FFS Cup

The latest FFS Cup fixtures and results

The draws for the sixth round of the FFS Members Cup and the seventh round of the FFS Cup have taken place following the completion of Gameweek 21.

We’re down to the final 16 Fantasy managers in both tournaments after the New Year’s Day round of fixtures.

FFS CUP

The results from the sixth round of the open-to-all 2019/20 FFS Cup are available by clicking here.

The seventh round draw in full can be accessed here.

Our highest-ranked manager in round six (more of whom below) made it through to the round of 16.

Teddy Brewski, still chasing a cup double, beat robharr to progress to the next stage.

He will play TOMYG84 in round seven.

Our only all-top 10k clash in Gameweek 22 sees Mataatti take on Leggend2: this is the former’s third successive meeting with a manager inside the top 10,000 at the point of the tie.

Our only two remaining site users who lie outside the top 100k and who remain in the FFS Cup, stamfordbridge and A Team Has No Name, meet each other in the last 16.

FFS MEMBERS CUP

The scores from the fifth round of the 2019/20 FFS Members Cup are available by clicking here.

The sixth round draw in full can be accessed here.

An impressive four of our remaining 16 managers – including the aforementioned Teddy Brewski – are currently inside the top 1k.

Our highest-ranked entrant left in either competition remains at 14th in the world after Gameweek 21.

frankiem, who first entered the top 1k four months ago, defeated Emm7980 and will meet prbaker1980 in the sixth round.

ActorJeff and BeckerCallSaul, who have overall ranks of 388th and 586th respectively, also progressed.

The aforementioned TeddyBrewski saw off moderator TorresMagic in the first Gameweek of 2020 and will next play robharr – who he coincidentally defeated in round six of the FFS Cup.

Evening all. Apologies this post is quite long but need some advice!

I think I’ve narrowed down my planned moves between now and GW24 to these:

    Alli > Cantwell
    Martial > Salah
    Guaita > Ryan
    Willems > Stephens

These precise moves will currently leave me with 0itb but I can always go for a different GK or cheaper def.

Question is which to do this GW?

I’m thinking maybe just Alli > Cantwell as he looked poor again in the Cup and I’m not sure Son being back and Kane out helps him. This also relieves my benching headache for this GW.

What do you think? Just this move or any others? Think Martial should prob stay for NOR.

    Current team:

    1FT 0.4itb
    Guaita*, McGovern
    TAA, Soy, Lunds, Rico, Willems*
    Mané, KDB, Maddison, Martial*, Alli*
    Vardy, Ings, DCL

Thanks and sorry for long post!

Tough choice. Leicester and Liverpool both decent defensively. DCL has the best fixture. Ings has the form. Personally I'd be tempted to bench Alli but would feel a bit wrong benching a player that expensive.

Spot on my thought process haha!

Which is exactly why I thought just ditch Alli now to Cantwell. Can’t imagine Alli hauling vs us.

You’re right and he’s currently benched in my bus team.

Tbh it may just come down to price changes as to whether I do Alli out or hold

          • 11 Years

There's no headache: if you dislike Alli so much, why not just bench him? The difference is that GK is in your starting XI, while Alli/Cantwell is supposed to stay on the bench, so the GK upgrade is the one getting you short term points if your bench does not come into play. And if your bench DOES come into play, you think Cantwell is much better than Alli?

            • 6 Years

Nice logic actually. That’s good advice. Alli is currently my first bench anyway in my “bus” team.

Only thing that could force my hand is price changes as to make all these moves exactly I have no cash left.

IMO, the GK problem currently is choosing between Foster vs Ryan (vs Fabianski). Personally, I have gone with Foster as a differential pick. 3 CS in the last 6 and BOU are looking awful.

Yeh I actually considered Foster also. Agree they seem to be getting stronger.

Just not sure how much I trust Watford! Ryan at least has more recent FPL pedigree

                  Ryan 4.8M 5CS 75saves 11BP 445BPS
                  Foster 4.8M 6CS 69saves 13BP 393BPS
                  --------
                  Dubravka 5.0M 5CS 86saves 5BP 405BPS
                  Leno 5.0M 4CS 82saves 5BP 417BPS
                  --------
                  Schmeichel 5.4M 8CS 54saves 2BP 392BPS
                  Pope 4.7M 7CS 58saves 7BP 399BPS
                  Guaita 5.1M 6CS 56saves 10BP 356BPS
                  ---------
                  Ramsdale 4.7M 4CS 69saves 10BP 391BPS

Ryan & Foster have a nice combo of BPS, BP, saves, CS and fixtures.

Dubravka and Leno get huge save counts with big BPS. If Arsenal gets their stuff together for CS, Leno could become a top FPL GK.

Schmeichel, Pope, Guaita, get few saves so they rely on CS and fixtures.

Ramsdale does not get enough CS or saves.

Ofc, there's also Fabianski with DGW24, McCarthy with 4.3 price tag and Henderson for a Sheffield defensive double up option with Lundstram.

Np. I did some of this for my WC where I chose Guaita + Button (9.0 M total) -> Foster + McCarthy (9.1M total). Then I played Foster and benched McCarthy. Watford conceded 1 vs Wolves while McCarthy hauled vs Spurs. Should have seen that coming I guess. 😀

You can say that to Daniel Farke. Norwich played with 2nd/3rd choice defense line for the first...15GWs? And now that their defenders and DMFs are finally fit, they have 3 injured forwards so Pukki was playing several matches with a smashed toe since they had no one else available and now they had to start 4th choice forward 18y/o Idah in FA cup...who promptly scored a hat-trick.

I'm keeping Guaita. Only really 1-2 bad fixtures in the next 9 and it would save a -4 from those transfers.
Do Alli > Cantwell this week.

Yeh it’s an option but I just feel his time has passed in terms of heroics and CRY looking a lot less solid defensively. Def the least priority of the moves though.

Trouble is if I don’t do it then I’d have to go for Dendo over Cantwell which maybe isn’t terrible.

I’m not sold on Fab tbh. He is an FPL legend and loves a save point but the team in front of him is dire.

Ryan is decent, has nicer fixtures and a more solid defence.

Still not certain. Also considering McCarthy for the extra funds

    Hendo
    TAA, Pereira, Sidibe
    Salah, Maddison, KDB, Martial
    Vardy (c), Ings, Tammy

Playing Ings vs Pereira is a safe bet since you can't really win with both. If you are chasing, you could take a risk by choosing your side and benching either Ings for Traore or Pereira for Lundstram. High risk, high reward.

    Best Aurier replacement?

    Ryan - Button
TAA - Evans - Aurier -Lundstram - Kelly
    Mane - KDB - Martial - Maddison - Cantwell
    Vardy - Rashford - Ings

    2 FT, 2.2 itb

Considering Sidibe or Holgate but put off by their performance today.

Why on earth would anybody do a GK transfer? I just don't get it, it hasn't even crossed my mind.

There are 9 points seperating the top 10 FPL GKs.

oh yeah, i know that's the reason and I own Pope too.
I just don't beleive using a transfer on a GK outside of WC is a good move. Too little upside and transfers are the most precious weapon we have.

Because a non GK transfer has a far better chance of getting you more points. People just don't look hard enough. Just my opinion (looks like I'm in a minority of one lol)

...it's tough. Utd are so hard to call but if they turn up then they could get 2 or 3 Vs Norwich and you'd fancy Rashford to be involved. Can't see Ings getting anything more than maybe 1x goal Vs Leicester and even that seems a long shot (despite his excellent form). So really depends if you think Salah is going to rip spurs up
