With the Paddy Paddy Cup V sewn up last week by sleepingmaster, we now turn our attention to it’s sister competition, the Members Paddy Power Cup II. Over 900 Fantasy Football Scout members signed up, with hopes of qualifying for the first round of 512. As expected, the standard was very high, and the qualifying mark was set at a lofty 82 points for Gameweek 24.

That put 494 in the hat for round one, and forced 41 fantasy managers to rely on their overall rank to earn one of the remaining 17 spots. The list of all qualifiers can be viewed right here.

On to the first round draw then, which has been made and can be viewed right here. All 256 fixtures will be played over the upcoming Gameweek 25, and the result will follow shortly afterwards.

Our reigning champ, Kippax Kikkers (formerly Kippax Kolggers), is up against leekota, as he looks to defend his title.

Elsewhere, plenty of Scouts (not me) are in the mix – Mark takes on Shimmy, G-G-Granville has drawn Shehzu, Andy will square up to Lucas that is all, it’s Big Dunc Vs. ChrisHighwind, Pure Olivia is up against djembe, Anorak‘s been paired with Primprong, and Jonty will play johnd.

The prize? Well, once again sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

  • Winner – £150 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
  • Runner-up – £75 worth of free bets. £30 Amazon Voucher
  • 3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £20 Amazon Voucher

Remember, to claim a prize you will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 and over to be eligible. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions.

If you’ve yet to register a Paddy Power account, then you can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register and bet £10.

Finally, if you set up an account and are going to bet with Paddy Power, always gamble responsibly.

You were on here the other nite (pished), forget what exactly was being talked about but i think it was something like you saying,
"you'd rather remove your own balls than take the armband off RVP". It was quite entertaining especially at 4:45 sat evening!

Ok, this week I'm placing more emphasis on my h2h and the first round of the cup.

With regards to both the teams I'm up against, is it better to captain a player they both have - Dempsey - in order to cover myself, or would it be better to captain a differential player (one that no team has - Siggy), thus increasing my potential to outscore them?

Also my cup opponent doesn't have Bale, but my h2h opponent does... does that make Bale a more attractive proposition for captaincy?

    Thanks

Zepp, don't be daft! Your rank is brilliant, concentrate on getting into that top 1k !!
Cups and H2H are a nice little distraction...but...y'know.
Captain Dempsey, it's the only chance you'll get considering Aguero is so attractive for the armband in gw26 and 27.

Personally I'd concentrate on the cup. You don't win anything for coming in the top 1k. In fact I don't give a rats ass about overall ranking, but that's just me. 😀

Yo Larky, RE: free bet - if you win the bet you place, you only receive the profit, not the stake + profit.
ie: 150 win at 2/1 odds wins you 300 not 450.

No harm in having cash in the bank for a future brilliant 1 week punt.. especially if the cheapo mid you bring in gets you more points than the expensive one you drop... (which i think is the case here)

ye see i think i agree tbh
have my other wildcard spare and was thinking of using that in gameweek 28 which is pretty soon so thinking about it
no rush as nobody i want will rise tonight, tbh not up for going kompany to richards as i have kompany at 6.3 which is good value have done well with him.
also wierd as i am a norwich fan and everyone talking up stig as he has us next, like were a bad team haha althought i know r defence is interesting.
swansea next 3 until my potential wildcard NOR sto wig

    Mign
    Simpson cahill Lescott

kompany is the safer pick, but does have the question mark of his recent injury

but lescott is a bigger goalthreat, however will suffer when toure returns

and richards a better assist threat, but appears prone to small injuries, and mancini may rotate him for easier fixtures to keep him fresh

      Don't like either choice...

Siggy is cheaper than Taarabt less risky (equally good as a differential) and already providing returns...
If you want a dribbling/crossing rotation risk then the Ox is also cheaper than Johnson and in better form...

So Walters to Siggy or Sinclair, play Sess and bench Ba.

Cos he decided on Siggy before this week, he is a Chelsea fan who knows the merits of Sinclair etc.

Anyway, who do you think is best? I feel Sinclair is there for the long term, not sure how much Siggy is a flash in the pan.

Tweaked up my team a bit, playing someone who has abandoned their team so I think I'm safe to take an 8 point hit to clean house. Feedback on benchwarmers and captains?

    Vorm
    Simpson, N. Taylor, McAuley
    Dempsey(C), Sigurdsson, Bale, Silva(V)
    Ba, RVP, Aguero

    Bench: Stockdale, Sessegnon, Evans, Shotton

Keeping Evans out, as I am pissed at him for having another negative week, and Liverpool will be tough to keep a cleansheet with. Sess had a long match and walked off with a limp, plus potentially a tough match. He's first in my bench though. Shotton is a discount defense play, and since I'm putting a lot of focus on Fulham, don't want to lose it all if it pays off.

A lot of talk over the last couple of days from people intent on removing Valencia from their teams. My plan was to bring him in soon. Why would Ferguson play Young ahead of Valencia? I don't see any reason why he would. Valencia had a good run down the stretch last year too.

Because he's Fergie and can never be second guessed no matter how 'obvious' the lineup should appear to be. There is also a chance Tony V can be shifted into defence while Nani and Young both start.

Of course he has still managed to get points from right back, but I'd rather not have an anti OOP or rotation risk with shite fixtures in my team when there are decent alternatives out there.

I don't know why some people are considering captaining RVP this week, Sunderland's defence is incredibly lacking in generosity and in 12 games at home, they've conceded 11, plus the biggest defeat was 1-0!!

Sunderland have just played 120 mins, Sess came off with either cramps or a knock... Arsenal are coming off the back of their best win of the season... RVP just scored a hat-trick & made 2 assists... the Ox looks like he could easily unlock a tight defence with his pace and skill....

I realise Sunderland are a much harder test than Blackburn... but there you have it...

as no one else noticed i'll pull myself up here. it was after sunderland that man city only had 1 day's rest, not before, therefore making my point pretty pointless.

Then don't captain him then. I'm pretty certain you don't get the captaincy right week in week out.
