→ The 2014/15 season was Sergio Aguero's best ever for Fantasy returns. Seven of his goals/assists and 36 of his FPL points came in two meetings with which club that year? Scout Betting

With a bag full of points from the Scout Picks last gameweek, it was a surprise to see our Paddy Power wallet containing nothing but a used train ticket and a couple of crumpled receipts. Robert Huth’s early red card set the tone, with Sergio Aguero’s goal and a win at 4/5 the only market to come in. With Talent and Watchlist figures Gylfi Sigurdsson and Yakubu Aiyegbeni the main course of this week’s Flutter, it’s sure to be a feeding frenzy of rich returns.

The Yak is back. Whilst serving his three-match ban for a red card against Fulham, Yakubu’s Blackburn have slipped from their manager-saving form, topped off by a trouncing by Arsenal last weekend. Seemingly a talisman for the Kean revival, the sorely-missed striker will be essential to their tactics against visiting QPR on Saturday. Paddy have priced up a goal and a win at 5/2 and a brace at 9/1 . Both are tempting, but £2 on the former opens our account for another game-week.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has been around a bit since his early loan spells at Shrewsbury and Crewe. A 16-goal season for Reading and subsequent sale to Hoffenheim have cultured the 22 year old into a real creative force for the Swansea midfield. A pound at 20/1 for him to score and assist against visiting Norwich is a long price and a bit of a risk, but one worth taking since he performed the same feat against West Brom last week on the road.

Clint Dempsey has been the mainstay for Fantasy line-ups for many seasons now, always commanding a decent performance to Fantasy point conversion. Not a cheap prospect, but neither the lavish cost of Silva or Nani, Dempsey’s price of 8.9 is likely to continue to rise with favourable home and away fixtures coming up. A visit from Stoke may well be one of the tougher clashes of the next few, but Paddy’s offering of 5/2 on a Dempsey goal and a Fulham win is not short on confidence. A £4 stake here should bring home £14; a decent wager considering suspended Robert Huth will only be able to track Dempsey’s runs from the sidelines.

Last week’s ‘Who Will Score the Most’ market turned in a respectable 5 goals, and although our pick Demba Ba was among those on the score sheet, Robin van Persie’s battering of Blackburn left us empty handed. This week Rooney, RVP and Aguero are in the mix, but perhaps facing off against tougher competition. Aguero at 15/8 is the longest price of the trio as City travel to Villa, but with only a couple of quid left from our tenner bank roll, it might be a risk worth taking.

Money Back Special

All eyes will be on Old Trafford for the early Gameweek 25 kick-off between Man United and Liverpool tomorrow lunchtime. No surprise, then, to see Paddy focus on this one for this week’s Money Back Special. If Luis Suarez scores a goal at any point in the match, Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast singles. Paddy have also turned their attentions to this weekend’s Six Nations Rugby. If a number 11 scores the first try in the Italy v England, France v Ireland or Wales v Scotland clashes, Paddy Power will refund all losing try scorer bets on that match.

If as predicted Whelan, Woodgate, Wilkinson, Walters, Wilson and Whitehead play for Stoke, no team will ever have had more "W"s play for them? That's two whole internets there.

In fact, I'm going to wager it's an all-time record for any one letter.

im going to captain aguero over bale, i cant imagine newcastle laying down and conceeding heavily, with man city needing points i think Aguero will be forced to step it up a notch, with an easy 3 points available at villa can see him scoring well.

    Team is

    Vorm (Mignolet)

    Rangel/Clichy/Kelly (BAE, Simpson)

    Sessegnon/Bale(VC)/Dempsey/Silva (McClean)

    RVP/Ba/Aguero (C)

With Clichy a constant rotation doubt following Kolarov's recent involvement in the team, i've left BAE first on the bench, however still believe that Newcastle will knick one goal. So hoping Clichy does get the go ahead! hoping this will boost me further into the top 500 mark.

    Whats everyone think ?

IMO, The Fulham-Stoke game will be 0-0 at half, Dempsey will score the gwg in the 70ish min to win 1-0.

    5(goal)+2(90mins)+1(CS)+3bps= 11x2= 22pts for Demps.

Spurs-Newcastle game will finish 3-1. Bale will knack a goal and get an assist.

    5(goal)+2(90mins)+3(ast)+3bps= 13x2= 26pts for Bale

City game will end up 3 or 4-0, a certain striker whom i shall leave nameless shall score a brace.

    8(2goals)+2(90mins)+3bps= 13x2= 26pts for Mr. XYZ 😉

Depends where you are then (trailing or ahead in your ML)

If ahead, RVP may be a safer bet as he's had plenty of rest, in great form and Sunderland may be a bit tired still from their last game.

Dempsey is the differential captain, seen as highly likely to get at least a goal with a smaller percentage of ownership.

Bale, alike to Dempsey could also could score, has been brilliant at home and may be worth a punt if you're catching up.

Ok so all week ive had my armband on Clint.... oh so confident with my choice... a couple of hours looking at this board and im changing my mind!

I promised myself last season not to captain a player from a small club again... after I captained Tim Cahill against Blackpool at home.

This is bringing back memories... plus Lawro has predicted a 1 - 0 Stoke win and a 2 - 0 Spurs win so Im going with Bale..... until after ive had a few more drinks

    Stop! Captain Demps!
I dont know if you've read this before but...
    Why?Some reasons
He is in very good form.
He is playing as a striker with Ruiz in support behind him. And I think he loves playing with Ruiz in the games I have watched.
Stoke are in very very poor form and without Huth their defence will be weakened.
Last season at Craven Cottage Fulham won 2-0, and Dempsey scored both.
He gets 5 points for each goal rather than 4.
Should also get 1 point for clean sheet.
He has played 90 minutes every match, one exception where he played 84 mins.
From a total of 10 goals and 4 assists this season, 7 goals are at home and all his assists are at home.

I hope this made the captain choice a lot easier!
TotalFPL has their armband on him.

Bale gets 5 points for a goal too.
Fulham will play differently without Zamora.
Bale is also in good form.
Bale has a "license to roam".
Newcastle are in poor Defensive away form.
Last season at White Ha... Last season doesn't matter.

But more seriously, I think Bale is a much more consistent performer, so I'm captaining him. (I also doesn't have Dempsey)

The main problem with leaving Valench on the bench is that it leaves you with no reason to look forward to the Utd Liverpool game. I normally try to avoid sentimental nonsense like that, but still!
