The penultimate fixture in Gameweek 28 brought us yet another dramatic finale involving Arsenal as Arsene Wenger’s side bundled a winning goal at the death to deny a battling Newcastle.

Statistically, there were some outstanding performances on show which we will break down in a moment, along with our prediction for the Fantasy Premier League bonus points.

Firstly, there was also a dispute involving the assist for the winning goal. The assist for the touch on Theo Walcott’s cross was first awarded to Robin Van Persie and then removed and handed to Aaron Ramsey. It’s unclear whether Ramsey did indeed get a clear touch on the cross before it was blocked by the defender in the box but, interestingly, Opta have also confirmed a Ramsey touch on Walcott’s cross. While this goal and the award of the assist could yet be reviewed by the Press Association, right now it sits with Ramsey – denying Walcott his second assist on a night where he sparkled on the right flank.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Like so many others, I am saved somewhat by RVP's 3 baps. I feel slightly less aggrieved for not captaining Roonpig now. I think Verm was a bit robbed though, thought he was nailed on for 3, suppose not keeping a CS cost him.

    2) Why is Bolton/Spurs a doubt in Gameweek 34? Is the revised fixture likely to fall into the same gameweek?

      1) All going ahead as per the schedule.
      2) The fixture will definitely clash with the FA Cup, there's no news curently as to when it will be rearranged so it could still be in the same gameweek.

      We like Odem for the coming weeks - Watchlist on the way on him. Silva to Young kind of makes sense but I'm still a little worried over rotation - for me, if you have Rooney, Walcott is looking slightly more favourable given his form.

    This was a previously a reply to Manani but I feel it may be an interesting point of debate. In my opinion it's counter productive to check if a points hit actually came off by looking purely at the points your old players received compared to their replacements.

    For instance take my 8 pt hit:
    Aguero(1), Sess(0), Kompany(0), Ba(2) = 11pts
    or
    Rooney(13), Surman(2), Enrique(2), Suarez(2) = 19pts

    If you look it like that in black in white then yes it was worth it (+8 profit thus far) but that rules out the possibility I could have just done 2 FTs for Rooney and Surman which would have been much more profitable (unless Suarez goes berserk :oops:)

    Also if I had not done the last hit for Kompany, I may also have played Caulker (instead of taking a hit to play Enrique) or even had Moses come off my bench for one of the injured/suspended players. When you start including all these factors then my points hit can also be seen as a huge failure.

    It’s pointless thinking about the ifs and buts of your transfer hits but just as bad is just focusing on the end result. The end result is often settled by luck, and you can't affect that. What you can affect is your decision making process and that is what you should focus on, not the end result.

      It was a tough week - the suspension of Sess, the injury to Kompany, the double gameweek, Rooney's form. Had I not had the WC I think I would have had to take at least a 4 point on the chin. I've tried to avoid hits all season but sometimes, if they can help you get players early giving you the opportunity to exploit future transfers, it can be well worth it.

        Wholeheartedly agree.

        Unlike your lucky self I didn't have the WC to play with this week. I am risk-averse when it comes to transfer hits on FPL but this week a lot of factors (most of which you listed) aligned which made it worthwhile in my view. Okay so the result hasn't been quite as good as I hoped but I don't think it was a bad decision.

      Reina 2, Enrique 2, Rooney 13 - 4 point hit = 13 points

      Still one game to go but apparently only just worth it!

      I guess it is pretty important to review things like this but in most peoples' cases (I hope) hits are for an extended period of time so it should be reviewed over at least a 3 week period really! Will keep tabs on this particular hit as it was pretty risky...

            With DGW players it's almost semi-long-term within one gameweek though if you catch my drift?

            I will have had Skrtel, Enrique and Suarez for 2 fixtures already after this gameweek. 2 of them will certainly play a 3rd fixture for my team in GW29.

      I thought Rosicky, Arteta and Sagna were the best Arsenal players. Walcott didnt overly impress me, and when he had a simple ball to roll back to Rosicky he fluffed the pass by smacking it with far too much pace throwing Rosicky.
      Walcott was ok, but not much more than that.
