The best West Ham players for their appealing fixtures

West Ham players are now on the Fantasy Premier League radar after their 3-1 win over Watford.

The Hammers have also have a favourable streak of fixtures coming up to further interest in their assets.

Norwich come to the London Stadium in Gameweek 4 having conceded eight goals in their first three matches of the season.

After that, West Ham travel to newly-promoted Aston Villa, who have just one clean sheet in 2019/20 thus far, which came against a goal-shy Everton side last Friday.

Manchester United and Crystal Palace are the next two sides to travel to East London (in Gameweeks 6 and 8 respectively), before Manuel Pellegrini’s men travel to Bournemouth and Everton.

However, Fantasy managers will still have to ensure they choose the right West Ham player to capitalise on the form and fixtures.

We have gone over the numbers from their first three matches of 2019/20 to work out who that might be.

As this article uses data from the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area, only those who have signed up for the new campaign can access it in full.

    Mount or Lanzini?

Thinking Lanzini for 2/3 GWs then downgrade

Really, even with WOL and LIV in the next 3 as opposes to NOR and VIL?

My only concern would be Mount price rises.

I really dislike planning short term hokey cokey moves. It never really works out the way you plan like: "I'll get X player for 2 weeks then switch" - it just doesn't work like that.

If a player does well and is going up in price, you won't want to get rid of them even if their fixtures stiffen. Likely, you will just address some other aspect of your team that is weak and needs to be fixed instead.

You're probably right. I do think Mount is a safer bet in terms of points and TV. I'll take the hit and go Jota and perez to barnes and mount.

Only real issues in my team and was never convinced by them anyway! Only makes it worse

Seems to be liable for some assists and 2 defences that could concede first.

I was but just looking for confirmation haha!

Seems Barnes will rise and Perez will drop so the -4 to do this probably needs to happen tonight annoyingly! Can't afford to keep bleeding TV on Perez and Barnes rising

See Camzy's point on short term moves

I try to eliminate H2H thinking in FPL. Such thoughts as "Aguero will be the highest scorer in GW4 so I must get him, then I'll move him on in GW5/6 when Jesus returns". Going for the highest score in a single GW by spending transfers and hits on players you plan to move on within a week or two. Maybe it's the allure of the successes of previous "manager of the week" winners or the glorious free hits. Not sure why it's so common

Case in point: Auba-Kane hokey cokey has seemingly disappeared from FFS comments since GW3's events

There's no guarantee that it will work or fail. The problem is that you can get trapped by other fires in the team, so medium/long term moves tend to win out on average. The market is also waaayyyy too volatile

Transfers made on Saturday to beat any price rises:

    Pope (Button)
    Laporte VVD Digne (Montoya Rico)
    Dendonker Mount KDB Sterling(c) Salah
    Haller Pukki (Greenwood)

Not happy with either Dendonker or Montoya this week if I'm being honest. Other than that, GTG?

Assuming Martial out means could go Martial to KDB. Which is best move to release funds? Moura to

    A Ceballos
    B McGinn
    C Cantwell ( plus .9 m in bank)
D Play Moura and Martial to Maddison or Lanzini on free ( which one?)
E Make no transfers- play Moura ( NLD can be high scoring) , bench Martial and play Diop or Greenwood

forgot about Zimmerman, just on wild card and wanted a set and forget 4.0 million bench fodder for the season. Rico will Kelly could lose place once players return from injury. Already own Lundstram. I want another 4 mill defender for my bench, Playing 3 at the back TAA, Digne, Zinchenko

    Pope / Heaton

    Dunk / Wan-Bassaka / Robertson / VVD / Reid (I know!)

I would prioritise those not playing. I’d do 2ft on the two you’ve suggested.

Perez hasn’t been great, it could yet come good.

Not at all, especially if you are going to spend the cash on upgrading Martial > Mane. But in isolation straight transfer Kane > Haller is not worth it in my opinion. And based on last week I wasn't overly impressed with Haller. But just my opinion and go with your gut!

