Join us live for Double Gameweek 32 captain video

Join us live on YouTube today for the Double Gameweek 32 captaincy video.

Joe and David will be discussing who should have the armband for this weekend’s fixtures at 12:30 pm.

You can watch the video either embedded in this article below or on our YouTube channel – and if you miss the broadcast, you can always catch up on it at a later date.

Manchester City certainly have the most appealing set of fixtures as they travel to Fulham and host Cardiff.

That’s why it is no surprise to see Sergio Aguero (£11.8m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) top of the latest poll.

The Argentinian has been the leader since it began and currently sits on 54%.

However, his English colleague has enjoyed a boost in the vote ever since scoring a hat-trick for his country last week.

Before England’s 5-0 win over the Czech Republic, Aguero had 61% in the poll and Sterling just 19%.

As of Monday morning, it’s now 27% for the midfielder. Obviously, Fantasy Football Scout users cannot change the recipient of their first and only vote in our poll, so it is possible that some who initially went for Aguero may have changed their mind.

But, at the very least, we can see a new voting trend that has shifted the numbers between the two players due to external factors.

In our video, we will also discuss some of the less considered options, such as Eden Hazard (£10.9m), Harry Kane (£12.5m) and Ederson (£5.6m), all of whom have under 6% backing in the poll.

Does this team justify no Sterling?

    Ederson
    Duffy / Tomkins / Azpi
Pogba / Hazard Dilva / Mili
    Kun / Kane / Zaha

      I like it personnally.
I trust Dilva is more key against parked busses than Sterling is and it frees funds to either kane or Kaku or defense

This is a bias. City have about a 50% chance of a clean sheet in each game so you'd expect 1 clean sheet across the two games and therefore 8-10 points from EdersonLaporte (plus any attacking returns).

        1. StoichkovFPL
          • 8 Years
          5 years, 26 days ago

Ofc its bias. It what I see there. Ederson nailed for both as Silva isnt. Thats a factor too.

            • 10 Years
            5 years, 26 days ago

You should try filter bias out of your advice and give advice based on objective criteria.

            1. StoichkovFPL
              • 8 Years
              5 years, 26 days ago

              Objective criteria:
Ederson will play both with high chance gor 2 x CS
Dilva will most probably play one and most points should get Sterling and Aguero

              1. JasonG123
                • 10 Years
                5 years, 26 days ago

No. Objective criteria: 50% chance of a clean sheet in each game (based on betting odds).

Therefore, you can reasonably 'expect' one clean sheet over the two games.

People who place multis on the favourites all the time still lose on average.

I would give about 80% vs cardiff. Maybe 50% vs fulham. But it still looks like good chance for 2cs.

Ederson or Laporte looks like a safe 8 to 12 points, but D Silva is making my team at the minute because it's more fun (and because Kepa/Azpi/Luiz looks like an only slightly less safe 8-12 points to replace Ed/Laporte)

      1. F_Ivanovic
        • 8 Years
        5 years, 26 days ago

There's 4 defender spots though and only 2 of them free for Chelsea. Meaning you still have 2 to get.

It's less about how well I think D.Silva might do (actually think rotation is quite high) - I think other mids could match/only do slightly worse than D.Silva whereas I don't think there are other defenders that have close to what a City defender has.

I have Deulo but I don't like him. If he's rested for the Fulham game he's a terrible pick.
I think I'll be restructuring to put David Silva in that last spot, there's a dearth of options at that price point in midfield. Might be worth while spending the cash on a defender and going 4-4-2?

      1. SpaceCadet
        • 10 Years
        5 years, 26 days ago

That's the concern with deulo. I initially had dsilva with rashford but looking at options in case lukaku is fit and rashford is not. Cheers

      1.
Ederson slightly more than Laporte (as in, I think they'll both start both games, but IF Laporte was rotated would any of us be shocked? - but surely no way Ederson would be.)
      - and Luiz probably has slightly better attacking threat too.

The thing is this is not my FH so I am looking for the best long term option. Which is why I am confused,

If I get Laporte I need to fiddle with my defence to get atleast 8 playing for GW 33 but if I go Luiz then I will need Boruc, which means I will be able to field 9.

Hazard seems to be hitting some form at the moment. 4 goals in his last 4 games for club and country. Right in time for the transfer window.

I think he could slip under the radar as a captaincy option with all the talk around the City duo.

Question on Watford + Wolves assets:

Are we sure there will be rotation? They have 5 whole days until their fa-cup game (which is more than enough as far as 'rest' is concerned) and more importantly, if city win the fa-cup (which is quite likely) then the 7th placed team will get a place in the EL-qualifiers. Surely they have *at least* as good a chance to finish 7th, as they do beating city in a potential final (if they get passed each other in the semis)?

Jimenez wasn't rested the last time, and as far as Deulofeu / Deeney goes I'd say there's a difference resting/rotating offensive players at city away vs Fulham at home.

Or is there something I've missed/misunderstood here? Otherwise players like Jonny, Jimi, Jota, Deulofeu, Deeney etc are great options imo

The fact that Watford rotationed their entire team one full week prior to the Palace QF match should be enough of a red flag to anyone considering Watford players (aside from Foster).

Jimenez also plays for Mexico 3 days (I think) before the Saturday game, which makes him a big concern.

...and yes Rotationed is a word.

even if it isn't, it should be a word 🙂

However I suspect that rotating the team a head of an away game to city is quite different from a home game to fulham. Wouldn't be shocked if they started with most (if not all) of their best players, and then maybe hooked them once(if) they were a couple of goals a head.

