Have to say, Liverpool got very lucky on the penalty shoot out. I do think they deserved to win based on the match but based on the penos I think Cardiff did. Ah well, that's the beauty of the game.

Ah I suppose it was really just a bit of nerves and inexperience from the Cardiff lads on the shoot out. Adam's peno was shocking and the save pulled off on Stevie's was very good. As I said though, I think the team who completely deserved to win it did.
Cardiffs penalties were shit. You can't miss that many and expect to win.
Great effort from them but the penalties don't lie.

I may as well use a transfer anyway as I have 2 free ones. I also have 2.9m in bank.
Should i:
a) Swap Valencia to Mata and bench McClean or Zamora?
b) Downgrade Valencia to a cheap midfielder (maybe Pilkington) and then upgrade Zamora to either Rooney/Aguero?
c) Something else?
Also, have i picked the right defenders?

Your defence looks good to me. I would go with b. Though I would get Morrison or Sigurdson in instead of Pilkington, despite being an on and off again Pilkington fan. Morrison is having a good run of late while Sigurdson gets plenty of the ball, not to mention his extra duties (thought he was unlucky not to get points this week). Difficult to choose between Aguerro and Rooney...maybe have to flip a coin 🙂

I would (and am) keep Valencia, though I will bench him this week, as I would want him back for gw29. I don't worry so much about price changes at this stage of the season. I am actually looking at dumping Bale.

Yeah good point, I am benching him against Spurs and we'll see but surely he is higher in the pecking order than Young. I guess you can always get him back if he looks secure.

ok as a Man Utd fan I wanted Cardiff to win (as I think most people who don't support Liverpool did, the underdog and all that) but I will weigh in on the Carling Cup.
The game was fabulous and both teams gave everything to try and win (unlike Stoke in last year's FA cup final) and this made a difference. As it stands, neither side deserved to lose and penalties is always cruel but today that 'it was only the Carling Cup' is stupid. Every fan says this, until they win it (it was this way with United in 2005 and in 2009 and 2010. The t-shirt thing, Dan is right, it's standard procedure, clubs who go into game where a win can get them promotion or a title do the same.
In short, though I'm not happy about the result I congratulate Liverpool on winning a fantastic game of football and Cardiff, defeat is always painful, but at least you can leave knowing you gave literally everything you had to win it.
it is obviously impossible for me to be objective, but i imagine that if iw as a neutral watching that, it would have been a thoroughly enjoyable game
as it was, i was a nervous wreck for 2.5 hours, it was not fun for me!
no doubt, those sorts of games are always great for the neutral, but horror for the fans of the 2 teams involved.

Do people really think Arsenal or their fans were happy when they lost last year. Regardless of what is, if you get to a cup final, you want to win it.

He's started almost all of the easier fixtures so not that surprising. When he has been benched it's often been in Europe or against the top teams where he probs wouldn't have scored that many points anyway.
For a Liverpool defender in their future double gameweek, Enrique is nowhere to be seen now. Skrtel or Johnson instead. Probably Kryten as he is cheaper and a bigger goal threat.
Liverpool are not liked at all because they carry on as if they are still a force - the truth is should they play sunderland away this weekend they would lose 2-0 and if they were to play them at an field they would win 2-0 - run of the mill team who think out supporters think are at man united calibre.

I suggest you aim beating him in the DGW's coming up and when there are a small amount of fixtures. Last year people got on here got about 170 and the average was way lower. So it is possible. Add in beating him for 5-10 points each week and you have a chance.

Not 100, but last season I was almost 50 behind with 5 weeks to go a ended up winning by 50. Plenty of time for you to catch up!

GW 30:I can do transfers to have 11 starting in GW 29 and then WC for GW 30.
