World Cup Fantasy Transfer Tips: The Big Numbers

World Cup Fantasy managers will have to respond quickly to the emerging trends in Russia, as they prepare their transfers ahead of the Gameround 2 deadline on Tuesday.

We’ve taken our first look at the Opta World Cup data, which is exclusively available to members after the completion of each match.

Our analysis covers all fixtures contested in Groups A-F, with a scrutiny of Group G and H to follow before the second set of group matches commence.

Not surprisingly, Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.0m) has been at the heart of the transfer market in recent days following his 16-point haul in Portugal’s opening fixture: since Friday night, his ownership has doubled.

Elsewhere, there appears to be a strong case to load up on Uruguay players ahead of their match with Saudi Arabia, while the underlying statistics should provide some consolation to owners of Lionel Messi and Neymar following the £12.0m-rated forwards’ opening-match blanks.

                    it's the only real move I can make since I don't have the dinero to bring in a heavy hitter like Costa or Cavani.
                    And I don't really fancy their chances against Swiss and Swedes since both strong defensively but you're right you never know

                        Have you considered Lewa to Cavani? Also, James needs monitoring if he doesn't play today.

                        Yeah, I was thinking the same thing pending how Lewa performs and if JRod plays or not. Might just end up doing straight swaps and ride out till WC or next FT. Eriksen for JRod, Cavani for Lewa.

                        Think my biggest dead weight is Mueller. Didn't think he was gonna be in such poor form and don't think he'll do much in this new system with Werner up front. Might even consider Isco. Or just ride it out with him for now.

                        Yeah, that would be an even better -4 if James doesn't play since he probably won't be 100% for the next game either.

                        Müller might not be the best pick given his price but at least he doesn't take up a precious fwd spot, so maybe try to ride it out and WC him out next round?

          I think you have to start think about teams that have just one player that racks up the points. England that's Kane, Portugal that's Ronaldo and Spain it's probably Costa etc. I think we are all missing something here that we don't see in FPL. In the that game we see teams with players capable of getting points all over the place. These International teams seem to have a few key players and then filler (for Fantasy purposes I mean).

      Is Ronaldo really worth 12m. That prevents you having a coutinho, would coutinho and Lukaku not be likely to outscore Layun, Cueva, Pavon + Ronaldo? He's a legend of the game but he can't score hat tricks every match.
