Hardly a dilemma when they're both good options. Enjoy your 6.0 keeper.

no right or wrong way. personally went ddg and hamer with an option to downgrade ddg after a look at a few games and if money suddenly needed. in a rotation id suggest home keeper usually best option

Not agreeing with his logic of “that’s why we should get DDG” but nothing wrong with a 6.0 keeper. It’s his output for that price that matters. His price rose up to 5.9m last season and he finished 1st, so it’s a fair price.

I have both. Was planing on Fab for this GW but their poor defensive display v Liverpool is giving me 2nd thoughts.

Plus Burnley play Istanbul on the Thursday so gives an advantage to Watford in the early Sunday game.

    A reddit casual:

I picked Phil Jones (best PPM on United) and Otamendi; neither of which played.

I just replaced Jones with Eric Baily but now think I should take the hit and replace Otamendi with Mendy.

Funny noob confession: in all of the research I did, I thought that “Mendy” was just a cute name fans had for Otamendi. Shame!

Possibly. I went with him as I believe he will be 100% nailed and I was unsure if I could say that about Robertson. Instead of trading directly which would be very sideways I got Mendy due to the fixture and with the plan to upgrade Shaw after as he may not be nailed for much longer after this gw either.

Looks strong, but lots of dependence on Man U def.. you can wait for one of them to get injured or lose their slot (Shaw for Young perhaps) and then correct. with a different team defender. You choose well, relax for a week.

I’m selling Shaw for Robertson next gw. Took a punt for the opening game as I figured Jose would go extra defensive. Nearly paid off until that late Vardy goal.

          • 15 Years

I'd go slow though, your 1.5 ITB is max flexibility combined with an unusually well performing team... you can move to Kane or Hazard so, so easily..(without a single hit, much less a WC) Not many will be able to do that.

Take a look at Vestergard at 5.0, if Shaw loses his job or the first time ManU gets scored on twice in a row, though I must say Robertson is pleasant to own.

Solid advice. I had intended on making Shaw Bellerin from gw3 but after watching Mendy and Robertson and how good their respective teams were, I fear going without.

    Davies - TAA - Alonso
    Sanchez - Pereira - Bilva - Mane
    Aguero (C) - Firminho - King

Bench: Boruc - Daniels - Wan Bissaka - Masuaku

1 FT obviosly. Should I do any changes, or save the transfers? Im tilting towards save.

True true. Only thing swaying me is Cardiff need to do well in their home games, especially against teams like Newcastle. I can see that game being a 0-0 or a 1-0.

Whereas Chelsea v Arsenal could easily blow out to over 3-4 goals.

Cardiff looked poor, Newcastle looked good despite defeat.

Play the odds, especially at this stage in the season.

He'll be touch and go. He'll start to get forgotten by the weekend as knee jerkers have done their business and folk turn to next weeks pts instead of last weeks.

difficult to say in GW1, who knows what changes they've made to the price change algorithms?
If you want Neves, just buy him - if not, don't. It's good to get rises early, but not worth chasing 0.1 just for trading's sake.

Thoughts on Eriksen > Pogba & Cedric > Robertson -4??

    Ederson
Wan Bissake / PVA / Daniels
    KDB / Salah / Richarlson / Eriksen
    King / Kun / Tosun

    Hamer, Stephens, Cedric, Peltier

No. Essentially downgrading a premium mid and taking a hit for a defender in the same move.

Also, I would play Cedric or Peltier over WB this GW.

Laca looked bright when he came on the other day. Give him until GW4 and see I'd say because I can see Mki being dropped, Auba being pushed out wide and Laca being played through the middle by GW3 - if this happens you could be in the money. If not, go with Vards for GW4 and have a party!

To anyone thinking of a transfer don’t unless a player is injured and definitely out and no bench to back up. Having 2 free transfers going into week 3 is great value. You will have second round of games to assess form over 2 games.

Has anyone noted how very well Gw1 went for fantasy players? So many of the heavily tipped players did well and everything played out as it was supposed to.

By the law of averages 50 points will be a good score in GW2

Game has changed a lot these last few years. The likes of Mendy, Shaw, Alonso, Robbo etc are as likely to score or assist as any mid.

Captaincy is not about potential, it’s about probability and likelihood.

Defenders get those double digit scores but it’s harder to predict when they actually will as opposed to talismans of their teams like Salah, Kane, Aubameyang, etc.

If you can predict them before a game rather than look at them in hindsight, fair play to you.

I am not so sure about this.
Especially when a dominate team is at home up against a weaker team and the weaker team just sits back.
Whereas one particular attacker has to score/assist.
The defender in the dominate team is more likely to get those 4 points on top of any goal or assist.
Also the way the bonus point system is set up if a defender gets an assist he automatically gets high bonus.
A weaker team that defends backs to the wall and fights for a 0-0 means all defenders are likely to get a bonus.
in short I think it is just perception.
I can remember captaining Dennis Irwin and Stuart Pearce back in the day!

I think that is actually a perpetuation of the myth that you should not captain defenders.
In the past there have been plenty of defenders who have scored big points where it could be predicted with some level of confidence.
To say it cannot or should not be done is a bit odd to me.
