Captains

Vote in the Captain Poll for Gameweek 17

Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur options are likely to be the first port of call for the captaincy in Gameweek 17.

Both sides have favourable home fixtures to look forward to, with the defending champions hosting an Everton side with just one clean sheet on the road this season.

Predicting the Pep Guardiola roulette will as ever complicate matters with Raheem Sterling (£11.5m) and Leroy Sané (£9.5m) perhaps the most likely to start.

Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m), who has three goals and two assists in his last five starts, stands an outside chance of inclusion, while a return to full fitness of Sergio Aguero (£11.2m) would make him a strong candidate too.

No player has had more shots in the box in home matches this season than the Argentinian striker.

Spurs options are sure to be considered this week as they host a Burnley side that has been defensively troubled this season.

The Clarets remain bottom of the league for goal attempts and shots in the box allowed meaning that Harry Kane (£12.5m) will have plenty of opportunities to score at Wembley.

With his Gameweek 16 rest out of the way, the talismanic striker should be in line to start against Burnley, although Fantasy managers were fairly assured he would feature from the beginning at Leicester.

In his place at the King Power Stadium was Son Heung-min (£8.5m), whose 14-point haul took his average since Gameweek 13 to 8.75 points per game.

Christian Eriksen (£9.3m) may also get a look in if he looks as if he will return to the starting line-up. The injury problems for Kieran Trippier continue to play into the Danish international’s hands as he looks to have reclaimed set-piece responsibilities.

It will be interesting to see if Mohamed Salah‘s (£13.0m) hat-trick against Bournemouth will influence his backing this week. Liverpool host Manchester United, who typically try a defensive style of play when they visit Anfield with Jose Mourinho in charge, but the Red Devils have just two clean sheets this season.

That defensive vulnerability could lead to owners of Sadio Mané (£9.7m), Xherdan Shaqiri (£7.1m) or Roberto Firmino (£9.2m) considering them for the captaincy too.

Those who have still held onto Eden Hazard (£10.9m) may also be looking at him for Chelsea’s trip to Brighton. The Belgian has consistently returned points in the last three Gameweeks, a total of 20 in his last three matches from four assists.

Arsenal’s trip to Southampton could also yield some options with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.5m) and Alexandre Lacazette (£9.6m) the most likely to take advantage of the Saints.

Perhaps. I'm sort of worried that Poch saw that they can beat the lesser teams without Kane.

Think he might rest him for the CC with Arsenal. Anyone else and I doubt they'd bother, but Arsenal is different.

WC active. Which one looks better:

    A) 4-4-2
    Fab – (Hamer)
    TAA – Doherty – Digne – Schindler – (WB)
    Sterling – Haz – Son – Fanderson – (Gunnarson)
    Auba – Kane – (Kamara)

    B) 3-4-3
    Fab – (Hamer)
    TAA – Doherty – Kola – (Balbu – WB)
    Sterling – Son – Sane/Eriksen – Fanderson – (Gunnarson)
    Auba – Wilson – Aguero

      I like A more than B.

      Kane essential this week.

Here's some numbers for you all for the big 6 players. If you'd have captained them in all of these matches they'd have returned the following average points per game (ignoring any matches they didn't play a part in):

    Home Matches:

    Sterling - 21.33
    Aguero - 19.14
    Salah - 15.14
    Hazard - 15.11
    Aubameyang - 11.11
    Kane - 10.00

    Away Matches:

    Aubameyang - 13.71
    Salah - 12.89
    Sterling - 12.00
    Hazard - 11.67
    Kane - 11.20
    Aguero - 5.00

There's quite a clear separation of teams in the current PL table, Top 5 teams (42 > 34 points), Middle 8 teams (26 > 21 points) and Bottom 7 teams (14 > 9 points) so I've also looked at their performance vs those group of teams:

    Top 5:

    Hazard - 12.00
    Aubameyang - 11.00
    Sterling - 9.00
    Kane - 8.00
    Salah - 4.50
    Aguero - 3.33

    Middle 8:

    Sterling - 17.20
    Salah - 16.67
    Kane - 10.33
    Aubameyang - 10.00
    Aguero - 9.50
    Hazard - 9.20

    Bottom 7:

    Sterling - 22.50
    Aguero - 19.33
    Hazard - 18.67
    Salah - 17.33
    Aubameyang - 16.40
    Kane - 13.00

    Robertson – Laporte – Alonso – Doherty – AWB
    Salah – Hazard – Richarlison – Fraser – Gunnarsson

    2FT, 0ITB

He won’t score a hat trick every week.

