Is Riyad Mahrez a viable cut-price FPL route into the Man City attack?

Averaging 10.50 points per start and providing better value for money (based on points per million spent) than all other Manchester City assets bar Kevin De Bruyne (£10.0m), Riyad Mahrez (£8.5m) is hovering on the Fantasy Premier League radar at present.

With De Bruyne nursing a groin injury and a doubt for the visit of Wolves on Sunday, the demand for Mahrez’s services may well step up a notch as we approach the weekend.

Currently, the Algerian is the fifth-most-bought FPL midfielder of Gameweek 8.

Successive double-digit hauls against Watford and Everton have increased interest, although he is still very much in differential territory when it comes to FPL ownership (4.1% at the time of writing).

Is he worth considering as a Fantasy option, then, in the weeks ahead?

    Digne to Pereira or robbo? Also have TAA and Leicester fixtures look better

      I moved Digne to Soyuncu last week for the cash. Starting to think not so wise after seeing Perriera in action. Superb game!

    Dendo to Guendouzi or McTom worth a shout this week? Can only afford up to 5.0 with my FT to cover for Cantwell and KDB in case both misses.

      Not sure if Cantwell is worthy of the 4th mid. spot tbh.

        He is at home, so is he my 3.5th mid? (When away, he is rotated)

        Agreed, that's why I am trying to fit in someone who can rotate with him for that 4th mid spot.

      I look at Cantwell Lund Soyuncu and Rose as my fodder and hope I can deal nicely with rotation. it needs a change in formation sometimes though.

    Gtg? Any moves to make or save?

    Pope
    TAA Pieters Lundstrum
    Mane Son Mount Cantwell
    Aguero (c) Abraham Pukki

    Button Rico Soy KDB (1FT 0m itb)

    Haven’t been active this week - what seems to be the move for KDB owners, keep or sell?

      I say you keep KDB until further news come out. And Aguero may not play many minutes as he may be substituted against Wolves because Jesus is Match fit

    Should i Debryunify my team (awesome punt, i know)?

    Pope,
    Otamendi, TAA, Lundstram, Dunk
    Mane, Sterling, Son, Cantwell
    Tammy, Pukki

    Button, KdB, Greenwood, Hanley
    1FT, 1,2 ITB

    Was planning to save FT for after IB, but have several weak spots in the team. Have to field Dunk against Spurs, and Hanley seems to have lost his spot. So now considering options

    A - KdB -> Mahrez
    B - KdB -> Dilva
    C - Dunk -> Tomori
    D - KdB, Greenwood -> Yarmolenko, Vardy
    E - Son, Greenwood -> Yarmolenko, Vardy
    F - save FT

      Very nice word - but surely the spelling should be Debruynify.
      As for the concept, I'm keeping him for now.

        Yes, my bad )
        I'm going to wait for pressers anyhow, to at least know if he'll be back after IB

        Selling Son is also looking like a viable option, since Spurs are so bad right now

        The sensible move may be to hold, but I'm likely selling for similar reasons. Perhaps a straight swap with just 1FT although Mahrez/Silva hav their own risks. Something like D looks best but not sure for a hit. Waiting for press conferences

        Not enough info IMO.
        1 How serious is the injury.
        2 If not is he excused from international duty.
        3 Will Bilva get a ban?
        4 If b
        Bilva does it makes Mahrez appealing.

            Yeah, might as well keep him but I'm worried about him being an injury prone player.

            Might just wait until after international break...but tempted to get Sterling in for him now.

              I agree, but that is also why Pep wont risk him this wknd and NOT send him on IB. ......in my opinion.

            See below about Auba. I watch him a lot and his game involvement is so low to his scoring it makes me feel uneasy.

              around 40 goals in 56 games for Arsenal is nice though
              in an end to end game with Bournemouth, could be good

      Morning guys. I'm looking at the Sako kid at Arsenal......looks better than Pepe but I'm guessing when Laca is back he is bench fodder or is he worth the punt as a 5th mid ??

      A - Keep KDB and play Vardy (liv) leaving Otamendi as my only city player

      B - KBD -> Mahrez and bench Vardy

        Have KDB and want rid of Ceballos.
        KDB to Mahrez seems like the obvious move. Depending on how serious the injury to KDB is though I want a route back.

        If I get Yarmolenko I need KDB to fall by .1 to swap Mahrez to KDB with 1 transfer.
        If I get Mount I need to use both transfers.
        If I get McGinn I can definitely do it in one.

        I haven't seen enough of West Ham or Villa to know if they can sustain. Chelsea are 'safer' form wise (I think) but then will Mount come under any pressure with various players getting fit?

        James could be worth a punt? But I think Manu aren't going to consistently play well this year.

        Any other mids under 7.4 or under 6 worth thinking about? (have cantwell).

        Maherz or Dilva or Bilva? (in the place of KDB)

      4. Mr. Chimes
        • 4 Years
        4 years, 5 months ago

        Want to get McGinn or better midfielder but would have to drop Cantwell... not sure if worth it

        Heaton - Pope

        AWB - Rico - Kelly - Lunds - Tomori
        Salah - KDB - Mount - Cantwell - Nakamba
        Auba - Pukki - Aguero

        0.4 ITB, 2FTs

        Any ideas?
