It’s back on. Sergio Aguero’s finishing and the toil and creativity of Carlos Tevez come to the fore as City rout the Baggies, closing the gap on United thanks to Wigan’s shock 1-0 win at the DW Stadium. Gameweek 33 closed with a night of intrigue and our members can now digest our selection of the key statistics from all ten matches, along with our punt on where the Fantasy Premier League bonus points will be heading…
All this talk about people gettin rid of Rooney is makin me reconsider captainin him.. surely UTD will come out all guns blazin vs Villa after this week though
Open ControlsHe's my captain. I expect a big reaction from united. Also, lets not forget that Villa are terrible
Open Controlsfinally.. some sense.. loads of kneejerkin goin on tonight.. Rooney to Aguero, takin bale out b4 his fine run.. i'm gonna captain rooney, keep bale etc and play 11 this week(even though their 5 defenders) and probably regret it

There's hell of a kneejerk going on with City after that result last night. Norwich won't roll over and I don't see a flood of goals either.
Open ControlsNorwich are on a solid 43 pts though and not much to play for... I can actually see a flood of goal, especially if they line up as they did yesterday with Tevez, Aguero, Nasri and Silva floating around the pitch. Norwich defenders aren't that known for technical ability tbh... 🙂

Here's a look at next year's kit for Chelsea:

I like the golden touch but Cech's outfit is so DULL .....Open ControlsPS: Torres' expression is lol-worthy.
Open ControlsNot bad. Better than the current one...
Open Controlsis it just me or does Frank actually have a little bit of a belly in that picture? 😆
Open ControlsAll that time on the bench couldn't have been too fruitful 😆

I will put Weiman and Silva for GW 34
Does anybody agree with me ?
I think premier league will be very interesting until the end of the seson. Also money for the TV rights will increase if MAN UTD doesn’t win against Villa @ Old Trafford…
MAN CITY can easaly beat Norwitch and there is MAN CITY – MAN UTD game who will watch all the planet if there is tight chances for title champion…
I think MAN UTD is now physicly wasted, and on the other hand, unfortunately, money is money in football.
Sir Alex Ferguson will need truck full of chewing gum for the next games i think…
Please comments and oppinions are very welcome
All the best from Belgrade,

6 hatricks in LA LIGA did or could Ronaldo do that in the prem ? ?
Open Controlswell he didnt so just shows how weak la liga is
Open Controlsla-liga boasts rightfully of 2 of the best teams of the world. But the rest of the la-liga is indeed exceptionally weak. Compare that to the premier league where you have a top-6 against whom results can swing either way at any point of time, and you have teams like stoke and swansea, everton and even norwich who perform exceptionally well against the big teams.
Open ControlsExceptionally weak? I must have imagined Man Utd getting schooled by Bilbao.. and the fact that there are 2 teams in the latter stages of the Europa League, a competition viewed with scorn but which English teams can't seem to win.
Open ControlsBecause they don't care. How could utd even be happy with winning europa. Seriously to me winning the europa is hardly worth of any recognition. I just can't take the competition seriously. In fact it's like mocking utd.
I am sure you disagree but I really believe that losing to Bilbao was clearly an exception to the rule. How many other sides from the La Liga ended up in the quarterfinals of UCL 2005 onwards. Barcelona, sometimes Valencia and Madrid but can't remember anyone else. But the premier league sides (the ex big 4) have always reached that level.Open ControlsThe Utd team beaten by Bilbao was a strong one. I take the point you're trying to make but don't agree I'm afraid.
It's useless looking back to 2005 as a gauge of strength of the respective leagues. Since then the Spanish sides have improved dramatically and some of the top English clubs (particularly Liverpool) no longer compete at that level. Take this season as an example and there was one English team in the QF of the UCL, and Chelsea had a relatively easy run to get there.Open Controls
weak? I think not. I don't know if you saw Bilbao (7th) tear Man Utd (1st) apart twice but I think that shows the league isn't weak.
It's a slightly different philosophy of football which leads to more goals .... I wish the PL was more like that.Open ControlsNo, I think this was an exception to the rule. Look at the performance of the premier league teams during the course of the last 6 years. Almost always 3 out of the 4 teams in the CL end up reaching the quarter final. The premier league teams are clearly better.
Open ControlsPerhaps ... time will tell I suppose. I think English clubs performance in CL was partly due to Man City being seeded 4th in their group - if they'd been in pot 1, I would have thought they'd have gone through to the knockouts.
To say La Liga is weak is an insult to that league though to be honest.Open Controls
+1
Open ControlsThis is a common misundestanding. 920 goals scored in 329 games in PL. 860 goals scored in 313 games in La Liga.
That's 2,80 goals per game in PL and 2,75 goals per game in La Liga.Open Controlswhy let actual facts get in the way of the truth?
for example:
number of teams that have won the EPL since 1992: 5
number of teams that have won La Liga since 1992: 5
number of teams that have won the EPL since 2004: 2
number of teams that have won La Liga since 2004: 2
and yet EPL is the most open league in the world and La Liga is just a glorified SPL. just because Sky tells something, it doesn't mean it's right 😉Open Controls
Only reason la liga is weak is because all the players move to Real and Barca. I don't think the other 18 teams are THAT much worse than the mid and lower table teams in the premier league. but Barca and Real are THAT much (and more) better than Utd, City, Arsenal, Chelsea.
Open Controls*Real and Barca and City....and other clubs
Alves, Torres, Aguero, Villa, Silva, Mata,.......Open Controls
Well he got better obviously. He's still the second best player by a million miles so no reason why he couldn't do that in the premier league.
Also he equalled his own record of 40 goals...but no one seems to care lol.Open ControlsI doubt anyone can do that in the premier league.
Top goal scorer in EPL often has around 20-25 goals over the season, whereas in La Liga people are scoring 40+.
I think EPL definitely has a higher standard, generally, or rather there is a smaller difference between top and bottom team. Wigan beating Utd is a perfect example for me of why the EPL is the best, most competitive league in the world. Literally anything can and does happenOpen Controls
Which of these scores better this week
A. Aguero
B. Yak + Walcott -4
C. Both useless, save your transfer and play 9Open ControlsAnyone know why Rooney was subbed so early last night?

