at all which, IMO, is what puts so much pressure on the Chelsea defense, when you look at a team like Spurs who have Adebayor and Bale tracking back constantly as well as Valencia and Rooney for United, it does make a difference..
That said, Sturridge is not a winger!

Sturridge has the technical attributes to be a perfect wing forward in a 4-3-3. He's fast, can beat a man, can finish well, drifts into the channel etc..... but as you alluded to in your post he just has a bad attitude and work ethic.

Seems like one of those footballers who believes he's already made it and the rest will just be handed to him on a plate

I wish I'd had the guts to pop in Enrique for today, seems a waste now to have him on the bench, after all he sometimes pops up with an assist, Cisse's red card screwed everyone with a QPR defender. I took out Adebayor also (hopefully wisely) I desperately wanted to justify keeping Ade as I'd made a huge mistake drafting him in for the Wigan game instead of Bale, but it would have meant sacrificing Silva, However in retrospect, Silva should have been thrown out for Bale immediately.

I feel Silva must have a big score in him soon but my patience might wear thin if he's ineffective next week. In fact I'm tempted to get rid for Bale before then, not having Bale the last while has been pretty frustrating, the upcoming fixtures overall do not seem to suggest 2 goal hauls however. I guess staying loyal to Silva comes down to the upcoming fixtures really.

Ideally you'd want both Silva and Bale together in your team. But forced to choose between them I'd definitely plump for Bale. especially considering there are plenty of other quality options from City (Aguero, Dzeko for now, Richards, Bad K) whereas I'm not really fancying anyone else from Spurs at the moment until thier fixtures ease up

Bale has proven to be fixture-proof. I don't see him being stopped by many defenses and his positioning this year is markedly different than last, so you're less likely to see him come up with 3-4 straight GWs of 2 or 3 pts. I'm also very, very biased towards him!

Manchester United went down way too many times in the box. Howard Webb probably felt as though he had to give a couple, even if they weren't "strong" penalties.

You have a strong disliking for Huth I see ElNino.

Fair enough but I think he was a decent signing. Nobody could have predicted that incorrect red and they were looking okj for a cleanie til the sending off. Stoke look more solid these days and have decent fixtures coming up. For 5.6 with his attacking threat I think he's a decent prospect.

Think the red card will be rescinded so I'd save the trannie personally.

Agree with you that RVP is not a great option for captain this week though. I'm going Dempsey or Bale.

Also dropping Ba is bold no?

They may have come close, Gaf. But that's been their story at the Britannia in the last 10 weeks. They're lazy defenders against non Top 6 oppositions and tend to leak in 1 or 2 goals everytime. Also, they have a hectic schedule of 2 Europa's & FA Cup between 25 & 26, all of which are tough games mind you. We all know what happens with a tired Stoke defence, they could be prone to injuries/rotation as well. I went for 0 CS in those 3 games for Stoke, 1 down already. I just can't see it TBH. 🙂

Yeah what's Ba doing on the bench? 😉

Bold or stupid? Who else should I bench though? Maybe Dzeko, but it doesnt take much and he can have a 4 goal game. I think Dzeko has a chance for more points against Villa than Ba does against spurs.

What are you going to do with Huth, Jafa? I was originally planning on doing no transfers this week, enabling me to do Sessegnon and Morison out for McClean and Ba for free the week after. But after the Huth situation, I'm not so sure whether I should hang on to him and lose value, or get rid and take a hit to get Ba in.

        Here's my thinking RD:

We have 13 gwks left. No point messing around with price rises and price concerns. With so little time left, why not maximise the scoring potential of the next gwk by getting in the player you think will make the most difference in that gwk.

Huth stays as Siggy has NOR at home. The stats I saw looked really impressive.

Yes, but if Huth is suspended, then upon his return, he faces a very tricky run of opponents (Chelsea, Tottenham and City). Therefore, I can't see any point in keeping and making a loss on him when I'm going to transfer him out soon anyway. That's why I'm leaning towards taking a hit to get Ba in, and quickly before he becomes unaffordable. But, in your case, it's much easier as you already have Ba.

