FFS Cup first round draw revealed for Gameweek 29

The first round draw of the second FFS Cup of 2018/19 has now taken place so managers can now discover if they made it through the qualifying stage.

Just under 1,200 managers applied for the 512 places available in the first round draw, with the Gameweek 28 qualifying score set at 56 (after hits) and an overall rank of 56,202 or better needed for those hitting that total exactly.

Seven former champions – Gribude, Wild Rover, MCH, Joe, 2EyedTurk, A Manager Has No Name and donnellyc – were exempt from the qualifying score and received a bye upon submitting their applications.

Angelneo was the lucky manager to squeak through in 512th place, while Nordeast was desperately unfortunate to miss out. He also had a Gameweek 28 score of 56 but was below the cut-off for overall rank, currently at 62,499.

          Gonna be harsh, haha.

          Leno seems unnecessary - get a keeper for the blanks there.

          Much better options than Bednarek if you can just stretch a tiny bit further.

          Shaw is good if you can bench/transfer out for blanks but might be better options.

          Dilva could pay off but considering blanks don't think he's one worth getting.

          You can do better than Zaha for his price and cheaper.

          Wouldn't change all of them if you back them, it's your WC so back who you think will do best, don't follow all the crowds. Just some pointers haha, good luck!

          If you go down that route you need to be mindful of blank gw33. Very hard to do with that strategy in my opinion. . If you wildcard to the perfect GW32 team you will almost certainly have an abysmal team for GW33.

              Depends on your current team, but if it’s not too late for you then prepare your team for GW31 (which will also prelate it for GW33. Then free hit GW32. You can then wildcard in GW34 to prepare a bench boost team for GW35.

              There are other strategies but that’s ‘the Template’

    Random thought, to anyone pondering a hit down the line for a gw31 player, it's essentially a -2 and if they have better fixtures/form than anyone you are holding then no reason to wait. Get the benefit now

      I sold Rashford, Llorente and AWB for Higuain, Barnes and TAA (-8).

      While the -8 wasn't ideal, I knew that the players I was selling will blank and those coming in may play both GW31 and 33.

      More seriously - GW31 and GW 33 will have blanks, GW31 confirmed GW 33 will depend on next fa cup results. Doubles in GW32 and GW35.

      Default strategy is prep for blank GW31, free hit 32, wildcard 34, bench boost 35 , triple captain Salah vs Huddersfield in one of the last weeks