C) Bale -> Walcott & Crouch -> Hoilett (Any striker 5.9 or under)
Any other suggestions?Open ControlsWhile we waste away the moments waiting for the BAPS, how many of us oldies out there used to play the great table football game of SUBBUTEO? I used to love the game, spent hours playing it when I were a lad
Open ControlsLoved it, brilliant.
Open Controlslol I have it in my cardboard, it was my brothers - it confused me though! 🙁
We had the whole Leeds United team as figurines!Open Controlslol cardboard...I've forgotten how to spell cuboard :/
That doesn't look right either!Open Controlscupboard aha. I was bit too young for it, my dad used to have a ton of teams when he was a kid, which his brother took and sold for a fiver
Open ControlsCupboard, right?
I too had Leeds Utd, along with Aston Villa, England and Scotland. This was back in 1977 and I had the World Cup Edition too (much to the envy of my peers!)Open ControlsI actually had an inferior rival game, which had players with heads you could push down and they'd swing a leg at the ball - anyone remember what that was called? The goalie was on a long stick which went through the back of the goal, he was in a permanent diving position.

I sold my subbuteo to an Asian consortium and thy ruined it. Brought in bunch of over paid plastic foreign players who did understand the true meaning of the team. They sold of my little plastic stand, sacked my plastic sheepskin coat wearing manager. Still regret it.
Yes I am bored waiting for bapsOpen Controls
Who wins in GW34?
a) Richards + Caulker + Verm + McClean
b) Turner + Graham + SessegnonOpen ControlsRooney > Tevez.
Yay or Nay?Open ControlsI was wondering if anyone was considering Tevez. It's a brave shot but could be genius if you're chasing.
Open ControlsI am chasing. He's nailed on for 60+ minutes for the run-in imo.
Open Controls
Rooney could be rested against Villa especially after being hauled off by Fergie. Mancini has seen how much Citeh have missed him...but if his goal bonus is replaced by pies who knoes how many he'll score??
Open ControlsWhat KIND of pies? 😛
Open Controls
It's been a season of many lows andd few highs for me this year, two stand out disappointments were...
gw2 -37pts on my bench, my team scored 31pts
gw19 - Verm gets booked by mistake instead of Koscielny and goes off injured after 53 mins in a 1-0 win for zero points. He was my captain. 🙁
Ok, lets have your sob stories, I need a laugh! 🙂Open ControlsI worked out that gameweeks 1-20ish I could have been around 130 points better off i'd benched the correct people.
Open ControlsHow about that...
Open Controlsbeing the only one in my minileague with rooney gwk1 then taking him out with gwk2 wildcard (for torres) and everyone else getting him in
left me 100+ adrift by gwk4Open ControlsThe second wc in wk 2 screwed me, I was really happy with my start but couldn't resist...

Missing the boat on Bale (Went VDV), Ba (Went Bendtner!!), Cisse (Went Crouch!!).. Also, not captaining RVP for his Blackburn haul, that has cost me dear!!
Open Controls
Worth doubling up on Bale and VDV for GW 36? Spurs fixtures look a thing of beauty for the rest of the season
Open ControlsBale in cack form
Open ControlsTheir fixtures might look a thing of beauty but they don't atm. I think one is enough and even then it depends on the FA Cup. If they beat Chelsea and reach the final the second DGW match will be a write off as it comes 3 days before the final.
Even if they don't reach the final they play Sat and Tue which is a similarly short space between ,atches as the Norwich game this week so VDV will rotate with the likes of Saha/Defoe/AdeOpen Controlstheir fixtures may be but the team isnt at the moment!!

FAO jinswick (and any other surman owners)
just started a thread on norwich forum asking if surman will start this weekend after being rested at spurs. first 2 responses say no
im likely to get mclean in now
http://services.pinkun.com/forums/pinkun/cs/forums/2706870/ShowPost.aspxOpen ControlsYeah that makes good sense now, don't do the Aguero transfer though imo.
Open ControlsCheers. Yeah he's definitely going for me as I already have 11 and 2 freebies. Most likely Surman -> Sess this week, rolling the other one forward.
Open Controlsthats what i would love to be able to do (and what i planned) but ended up doing holt to cisse last week instead
Open ControlsYep, it's been in the planning for a while now. Momentarily flirted with Arteta this week, but Sess seems the better option, especially since I have Walcott & RVP and no SUN attack. You never know though, McClean could still easily outscore Sess this week!
Open Controls
Anyone tempted with Chelsea players for the DGW...thinking they may under preform when Barca hammer them in the CL, leaving them with little to play for, for the rest of the season.
Open ControlsIt could also happen that they take vengeance for being hammered... its a 2 way street!
Open Controls- Open Controls
So much uncertainty, Cech is literally the only player I trust to play both games in the double.
