Micah Richards’ hamstring problem is City’s only injury worry ahead of the visit of United. Rafael could be in line for the chop for the Etihad clash, Stephen Kelly hopes to return this weekend for Fulham, while Emmanuel Adebayor’s Spurs future is up in the air after reports of a bust-up with ‘Arry.

Roberto Mancini has revealed Micah Richards’ hamstring problem will be assessed prior to Monday’s Etihad clash with United. The right-back missed out on Sunday’s trip to Wolves with the injury and has played 90 minutes in just one of City’s last five Gameweeks, with Pablo Zabaleta establishing himself in Mancini’s back-four. The City boss also went on to say he’s a little concerned over Yaya Toure’s recent form, with the midfielder far from his best in the Molineux match last weekend:

If Yaya Toure is on form, he is a top player. But we need him to be 100 per cent and on Sunday he was so-so. We also need to check on Micah Richards to see how his hamstring is. Providing he has recovered, with Mario Balotelli back from suspension, we will have everyone.

Reports of a fallout between Harry Redknapp and Emmanuel Adebayor have Fantasy managers on red alert this week. The on-loan forward missed Saturday’s trip to QPR with an alleged hamstring problem and has been earmarked by many for a transfer-in ahead of the upcoming double Gameweek. With 13 goals and 12 assists to his name thus far, Adebayor has played a part in more goals than any other Spurs player but the media is awash with rumours that the pair have had a training ground bust up, with the Togo international unhappy over Redknapp’s criticism of his performances. Any possible absence leaves Tottenham with a striker shortage at present; Louis Saha is also a doubt due to a groin injury, leaving Jermain Defoe as the possible forward of choice ahead of Spurs’ home game with Blackburn and trip to Bolton next week.

Reports this morning suggest Rafael could be set for the chop after United conceded four to Everton at the weekend. The Mirror reckons the young Brazilian was singled out by Sir Alex Ferguson after United’s inability to see out a two-goal lead with seven minutes left allowed the Toffees to salvage a draw. While the league leaders have looked defensively solid in recent weeks – with six clean sheets in the previous seven – Ferguson is now expected to install either Phil Jones or Chris Smalling into the back-four ahead of Monday’s trip to the Etihad, as United look to preserve their three-point lead over City.

Stephen Kelly hopes to return to the Fulham fold this week after missing out in last Saturday’s win over Wigan. The right-back had played every minute of all but one of the Cottagers’ previous sixteen fixtures and, priced at 4.0, afforded a cut-price route into Martin Jol’s defence, but admitted yesterday he was forced to skip the Latics clash after breaking his wrist in the Gameweek 34 draw with Chelsea:

Hopefully it won’t be too long before I’m back playing. I sustained a slight break to my wrist but it’s something that I can hopefully get over and play with a cast on it. I got through the match against Chelsea and finished the game after it happened in the first half so that’s a good sign and fingers crossed I’ll be back soon. I’ll be looking to get back into training this week and get the confidence built up again. It’s a matter of getting back into training and hopefully it will feel good and I’ll be available at the weekend for the game against Everton.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed he expects Steven Caulker to be fully fit this weekend as Swansea take on relegated Wolves at the Liberty Stadium. The on-loan centre-half played the entire 90 minutes at the Reebok on Saturday, despite the fact he was suffering from the flu. Rodgers was full of praise for the defender’s display, going on to say:

How he got through the Bolton game I don’t know, because he had been up all night. He had flu, so for him to be out on the field was incredible. He is going to be a top player and performances like that show why.

          Rooney v's RVP = Form v's Fixtures

Form has pretty much won this battle the whole way through this season, imo.

Yeah I am basing it on form alone.....bottom line it depends on what you are doing afterwards. I got rid of RVP last week for a cheeky Tevez punt cause I believed Rooney would outscore him. I fully intend on bringing RVP in for the Nor game.

Maybe in your case if you really want RVP get rid of Rooney....but either of them could score big next gw!

        VdV (c), Bale, Dempsey, Siggy,

        Jelavic (vc), RvP, Cisse

        De Gea, McClean, Verm, Evans

Essentialyl I have just 2 dilemmas. One is do I act early on transfers and risk any unexpected injuries. The other is whether to play McClean at home to Bolton over RvP away at Stoke

Best defender for 5.7 or under?
Huth? Decent goal threat, poor defensive form
Kaboul? Might not be fit, decent goal threat also, average defensive form
Enrique? Could be rotated, poor defensive form - not a huge threat
Jagielka? Could be rotated? Some goal threat, good defensive form

I would go Jags, with Baines out I don't see him being rotated, Distin will play left-back. IMO Jags and Distin is Moyes' first choice pairing if everyone is fit. Jags has started all of the last 5 games.

