The first international break of the 2018/19 season gave the Fantasy Football Scout community (and its writers!) an opportunity to catch a breath or two.

But while some Fantasy managers have decided to take a rest from all things FPL, the FFS community continues to busy itself by fighting the good fight.

Yet again we can bring you a Community Round-up full of all the latest hot topics and tables carefully and methodically worked on by our users and members in the past week.

The Hottest Topics

Going into the international break, Rhinos waded into the Mohamed Salah debate by offering us the pros and cons of retaining the services of Liverpool’s talismanic Egyptian.

Rossi3254 also had their say on Salah as part of a premium midfielders analysis, while Liverpool’s upcoming schedule also gets a mention as Shawcus outlined his approach of form over fixtures.

This fortnight hiatus from FPL was itself the focus of discussion, with talk ranging from the interest in international football to transfer plans over the coming week or so.

Legomane looked at the death of bench fodder, while Jafooli explored how to build a Wildcard team around two heavy-hitting captain choices.

Ed highlighted the threat of Son Heung-min on Lucas Moura’s starting spot, meanwhile. Another early-season star – Watford’s Jose Holebas – was the focus of Smurf‘s Hot Topic.

Irbox has been watching All or Nothing – and has a few FPL thoughts based on what he’s seen.

The appeal of Arsenal’s assets was also the source of some debate on Friday.

Finally, we had some excellent suggestions this week about our regular articles and on how to improve the Members’ Area – keep those thoughts coming in throughout the season.

Community Tables

There was more quality custom table creation going on this week, some of which are listed below:

Keep your tables coming in for inclusion in our weekly round-up, with a title and description always appreciated to explain the purpose of the statistical analysis.

Community Tournaments

Cosmin Rotaru is the new leader of our public Fantasy Football Scout mini-league after playing Bench Boost in Gameweek 1, Triple Captain in Gameweek 3 and Wildcard in Gameweek. His overall rank is now 30 in a first ever season of FPL.

Nick Howard still leads our Fantasy Football Scout Members League but has slipped to 85th in the overall rankings, having played his Bench Boost and Wildcard in earlier Gameweeks. This is his eighth FPL season, but he has never finished in the top 300k.

RedLightning still leads FFS Mods & Cons but has slipped to 406th overall. This is his tenth FPL season and he has had two top 4k finishes. Like Andrew, he has not yet played any chips.

Andrew Garland still leads RedLightning‘s Top 10k Any Season league and rises to 110th overall. This is his sixth season and his highest previous finish was 5986th in 2016/17. He has not yet played any chips.

It's got good balance (due to lack of Salah or Kane). Risks are:
Moura losing minutes to Son/Lamela once champions league starts
Mhiki isn't nailed as Emery doesn't know his best side
      No Salah
      No Kane
      Holebas has rubbish fixtures

So if you're happy to come out of a WC with that many risks, you're good to go!

        thanks puncheon guly.
for the risk os salah and kane i will defend saying i have aguero.
moura losing minutes might be an issue but the way he has started i think i am willing to rish.
holebas i have seen his games he has been scoring and assisting. he scored one vs spurs man. i am willing to gamble on him as well inspite of bad fixtures but i think watford will win games and he will be key.

        Thanks everyone!
What do you suggest I do? Maxed out on budget, I could possibly do
        Mitro > Wilson
        Neves > Hojberg
        Quaner > Jiminez
        ?

Maybe. Your key gain there though is probably 1 point, so it comes down to whether you prefer Neves and Mitro (plus the risk of a zero pointer In a heavy rotation week) to Wilson and Jimenez

    Happy Saturday all.

Do people think that Klopp will use Southampton (h) to rest his top players? On paper it seems to be the game used for rotation as it's their easiest game in September, however with PSG (h) four days before (no travel) and Chelsea (h) in the League Cup a few days later (arguably a better chance to rest players), are we being a bit too quick to get rid of our Liverpool assets?

    Thoughts appreciated

Think he will use the Chelsea League Cup fixture sandwiched between Soton & Chelsea in the PL to rest players.

But yes we could reduced mins for someone he players against Soton.

How does this squad look, assuming no injuries. I'm aware I have no Salah, but believe it's worth the risk.

    Ederson (Stekelenburg)

    Robertson Mendy Alonso (W-B, Holebas)

Mane, Hazard, Alli, Walcott, Schurrle (Walcott to Richarlison)

    Aguero, Wilson (Ings)

Holebas and Ings to be used when required

    1. Puncheon Guly

In all seriousness, I'm not convinced Ederson is worth the extra, and having Holebas on the bench every week is perhaps a waste of funds. So maybe downgrade them both to upgrade Schurrle

    International Scouting Report
Hazard is electric and will punish any team including top teams, and makes it look easy. Lukaku if fed will gobble up goals & points (7.5% ownership, so he could be the differential in next couple of months) Vertonghen and Kompany will easily scoop clean sheets versus rotten teams and always have a goal threat at set pieces.
McDonald very composed but way off Dembele standard - Both clearly 2-3 points players. Fraser has awesome energy levels but is visibly not impressed at all by right wingback role (neither am I), Armstrong should be given more game time by saints, Snodgrass thinks he’s better than he really is. Andy Robertson, is quality but now captain of Scotland has unbelievable 7 week schedule, so Klopp resting him will occur unless he is fittest man alive.