And the further a long a season we get, the more is at stake for each game. I might be wrong ofc, but for me it just doesn't make any sense to rotate the entire team in a game that still matters a lot to them.

With Jimenez I'm completely on board, a game in California that ends approximately 72 hours ahead of their game is enough for me, But I am still considering the likes of Jonny and/or Jota, as well as Deu + Foster

Jiminez is the one I'd bet to start both games among the FPl options in that team. Indispensable up top. The others can be shifted here and there, (Jonny->Vinny, Jota-.Gibbs-White/Cavaliero/Traore), but almost impossible to put someone else in Jimmy's shoes.

Its the biggest game of the season for Wolves and Watford, there is no way they will pick their strongest teams 3 times in a week.

Forget what has happened so far this season, just look at it now as 3 games in a week with one of those games being the most important game of the season, its getting to the end of the season and players fatigued … why play the same strongest 11 in all 3 games when there is a squad of 15 or 16 players of equal ability desperate to play football ?

Its been discussed in great detail already, players get rotated in doubles, but if you are not worried about it then select players from Wolves and Watford 🙂

Perhaps you're right. I just realized that finishing 7th in the league also gives them a spot in europe for next season (albeit that doesn't warrant a trophy) and think it's questionable to not prioritize those games as well. It's not like they've been playing every 3 days all season, and most of them will have had a two weeks rest, I wouldn't be surprised if they could manage it once.

But like you said, we will see 🙂

Whilst city fixtures are amazing you just can't trust pep and no matter how many people argue that sterling and aguero will start both games I find it difficult to believe. They have a semi final in the cup at Wembley. Pep isn't going to go weak there is he?

Premier League and Champs League are the main priorities for City. He simply cannot afford to rest his best in the prem. I honestly beleive he’ll use the FA Cup as an opportunity to rest them and play Jesus/Mahrez/Sane.

except that Pep did shake it up in their double game week earlier in the season against Everton when KdB & Sterling were rested in the PL and then the strongest possible team put out in the EFL Cup including KdB & Sterling?

Pep is one of the best managers in the world, but a f**king nightmare for FPL.

But to be fair, City have the chance to rip the title away from Liverpool's clutches. Imagine Spurs holding the Pool to a draw, and Pep wins his two games. No, I think Pep is going to try to win it this GW. Sterling and Kun to start both.

The title is most likely going to the last day. Even if Pool drop points to Spurs, City have a stretch of Spurs, Spurs, Palace, United, Spurs, Burnley or something like that. They'll drop points there.

Probably, you would fancy both teams to beat Brighton and Wolves respectively - especially if Wolves have nothing to play for, and maybe an FA cup final ahead.

But anything could happen of course.

Also United at home to Cardiff - if United need a win for top four, and Cardiff need to better the Brighton result!

              BOOK IT PREMIER LEAGUE!

Semi Final in the FA cup semi's fairly meh considering they play Spurs just 3 days after that in the UCL.

I can see Sterling and Aguero starting both DGW games, rested in the semi's and then playing against Spurs in the UCL, allowing for 7 days rest, and when you factor in how tight the League is this season...

Exactly. Look what happened against Swansea when the best were rested. And look what happened in the second half when they came on. If swansea can almost cause an upset against the back ups, he will not risk a similar scenario in the league.

While there is a good argument to this view, I think it is too much of a risk not to captain Kun or Sterling when they have these two easy games in dgw32, and they are in a very tight race for the EPL. Seems like the right play to assume these two players start both games, and to captain one of them.

      Just watched the Netherlands-Germany game.

I remember when Tony Pulis said that Gnabry wasn't "at the required level" for West Brom? That was a weird time haha.

VanDijk-DeLigt pairing clearly a work in progress, but definitely immense potential to be the best CB pairing ever in international football (calm down, Spain fans, I said *potential*).

Love this regeneration of the German squad. Neuer gave a brilliatn performance to shut up those who said Ter Stegen should usurp him now. "Ummm . . how about no?"

I thought Low couldn't take Germnay any further after the last WC disaster, but I guess an old dog can learn new tricks?

Never leave out Sane ever again. First name on the team sheet.

Not convinced by the Dutch full backs. Both looked questionable several times during the match.

First time I've heard of Nico Schulz. MoTM for me, excellent performance.

Exactly. One of the reasons why the Puyol-Pique pairing was so successful was because they played together every week on club level. De Ligt joining Liverpool will really benefit the Netherlands, and he is still young, so yes, he can just move to Barca when he's 25/26.

Same with Bonucci and Chiellini. Trouble is with the way the market is going, if he joins Liverpool he could be priced out of a move to Barcelona. Edwards already has an agreement with Barcelona where they need to pay an additional 80m (iirc) for any player they sign from Liverpool.

Never heard of that, wow. That would definitely be a stumbling block for any DeLigt->Liverpool move. Was this in effect during the Suarez and Coutinho transfers?

          Agreed.
Don't sell Son, he could be a nice differential this week.

Probably play Etheridge and hope for a miracle, or a penalty save!

I mean you have a team full of DGWers...were you planning to play Kola ahead of any of the DGW defenders? If not, maybe look at a move involving him and Pereira to bring in one of the defenders you want, and a budget option.

        Roll this week's FT
Brooks first sub, Kola second, Pereira third

Use two FTs to prepare for next GW's blanks

You already have ELEVEN players with DGWs. I guess your GW31 FH taught you that vogue players don't necessarily equal high points, so consider your squad ready for GW32 and play the TC on Kun/Raz
