The Dugout Discussion opens today for two Premier League games involving some of it’s most enjoyable teams to watch. Third-place chasing Spurs take on the exciting Swansea City after Newcastle host Liverpool, with the former fighting for European football.

The team news from the game at The Sports Direct Arena is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Williamson, Perch, Gutierrez, Guthrie, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Ba.

Liverpool XI: Reina, Flanagan, Carragher, Skrtel, Jose Enrique, Shelvey, Spearing, Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy.

Alan Pardew is without the injured Fabricio Coloccini, which partners James Perch with Mike Williamson in central defence and puts Jonas Gutierrez in the left-back berth. It’s the same attacking mentality that served them so well at West Brom.

Liverpool also name an attacking side, knowing that a win here is essential if they want to overhaul the Magpies. Andy Carroll returns to his former stomping ground and starts alongside Luis Suarez.

        Just thought I'd make a rare appearance to cheer up the long suffering denizens of Dalglish. I was once under his oppressive regime, and watched him fritter money away on shite signings whilst condemning us to obscurity so I thought Liverpool fans would feel happy in the knowledge that there is light at the end of Dalglish's tunnel.

        I'm thoughtful like that.

    Alreet lads. Just come home from watching the match, so not had a chance to check through the comments. Still problems with the fpl site? It keeps trying to get me to register rather than take me to my team.

    I need to post so that I can check my points through my link. Well happy with the lads today. Not just because i've got both dave and barfa. Meant a lot to beat them today, especially after carroll and enrique left for bigger and better things! Pretty gutted that dave went off when he did. I had a fiver on him for a hat-trick at 50-1, plus a fiver on us to win by more than 2!! I guess i'll have to be happy with the result, and his two goals plus maximum bonus!
