The Dugout Discussion returns for an evening shift at the Emirates, as fourth-placed Arsenal take on sixth-placed Newcastle United in the penultimate fixture of Gameweek 28. If Newcastle have serious Champions League ambitions, then a good result tonight is a must. That sets us up for a potentially entertaining evening, with Arsenal currently enjoying a great spell of form. The team news from the capital is in, and the line-ups are as follows…

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Rosicky, Song, Arteta, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, van Persie.

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Coloccini, Santon, Obertan, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Gutierrez, Ba.

Arsene Wenger makes one change from the side that unsuccessfully attempted to over-haul Milan mid-week, with Mikel Arteta coming in for Gervinho. Intriguingly, that means another start for Alex Oxlade Chamberlain with Theo Walcott operating on the opposite flank.

Despite promising an attacking mentality tonight, Alan Pardew has reverted to a 4-5-1 formation, with Papiss Cisse making way for Gabriel Obertan. There’s also a forced change with Ryan Taylor missing out with the calf strain. In comes Hatem Ben Arfa.

        Probably not. He's more of a workhorse player. Although some of his passes have almost cut through the Newcastle defence.

    So...I'm signing Rooney this week.
    But how to fit him in?

    I've currently got a front 3 of Suarez, Ba and RVP.
    Midfield of Silva, Bale, Dempsey, Moses and Cabaye.
    2.7m in the bank.

    So, need to sell 1 forward and 1 midfielder.

    Is it Suarez and Silva OUT
    Rooney and Walcott IN?

If you've scored big this week you could sacrifice some points but otherwise you need to be damn sure you're gonna get a reurn and make ground on your competitors... tak a look where you would be in your leagues with a 12 point fine and then decide if you have the stomach for it.

        yeah, the thing is Ba, Yaya, Silva, and Taylor are giving me nothing. If I get RVP, Valencia, Caulker, and a scrap mid...I could make it up in one week...and then it's all upside.

          There's no gaurentee that those players won't out perform RVP, VAL & Caulker next week though. Spread your transfers out, spread your risk, play conservativly, be lucky. that's all this game is.

    In the captain debate if Van Persie does nothing else then Suarez can draw another blank vs Everton and only be 2 points behind not counting bonus points. Does show how a DGW can really compensate. Therefore all the Suarez disappointment may be unwarranted as miracles may happen and he may get something. I captained RVP personally so really hoping he scores again.

      I was saying something along those lines earlier. For RVP to score the amount of goals he does, with the (generally lack of) quality teammates supplying him, is truly a testament to RVP's class.

      Put him in Barca or Real and I think he could outscore either of the 2 you mentioned.
