After weeks of research, we’ve predicted the starting line-up for every team’s opening fixture at this summer’s World Cup.

We’ve put these together using information gathered from qualifying matches, international friendlies and team news information from managers.

Some of them are more set in stone than others and ultimately they are predictions based on the interpretation of the data by our team of writers.

    Salah on the ball
Mohamed Salah trained with the ball for the first time since the injured he sustained in the UEFA Champions League final on Wednesday. Friday, 15 June is shaping up to be a significant day for Salah. Not only could it be his World Cup debut, should he be cleared to participate by the Pharaoh’s medical staff, the day also marks his 26thbirthday and the start of Eid al-Fitr, the holiday that celebrates the conclusion of Ramadan.

Have they actually though? Look at their opposition over that time. They conceded 2 goals twice vs a weak Hungary side.

Is it one of those things where he said they do, and now everyone says they do? I've seen "impeccable" defence a few times, which is clearly hyperbole.

Yeah. I'm surpirsed how many can spell impeccable, so it must be copied! I had to check you'd spelt it right...

I've personally switched Pavard to Varela, and a disproportionate amount of that decision was likely down to the FFFrog effect

Haha, he does know his stuff and has put a lot of research and time into it. So for the most part I take it at face value 😉

Also, Senegal keepers have uncertainty around them - different sources predict different starters, and they've played an equal number of friendlies recently - just a heads up!

Goddamn and now the Klopptomist effect takes hold. Can I hold out till the deadline or will the pressure be too much?

They seem to be rather solid defensively but they do have some off games. Allowed two to Hungary twice and five to France last world cup but apart from that they've been very solid defensively against all teams, not just recently but throughout the last eight years (beat Spain 1-0 in 2010 wc).

Going with this team to get some differentials. Thank you for all the ideas from the posters here.

    Allison, uzoho
    Kimmich, meunier, akanji, valera, sabaly
    Erikssen, j.rod, ziyech, meza, aldaswari
    Werner, cavani, lukaku

Only dissatisfied with cavani (no pens and not in high scoring team). Would prefer lewadowsk(in high scoring team) but he plays last and will leave me without a strong captain (only ziyech) on matchday two. Cavani might be switched to jesus in round 2 if CRC gets hammered in round 1

Allison instead of muslera because he plays after Uzoho. No Danilo since he won't offer attacking returns so I went with a reasonable 4.5 in valera/akanji. Do not like the idea of doubling up defence regardless of how strong the team is

Peru has much harder match on GW2 and that was the reason I started to think about Russian option. Any reason why Peru is the clear choice? I do have Al-Dawsari so its little bit of a bad bussiness to go for a Russian tho.

Like it a lot (8/10) but may want to consider Paulinho over Isco given we don’t know how new manager will set up Spain.

I've Aldasawi but really know nothing about him.

Is he a good option? And should I trust him with the day 1 armband? Hear he is a bit of a loose cannon.

    Thanks!

G2G? Would quite like to invest another 0.5 in GK to find another 4.5 who would rotate around with Peru's Gallese - not loving Uzoho's odds of contributing anything beyond extra budget!

    Diallo Uzoho
    Kimmich Meunier Danilo Varela Pavard
    Coutinho J'hames Cueva Meza Inui
    Suarez Lukaku Griezmann

    Griezmann+Coutinho+kudriashov
    OR
    Jesus+Eriksen+Danilo

I swap Eriksen because I need a captain for the 16th and 21th. It's only for the first 2 GWs

    A) Miranda
    B) Varela
    C) Meza
    D) Özil

    Cheers!