Ba will rise big time thats for sure so if you're in any danger of not being able to afford Ba after price rises/falls then I'd take the hit. But if your comfortable with cash then it's hardly an enticing game (Spurs away) to take a hit to bring in Ba

I won't get Ba in until GW 26. That's why I was planning on saving a transfer this week, to have two frees the week after. But the Huth possible suspension has thrown a spanner in the works.

@FuzzyWarbles: my short reply to you would be think of what double transfer you would like to do next week, then see if you can do the first of those to strengthen your XI this week. If not, just stick, because more often than not, something a little outside the expected will happen. E.g. Senderos is injured, and Santon delivers an assist at the Lane, or Senderos makes a recovery, and scores from a set piece. Heck, Huth's red might even be rescinded. That's the short answer. Yikes.

a typical points versus budget situation

worst case, you get in Ba for a point hit, he does not return anything at Spurs, and gets injured

best case, you get in Ba for a hit, he scores versus Spurs, and Dyer stays utterly quiet at home vs WBA

anyway, it seems that getting in Ba and getting Lord Djibril out is your key concern

add another -14 to that tally brings them up to -83. They should be around -150 by the end of the season. But hey, when literally "young boys" at the age of 17/18 join the most competitive league in Toronto, thats what happens. Not saying that young players cant compete as im only 20, but you get my point.

It just depends who you think will make the most difference in the next gwk. I've never rated Tony V as his stats tell the story that he is little goal threat (a necessity for me when choosing a midfielder) and he has basically been overperforming. I just don't see his run continuing tbh.

Siggy is on set plays, has a 50% shot accuracy for last 4 weeks and appears high up the Influence charts in the Member's Area.

Ah cheers Martin. I'd actually be more tempted to do Valencia --> Bale first, considering you have the funds.

At this point, I suppose you could hang on to Enrique since LIV's fixtures from GW28 on are quite good. I'm not a big fan of Cahill and not sure he's nailed on to play every week so if you want to take advantage of ManCity's fixtures, you could upgrade him to Richards/Kompany. I don't see how you can bring Aguero in without dismantling the rest of your squad.

If you haven't noticed already, there's a soft spot for Sigurdsson also so another option to consider.

I may swap Enrique for a city defender and double up for their next few fixtures, only problem is rotation and who to pick. If it looks like Terry will be back and Cahill 50/50 to start then I'd consider keeping Enrique. I just got Valencia in, somewhat regrettably now. I really believed he was going to go crazy on Chelsea's defence. I might keep him for the Pool match however, something I may well regret but I feel I need to show faith in what now seems like a poor transfer decision. Very tempting to throw Bale in for Silva...

Fair enough. If you can scrap the funds together, you could try and get the power 5 in midfield and sacrifice Dyer for Bale. But not sure how the rest of your team would look.

I still prefer Bale&Silva to Valencia&Bale mainly because of City's fixtures.

Perhaps someone else can come up with better advice!

Jesus that's a tough one, Valencia might be wise but I hope it won't be a wise move to bench him as I just drafted him in, supremely disappointed with his lack of crosses and forward running against Chelsea, might turn out to be a huge regret getting him in

I also sold Enrique as he wont be playing for me for maybe 4GWs and if, as I think he might, his scores drop over that period then we might see a price drop making him more affordable to get back in.

I did Enrique to Huth though. It went well 🙁

😕 Huth.. Only a bad trade in hindsight...I was trying to fit him in myself but couldn't find the dosh.. 😉

            Thanks for your advice.. 🙂

And on the filp side, surprise rotation/rest won't give me such a heartache 😉

And gives me time to address injuries without needing to rush for replacement

True but those players will all start for their teams if they arent injured except Silva who's prone to the odd rotation here and there.

But most weeks they will all be out on the pitch.

            Food for thought anyway 😉

Jafa do you still think sess is good value even when facing arsenal? Thinking valencia's form is about to run out with young/nani back in the picture...

The dead zone is the place to be thats for sure.

Contributed a lot less to the site when I went back to the UK for xmas and was back on UK time. The volume of people is not manageable. You make a long comment wanting some advice and then find it's 2 pages back within 5 mins

kinda mentioned it before, but does anyone know how to monitor D'Gerbil's price status? from what i remember, a new player added to the PL protects his price in FPL, is it 7 days, 10? Does his rise/fall reset at 0 at that point? I don't want a surprise price drop if i can avoid it.
