After weeks of research, we’ve predicted the starting line-up for every team’s opening fixture at this summer’s World Cup.

We’ve put these together using information gathered from qualifying matches, international friendlies and team news information from managers.

Some of them are more set in stone than others and ultimately they are predictions based on the interpretation of the data by our team of writers.

Is that affordable, if so, are not going to have much in the way of keepers/subs

      1. jbenny1107
        • 11 Years

Yeah, it's affordable. Two cheap starting keepers on different days, a 4.0 defender that starts and a 5.0/4.5 midfielder pair that start. Most of these big name guys will come thru with points anyways.

    Thoughts on this one:

    Uzoho, Courtois
Danilo, Valera, Pavard (or Daalsgard), Hegazi, Sabaly
Cueva, James, Ziyach, Ljiajic, C. Sanchez
    Neymar, Messi, Lukaku

    Any recommendations?

    Think I’ve cracked it!

    El Kajoui Uzoho

    Lukaku Cavani Jesus

Bench boosting week 1? Otherwise, one more big name defender by changing Meza or Belhanda to a 4.5. Otherwise, I like it.

      1. DantheManinaPan

This is a very backwards move. The 4.5 defenders are so much better than the 4.5 mids.

Trippier has been on and off my squad a lot... I'm concerned about possible rotation (Could replace him with Danilo)
Mbappe possible injury (not sure though).
Would change Meza to Aldawsari (Meza won't be key to Argentina... Aldawsari could)... +0.5 you could use elsewhere

      1. Bad Kompany
        • 7 Years

will wc after this week so looking at the first round only. Think Tippier will play at least the first game and Danilo has a much tougher fixture. Mbappe is in all of the predicted starting line-ups so should play. As for Meza, it's rare we have someone so cheap in an attacking position for a great attacking team. Also, don't really fancy Saudi Arabia

  9. michele98

    Lost in previous post.
    Would really value some input

    Muslera / Caballero
    Kimmich / Danilo / Advincula / Hakimi / Sabaly
    Eriksen / Modric / James / Carrasco / Aldawsari
    Cavani / Jesus/ Guerrero

    1. Bad Kompany
      • 7 Years
      7 years, 5 months ago

Goalies seem expensive to me. Uzoho will be starting for only 4.0. Defense seems fine. Don't really fancy Modric as he plays a little bit too deep for my liking for fantasy football. Attack seems fine

  10. The Royal Robin
    • 10 Years

    A) Neymar Mitrovic Tagliafico or B) Cavani Jesus Hummels

    WC gameweek 3:

    Muslera- Aldeweireld-Meunier-Pavard-Marcelo-Hummels
    Coutinho-Jrodriguez
    Neymar-Griezmann-Smolov

    Uzoho-Sane-Inui-C.Sanchez

I went top and defense heavy as you can see.

He’s cheap and almost nailed apparently.

Let’s pretend he doesn’t play. He’s so cheap and plays so early in the week it won’t have a negative impact.

With everyone going big hitters up top I'm interested to see how my high value defense strategy compares. If wc is anything like fpl then it seems that the least value is found in the forwards.

    Pickford - Muslera
    Kimmich - Meunier - Trippier - Danilo - Pavard
    Mueller - J.Rodrigues - Willian - Cueva - Nandez
Jesus - Mitrovic - De Arrascaeta

Pavard was Mendy but no longer sure he'll start. Will switch to a Spanish defender for R2

Will it win the whole thing, definitely not. Will it beat your team, most likely

I had Paulino early on but heard he was playing more of a pivot role. Willian is one of the front 3 so hopefully in the box and involved more.

No idea if completely accurate, but check this article for expected lineups (at the top). Semi colons instead of commas tend to indicate a change in position.

      So Iceland midfield would be:

Birkir Bjarnason, Aron Gunnarsson, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Johann Berg Gudmundsson

He means for Japan. It seems not, strange as he scored a brace the other day.

Not a fan of picking 4.5 Sanchez... other than that looks great.

Anyone else feel great about it all, ready to waltz in here to boast and eventually leave feeling paranoid, alone and damp?

    Just me then.