Especially as not every keeper will parry the ball to him... and get away with an offside decision and go on and score from it in the same game.

Definitely - at least until Mendy fit - I’m considering Sterling > him when I get two FT’s with one to burn. Not sure I can ever captain sterling with Kane/Auba (Sterling can always be benched - but Sané is 2.0 cheaper)

Hi there, this is for anyone who plays Fifa19 on the PS4.

A couple of season's ago we set up FFScout FC which is a pro clubs Fifa team specifically for the Fantasy Football Scout community. We have a core group of 15 players from this site and make our way through the divisions, currently div 3, we get together regularly online in the evenings (UK time) to play and it's great fun.

Would you like to join the FFScout FC team?

We are looking for new players in all positions and of any standard. We tend to work out who plays where when we know who is online for a session and it works best when there are at least 6 of us on at once. If you haven't played Pro Clubs before but enjoy playing Fifa then this could also be perfect for you.

If you are keen to join us then please email our Captain and founder Derek Goud AKA Goldman (email in article below), and you can join the WhatsApp group we use to organise our sessions. Alternatively please reply below if you have any questions.

For more info see the post from last season on the site

    https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2017/09/26/fifa-18-ffscout-community-pro-club/

    Cheers

I’ve got Felipe and Rich. Who better than Bilva for a Martial swap?

Defence rotation with Digne Doherty and AWB not great next few games. Loathe to get rid of any but is AWB to Schindler for better rotation worth doing?

    Digne Doherty AWB Kolasinac TAA

      * enough in bank (1.5 m ) for Digne to Laporte ?

Digne goes on a great run of fixtures starting GW 19. I would hold. AWB to Luiz or Laporte. Schindler's fixtures look compelling, however HUD defense is anything but appealing. Burnley has conceded five more goals then HUD, but has recorded one more cs.

    B) Hazard to Sterling

Since preseason last season Salah has never spent a single second out of any of my FPL teams.

    Fraser/Dunk to Anderson/Digne for a -8? Have 1.9 ITB.

Appreciate it means getting Digne right before city and spurs but I can only afford to do this move now before price increases.

Depends on the rest of your squad and moves you’ve already made, but for a -8 definitely not

    Last week it was:
    Salah can thaul
    Salah can t score away
    Salah cant get bonus points
    Salah fixtures are not appealing
    Salah price is not justified

    This week:
Salah will not do it again

The guy broke all numbers last year, leading scorer this year , excellent stats every match, and still find excuses, Price is high yes, but so is Kane.
So if you dont have him don t buy, if you already made the mistake and have him in your team please sell immediately, i would like get those points alone

    How does it look?

    Fab
    AWB Robbo Alonso Belerin
    Sterling Richa FAnderson
    Chicha Kane(C) Auba

    Subs: Button, Camarasa, Kenedy, Digne

    Doing after Champ league:
    Salah to Sterling
    Sucess to Chicha (-4)

Think my WC is going to come down to whether I go for Kane and a 7m mid or keep my current WC team with Auba and Son.

Probably Auba and Son v Kane and Richarlison.

Sterling and Salah other 2 big hitters.

Likelihood of Aguero being fit for Saturday? He's a tough one and I could easily see Pep having left him out of Chelsea as a precaution as nobody appears to have figured him out yet.
I'm also tempted to get de Bruyne as I have a feeling he'll be on the bench tomorrow night.
I'd take a 4 point hit to do D Silva, Wijnaldum, Lacazette > de Bruyne, Dier, Firmino.