I don't see this as being a problem

He is clearly Everton's first choice, and having had a spell out through injury, is unlikely to need a rest. Plus there is nothing to rest him for. Moyes has a settled team now IMO

          Howard

          Hibbert, Jagileka, Heitinga, Distin

          Osman, Gibson, Neville, Pienaar

Alot of people considering hits this GW with many of those being 8 & 12 pointers or even more. Many others scowel at the prospect, but here's my view.

Taking a hit(s) in this week IMO could prove very efficient.

This all depends who you are bringing in and who you are loosing but think of it this way comparing a single GW player and taking a hit to replace the same player. I will use Sess to Pineaar as an example as many people seem to be contemplating possibly swapping them.

Sess' points are as follows: 2 (appearance) + 4 (no hit taken) = 6 base points + your thought on his scoring potentail.

Pineaar's player points are as follows: 4 base points (appearance) + your thought on his scoring potentail over TWO games.

So as it stands Sess is leading by 2 points (not really a material IMO).

Sess is a good example as even though his form isn't currently the best, he still has good potential to score in the single fixture. But IMO Pineaar has almost double the potential in his two games. Both games aren't as easy as (WOL) but their not too far off and considering his form.

The final factor to think is the final two GW's. Pineaar takes his good form into two very appealing games and could profit in both. Sess on the other hand has two hard fixtures and will be looking to be replaced (therefore usuing up a free tfr in GW37 or 38) or wasted on the bench.

So my conclusion is that even several hits for a DGW players (factoring in the above) in most cases should be beneficial to a) increase points potential & b) set up your team well for GW37&38.

For this reason on this occassion I think multiple hits in a GW could very easily pay off. My team needs an 8pt hit but I would be more than happy to take extra hits on top of that, ie for a Chelsea player if they get knocked out today, as it could be very profitable over the three GW's.

Sorry for the long post which may just ramble on about nothing of interest, but I just feel it might help alot of people who seem so against taking any form of hits to set them up well not just for this GW but for 37 & 38.

What? If I understand your statement you mean that there a only a few players that are not at risk to rotation?

If so I disagree. Many Spurs/Everton/Newcastle players will not be prone to rotation IMO.

Sorry to be unclear, but you understood me correctly. You also state the correct players who are safe of rotation, probably also Stoke and FUlham players. But if you honestly look at Newcastle who everyone is banking on, especially Cisse, their fixtures are pretty bad. The hits may not be worth it. Personally I dont see why I should get rid of guys like Turner, Caulker, Siggy and some others for a hit.

While I agree on Newcastle's fixtures, their current form and need for results could override their fixtures. Even so Cisse is the only player id rely on to prove this. Newcastle players are what I referred to by saying "considering GW36 fixtures along with 37 & 38" as they may not be the best to pick. Everton/Spurs & Chelsea players (if knocked out by Barca) are the main ones to condier for me.

Fulham's fixtures aren't great and Stoke's fixtures/form are bad (QPR away is a tough game)

re: Turner/Caulker/Siggy they could do well, but over 3 GW's with having poor fixtures for GW37&38 you would think that thier replacement would profit alot over their 4 games against the above's 3 games including two tough games.

A good appraisl, but I think it also depends on whether folk are leading or chasing. I am leading in my ML's so am reluctant to eat up my lead points with hits, wheres the chasing pack will no doubt be more prepared to take points hits to make up gains.

I agree to an extent. The theory is a base that should be tailored to different league positions/players to be removed or bought.

BUT like I say your only loosing 2 base points but surely anyone you are considering getting in should make much more than that over 3 GW's with their points potential over 4 games?

😉 There is no right or wrong decision as it's about what your instinks tell you is the best play and what you are happy with. I am just trying to show situations where this should be considered in more depth rather than discarding the idea of hits like is common in most GW's.

Hmmmmmm there is no correct answer for that IMO. I personally don't think he will do much due to lack of form regardless of his fixture. I also think that even if he has a decent haul a player id be considering to replace him would easily achive what he should potentially get and lastly I would not be over convinced in playing him in the final two GW's so for me he is an easy sell even for a hit. I do however see the flip side to this for those who think he's worth keeping, this is just my view on him.