Don’t think it is because of one blank. They were toothless last game. He was also very fortunate for his goals v villa. Massive difference in price also. Of course Kane will score more over the season but I can see the temptation.

Yes, I have Cantwell coming in for Martial so I don't need to make a transfer. However, I have exact money to do Kane + Martial > Haller + Mane.

I'd prefer Salah with a -4 next week, but ideally need Haller in at his current price.

Sterling(c) this week, so happy to play Cantwell and wait on Salah until next week.

Based on what though? I'm only going to keep if I hear positive things from Poch regarding Eriksen and Alli. Son, Moura, even Lamela to a degree are looking to create chances for themselves rather than pick a pass for Kane.

Spurs also without their attacking fullbacks, so this isn't like past season glories for Kane. New season, new circumstances.

Got carried away last week bringing him in, and underestimating the Newcastle performance.

I believe he will be up there among the highest scorers. One flukey result was a black swan for many but Spurs fixtures look tasty. A lot af bad luck last weekend but it's not like Spurs will not be back to their usual self and Kane scoring a bunch

Haha, Know the feeling but take f.x. I kept Vardy last weekend despite price drop and no form at all. These vetern proven goal scorers have a way of popping up when you least expect. Just trying to point out that I don't believe it's a no brainer like many other suggested.

Vardy's an interesting one. Didn't like any Leicester players for the opening two games but GW3 and 4 are very decent fixtures so I'm glad you stuck it out.

I feel in a bit of a lose-lose situation: If I stick with Kane and Spurs get rolled over by Arsenal, general FPL opinion says I should've moved him on. There's also the lure of Haller vs Norwich at home (and they're top of the season ticker for attacking returns over their next 7 games). Then if I don't keep, it looks like I'm knee-jerking and not being patient enough. That said, he's gone for Mane/Salah next week, regardless.

Agreed, very fine margins and hard to swim against the flow!
Kane has 9 goals in 9 games vs the Gunners.
I bet you wouldn't be so inclined to move on if you hadn't captained him.
Now the feeling from past experience

I’m in the same position as you with Kane as bought him on my wildcard too.

I’m giving him the birth London derby, should be an open game and it wouldn’t surprise me if he grabs a brace after everyone’s sold him.

Remember v Newcastle on a different day he’d have been given that penalty and scored it and probably finished that sitter he missed at the end too.

Roll the transfer, you’ll be glad of it for the international
      Break.

Yes, having two transfers next week would be a very nice situation to be in. I don't like the market forcing my hand, and have largely resisted it so far.

I'm only going to make a move if Haller gets in the 90's on Friday, as exact funds for Mane. Thankfully, he's heading in the opposite direction. I do prefer Salah though so will mull it over.

This might look like a joke but it’s a serious question.

Mount or Cantwell as a 4th mid. If Cantwell he would rotate with Dendonker and Lundstram. The extra 1.6 itb is comforting.

Not sure Cantwell's output will continue much longer, teams will sit back and counter against them soon enough.

Mount is close to a must have at his price.

I got him in but he doesnt seem very popular. I think alot of people have no faith in Palace,or already have Kelly. He looks like a shrewd investment to me for the next 3/4 weeks. He cant really do any worse then Holebas who I swapped him for

This team is 44k. The plan was to not Wildcard for a while. Am I mad to consider WCing this?

    Pope, Button
    Robertson, Digne, Dunk, Lundstram, Rico
    Salah, Sterling, Martial, McGinn, Dendoncker
    Kane, King, Greenwood

    - Sometimes it's best to strengthen whilst strong
    - But there's not a lot that would need changing
    - I'd like Pukki, Haller, a Man City defender and Aubameyang
    - It potentially hinges on Martial's injury because this team's fixtures are already a bit naff for this week

    What do you think?

I don't think it's worth WC'ing, but can understand the appeak of bolstering whilst already in a strong position.

How likely to play GW4 out of 10?

      Martial

Also if the latter 2 were your bench options and Martial looks unlikely to play would you consider a -4? I'm agonisingly short for KDB :'(
