FFS Mini-Leagues & Community Competitions Gameweek 16

Welcome to the Gameweek 16 round-up of the Fantasy Football Scout mini-leagues and community competitions.

Head-to-Head Leagues

In the top-of-the-table clash between Craig Johnson (aka Bouncebackability) and Ignazio La Rosa it was the Italian who emerged victorious by 66 points to 53. Double-figure hauls from Son and Martial helped Ignazio seal the win.

Craig now leads the FFS Head-to-Head leagues by seven points.

Aleksander Våge Nilsen (aka Burky Boy) defeated the early-season pacesetter Owen Walker (aka Zan Scott Talent) 69-64 to hold onto third place in League 1. Owen slips to seventh.

The Magician (aka TorresMagic) was the second highest-scoring manager this week with 73 points, however he had the misfortune to be facing the highest-scoring manager olavi oja (aka ulafhai). Olavi won by two points.

Despite the defeat TorresMagic moved up one place to sixth as he overtook fellow Australian Owen on rank-difference.

Vladimir Stojiljkovic extended his winning streak to 16 matches. He has the maximum 48 points out of 48 in League 8 Division 77. He is the only manager in the Head-to-Head leagues to have won all of their matches.

At 254th overall, David Hurley has the best rank of any participating manager. David now leads Division 60 of League 7 outright after Brian Doyle fell to only his fourth defeat of the season.

Ranked 3,680 overall Youcef Nabil Bounadja could consider himself slightly unlucky to be in eighth place on 24 points in League 8 Division 140. So too Kristoffur Sørensen who despite an impressive rank of 2,551 is tenth in League 6 Division 1.

At the other end of the scale John Erik Torsteinsen is perhaps rather fortunate to have gained 42 points given his rank of 457,693. He leads Division 63 of League 7. 110 FPL points separate John from Kristoffur.

A fixtures table will be published in the Scout’s Guide to Gameweek 17 ahead of the deadline. However, if you would like to find out who you are playing next before then, follow this link. Use your browser’s find in page function (Ctrl+F) to locate managers. All this information and more is contained in the main Head-to-Head page.

Fantasy Football Scout Mini-Leagues

Berkan Chelikhan has regained the lead in our Fantasy Football Scout mini-league and is up to 18th overall. He leads second-placed Theodor Eek-Bakke by 18 points.

Gameweek 15 leader Boris Popovski scored only 46 points and slips from first to eighth. He captained Mane and no doubt regrets making Kevin De Bruyne his vice-captain instead of Jamie Vardy.

There are currently 43,814 people participating in the Fantasy Football Scout mini-league, to join them enter code ooyz44 in your Leagues’ section on the FPL site

Miles Stephens remains at number one in our FFS Members mini-league but has dropped out of the top thousand after his third red arrow in a row.

Gameweek 10 leader Luke Macbeth is up to second, just two points behind Miles.

The code to join the FFS Members League can be found on the Members page

Fantasy Football Scout Cups

In the second round of the FFS Cup Pro Pundits Sam Bonfield (aka Sam FPLFamily) and Az were beaten by Gentleman’s Club and Hellraisers respectively.

The only former champion still in the competition, A Manager Has No Name, is safely through to round three. He is joined by moderators Rotations Alter Ego, RedLightning and G-Whizz.

Former champion Malakait Jihad was defeated in the first round of the FFS Members Cup. But there was better news for rrcmc and Waltzingmatildas as both ex-winners progressed to round two

Other notable names through to the second round include elfozzie, TorresMagic and Rotations Alter Ego. However G-Whizz won’t be joining them. He was eliminated on overall ranking after he drew his match with Albany City 65-65. G-Whizz is ranked 266,312 while Albany City is 106,973.

Community Mini-Leagues and Competitions

In TorresMagic’s Last Man Standing the safety score for Gameweek 16 was 52 points, which saw 198 managers eliminated. The threshold for elimination increases to 9% for Gameweek 17.

3,364 managers have departed the competition so far with 1,607 left to battle it out for the coveted title of Last Man Standing. There will be further opportunities to enter before Gameweek 22, however you must pass all previous safety scores to qualify.

Aside from bragging rights, the winner will receive a free Fantasy Football Scout Membership for the 2020/21 season.

In the Pundit’s Play-Off Community Tournament The Keane Fifteen lost for only the second time this season, beaten 13-2 by Holly’s Hamster. No doubt Boris Bodega will recount the tale of this famous win later in the week.

However The Keane Fifteen maintain their advantage at the top of the overall Head-to-Head league table, 9.5 points ahead of Unbelievable Jeff FC in second.

There’s a real ding-dong battle taking place between Andy Goddard (aka Andy G) and Neale Rigg (aka SkontoRigga) in the FFS Mods & Cons mini-league. The pair are now tied for first on 977 points having made the same number of transfers.

Ian Stanley has taken the lead in RedLightning’s Top 10k Any Season mini-league as Josh Lee tumbles from first to sixteenth with a score of 49 points.

Ian leads second-placed Nicolae Dragomir by seven points.

Managers with a top 10,000 finish may join RedLightning’s Top 10k Any Season mini-league using the code m0tq9y.

Paul Cryan displaced Paul Marshman (aka Back On The Horse) at the top of PDM‘s Top 1k ANY season mini-league. Paul Cryan’s best finish came in 2012/13 when he ended the season ranked 276 overall. After three green arrows in a row he’s currently 1,363rd.

Managers with a top 1,000 finish may join PDM’s Top 1k ANY season mini-league using the code eejnyz.

Svein Roald L Usken moves above Head-to-Head leader Craig Johnson (aka Bouncebackability) in Chaballer’s Top 1,000 HoF League. Former leader Francois Jacquemot is back up to second, five points behind Svein.

Svein is 720th and Francois is 672nd in the Career Hall of Fame. Managers in the top 1,000 of the Career HoF may enter the league using the code beeps2.

In the exclusive FPL Champions League Ben Crabtree’s lead is being whittled away, Pro Pundit Simon March is now just ten points behind.

2016/17 FPL winner Ben chose the wrong week to swap Spurs and Man United players as Rashford and Alli replaced Kane and Martial. The departed duo gained 26 points to Rashford and Alli’s 18.

Although Ben fared better swapping Guaita for Pope between the sticks. Six points gained after taking into account the four-point hit.

Keeping tabs on the Pro Pundits, Sam Bonfield (aka Sam FPLFamily) remains the highest-ranked manager of this select group. She increased her lead over the next highest, Tom Freeman (aka avfc82) to 30 points.

The top-scoring Pro Pundit Gameweek 16 was Ash (aka FPL Hints) with 77 points.

The subject of a Guardian interview this week, World chess champion Magnus Carlsen has moved up another five places to fourth overall. Once again a Liverpool no-show did him no great harm, as Kelly was promoted from his bench to replace Mane.

TopMarx Fan of Fantasy Football and Monty Python. "Archimedes out to Socrates, Socrates back to Archimedes, Archimedes out to Heraclitus, he beats Hegel. Heraclitus a little flick, here he comes on the far post, Socrates is there, Socrates heads it in! Socrates has scored! The Greeks are going mad, the Greeks are going mad! Socrates scores, got a beautiful cross from Archimedes. The Germans are disputing it. Hegel is arguing that the reality is merely an a priori adjunct of non-naturalistic ethics, Kant via the categorical imperative is holding that ontologically it exists only in the imagination, and Marx is claiming it was offside.