Im keeping RvP and Rooney IT

          Trying to decide whether it's
          Holt -> Cisse or Jelly.

If Cisse, then i'd prob get Pienaar for Wally and d'grade Komps to BaE for a hit.

          Thoughts?

My thoughts are that your suggest moves look excellent.

Probably doing the Komps > BAE move myself and it's a case of HBA and Jelly or Pienaar and Cisse for you. I think I prefer HBA and Jelly.

That is indeed the dilemma i have. HBA + Jelly vs. Pienaar + Cisse.

I hate these bounce to and bounce back moves. No one ever sticks to them and they rarely turn out for the best.

I just don't know if I can stomach the sight of a formation which has Cisse as a lone striker for the DGW...

        Roon's form is certainly outstanding.

Fancy City to bag a couple on Monday though so might keep Aguero.

Seems daft to fill a WC spot with such a close looking rubber though.

I wouldn't be considering Adebayor at all, even if this rumour of a bust up ever came up. I think Cisse and Jelavic are far better options and I believe that the 3rd striker spot should be still kept for Rooney/RVP.

With the issues surrounding Ade, I would go for one of the 'big four' as your third striker (Aguero, Tevez, Rooney, RVP). It will also be better for you in the final two GW's.

    Howard

Huth - Terry - Assou Ekotto

    Team for this week is:

    Vorm
    Caulker Verm BAE
    DEMPS BARFA Siggy BALE
    Roonpig CISSE(c) JELLY(vc)

    Sorenson Tony V Turner Evans

Have already done RVP > Jelly.

Is it worth -4 point hit to bring in another DGW defender?

    Could do:

    1, Turner > Huth
    2, Turner > Jags/Hibbert

Yeah RVP + Rooney are golden for GW37. I don't think you need to be taking a hit to get Jelavic in. Rooney will score at the Etihad. Maybe even a brace with pens on the agenda. City are far from formidable at the back. Zabaleta is pretty bad and Clichy is better going forward. They are too reliant on Kompany.

I'm hoping for 1 clean sheet and expecting 0 tbh... but it's surely still logical to play the 2 Newcastle boys. Even with 0 clean sheets they are highly likely to get at least 4 points each and there is the potential for a lot more.

I considered playing Vorm and Simpson myself but Newcastle have proved very reliable recently (at home mainly granted) so i think the double up is the right move

wigan have scored in almost all their recent games, whereas wolves/bolton havent

also chelsea away is a tough place to keep a cleanie

obviously go with your gut feeling but i dont see much for newcastles defence

Who are the 8 people that transferred out Darren Bent today? This confuses me.

If he would have been fit, he would have been overwhelming captain for Gwk 35.

im considering not taking any hits this week. if i replace walcott with someone i will have to play them and then bench either rvp and valencia, plus taking the hit. That could go horribly wrong..

Yeah i know what you mean. I'll likely be benching McClean this week after a 4 point hit which doesn't sit right with me really

Really looking forward to Barca V Chelsea game tonight and although I'm not a Chelsea supporter, I hope they do well because they're all we have left in the comp. Also we might get some idea about Chelsea player's selection for the dgw !!

Why are WC people getting in Sig? He is a SGW and then has mun LIV - you won't want to play him in 37&38 - the WC is not just about Gwk 36!!

This is a good point. A lot of people playing the WC are only looking at the DGW. Beyond that they will be left with a mess of a team. I'm hoping to make gains in GW37 and 38 as a result.

      I've considered GW 37 & 38.

I'm benching RvP against Stoke and playing Sigurdsson, can use my transfer anywhere GW37 and then swap Sigurdsson for Moses for GW38.

      Easy.

77pt lead in ML. Think I might take -8pt to hammer home with a few doublers...

Haven't settled on the doublers but would prefer to do it without Spurs as haven't had any all season and lots of lilywhites in my league.

    Bogdan
    Verm Cahill ACole
    Dempsey Pienaar Siggy Miyaichi
    Cisse(c) Jelavic RVP

    Foster Nasri Caulker Evans

Too many eggs in an Everton basket?

Also quite tempted with Miyaichi > Cabaye/Maxi/Mata -4pt

    Too jazzy?

Cahill probably won't get two games.

      Maybe consider HBA over Ryo.
