The Dugout Discussion opens today for two Premier League games involving some of it’s most enjoyable teams to watch. Third-place chasing Spurs take on the exciting Swansea City after Newcastle host Liverpool, with the former fighting for European football.

The team news from the game at The Sports Direct Arena is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Gutierrez, Guthrie, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Ba.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Jose Enrique, Shelvey, Spearing, Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy.

Alan Pardew is without the injured Fabricio Coloccini, which partners James Perch with Mike Williamson in central defence and puts Jonas Gutierrez in the left-back berth. It’s the same attacking mentality that served them so well at West Brom.

Liverpool also name an attacking side, knowing that a win here is essential if they want to overhaul the Magpies. Andy Carroll returns to his former stomping ground and starts alongside Luis Suarez.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom will remain open all day, and can be accessed right here.

Swapping Simpson for Santon in my Jan WC is my biggest regret of the season, has had such a knock on effect on the rest of my defence.

I let someone on here sway me re: Santon's attacking potential. I also did Naylor for Senderos, that one made a tad more sense due to Swans poor fixtures at the time, but still now it's really haunting me, and forcing a lot more transfers on defence than I originally needed. Live and learn though eh.

How many times have we benched a Simpson CS but played him at Craven and WHL?

Yes, super Krul clean sheet. Wish I doubled up with Simpson now!

    How do these changes sound:

    Pog > Jalevic
    McClean > Walcott
    Lampard > Ben Arfa

    Two free so -4.

    Current team linked

It is 100% definitely not Ben Arfa's. The camera up behind the goal shows he was some way away from touching it.

Presumably has to be Ba's, but this is the crazy world of FPL, so who the hell knows?

    In an argument with someone...

Can you send someone off and book the other player for diving (e.g. Reina vs Perch).

I know the booking was for the trip, but is the above possible? I argued it's not.
