The Members Paddy Power Cup II reaches its climax over the Easter period, with a champion set to be crowned after a couple of Gameweeks in quick succession. With the goal now in sight, eight Fantasy managers went head-to-head in Gameweek 31 in the Quarter-Finals and here’s how they played out…

1The Lord6362howie_c
2Fuzzy Dunlop6661BilboBaggins
3Pablod5448followthehearts
4KevIRL5062mch

With KevIRL bowing out, it’s now the Quarter-Finals top-scorer, Fuzzy Dunlop, who is the highest ranked in the competition, sitting 2,253rd overall. He’s been drawn against the tournament underdog in 79,585th ranked Pablod, while The Lord, progressing after a close encounter with howie_c, takes on mch, who eliminated the aforementioned KevIRL.

To clarify, here are the two match-ups in all their glory…

1The LordVs.mch
2PablodVs.Fuzzy Dunlop

Remember, a win here guarantees a prize and only two consecutive bad Gameweeks will see one of our remaining contingent going home empty-handed.

The fixtures are to be played across the upcoming Gameweek 32. Good luck to all four of our Semi-Finalists!

I don't know... I've kept him for so long, and he might be such a great differential if he is finally back this weekend. But I guess you're all right and I'll have to sell him for Tony V if SAF gives no hints regarding him before the deadline...

It's almost like you have a version of Stockholm Syndrome. LOL
Can't see Nani getting straight back in personally.
He's surely down in the pecking order at Man Ure and match fitness will likely be an issue for the next week or two.

I've seen a guy in my league who captained him last week and got 24 points while everone else enjoyed just 4 from RvP or 12 from Rooney.
But on the flip side, this guy captained Clichy this week...

      Yes.

      Or Val.

But Rooney is also a good option.

But Evans has form and consistany

      But Val . . . .

And so my Capt choice goes.

Thought i'd a genuinely useful bit of stats for the people who are still so keen to get rid of Ba.

    Pre-Cisse
    Games: 19
    Chances created: 9
    Shots: 60
    Shots average: 3.16
    Chances created average: 0.47

    Post-Cisse
    Games: 8
    Chances created: 5
    Shots: 26
    Shots average: 3.25
    Chances created average: 0.63

So you'll see that he's actually having more shots on goal than he was before Cisse came. When you consider it's 11 games. That's very impressive. He's also making more crosses, having more touches and passes. The only thing that's lacking is the goals and when you consider that Robin van Persie has scored just 9 f his 26 Premier League goals and Sergio Aguero has managed just 4 of his 17 in that same time since Christmas, you can't help but the think the goals will eventually come.

In my mind it is. Either could get high points but Dempsey away form against a team fighting for survival means I'd go with Bale.

I've got Dyer though so i'm going to play both.

      Tough call.

Dempsey: poor away form, relegation battle for Bolton, Bolton on the up after the away win vs Wolves. However, beating Wolves might mean nothing, really. Dempsey playing upfront and has looked good in the last 3 games that Ive watched (Swansea, where Fulham lost 3-0, United, Norwich).

Bale: Sunderland are on the up right now and I dont see a Tottenham rout or anything. But Bale can pull out an assist agaisnt anyone really.

Hmmm. Id probably do the risky thing and bench Bale, but would prefer to play both if I could. The main consideration here is that if Fulham score, its most likely Dempsey, whereas Tottenham can score against Sunderland without Bale, and I see Sunderland as tougher opponents than Bolton.

        well put

i have a similar decision choosing to bench one of Yak, Bale or Dempsey, currently Yak is warming my bench but I don't like to bet against a striker in a team fighting against relegation.

Rooney is much better at home. I've learnt this the hard way a few times this season. At home Rooney is a great captain choice. Away Valencia is the man, when Man Utd have esy opponents.

Those days of Rooney getting a zillion points away to the likes of Hull and Portsmouth are long gone.

Why Lampard/Ramires over Mata? Etheringtons a good shout considering fixtures after the DGW. I want Petrov for Boltons 1st DGW but not the second one. Trying to figure out how to get him in (and then trade him straight back out).

I'm the complete opposite. In real life he's brilliant; it's in FPL that I have my doubts. He's seems a bit too Modric-esque for me to want to shell out the best part of 10m for.

He's the only top foreign import who's managed more shots and created more chances on average this side of Christmas. If it wasn't for rotation and me not really knowing what's gonna happen with Chelsea, he'd be a definite for me.

If you're chasing a lead I guess it's worth doing but DGW's are dangerous territory.
They're like games in hand. Nice to have and see but they don't mean much usually if you don't win them.
