Micah Richards’ hamstring problem is City’s only injury worry ahead of the visit of United. Rafael could be in line for the chop for the Etihad clash, Stephen Kelly hopes to return this weekend for Fulham, while Emmanuel Adebayor’s Spurs future is up in the air after reports of a bust-up with ‘Arry.

Roberto Mancini has revealed Micah Richards’ hamstring problem will be assessed prior to Monday’s Etihad clash with United. The right-back missed out on Sunday’s trip to Wolves with the injury and has played 90 minutes in just one of City’s last five Gameweeks, with Pablo Zabaleta establishing himself in Mancini’s back-four. The City boss also went on to say he’s a little concerned over Yaya Toure’s recent form, with the midfielder far from his best in the Molineux match last weekend:

If Yaya Toure is on form, he is a top player. But we need him to be 100 per cent and on Sunday he was so-so. We also need to check on Micah Richards to see how his hamstring is. Providing he has recovered, with Mario Balotelli back from suspension, we will have everyone.

Reports of a fallout between Harry Redknapp and Emmanuel Adebayor have Fantasy managers on red alert this week. The on-loan forward missed Saturday’s trip to QPR with an alleged hamstring problem and has been earmarked by many for a transfer-in ahead of the upcoming double Gameweek. With 13 goals and 12 assists to his name thus far, Adebayor has played a part in more goals than any other Spurs player but the media is awash with rumours that the pair have had a training ground bust up, with the Togo international unhappy over Redknapp’s criticism of his performances. Any possible absence leaves Tottenham with a striker shortage at present; Louis Saha is also a doubt due to a groin injury, leaving Jermain Defoe as the possible forward of choice ahead of Spurs’ home game with Blackburn and trip to Bolton next week.

Reports this morning suggest Rafael could be set for the chop after United conceded four to Everton at the weekend. The Mirror reckons the young Brazilian was singled out by Sir Alex Ferguson after United’s inability to see out a two-goal lead with seven minutes left allowed the Toffees to salvage a draw. While the league leaders have looked defensively solid in recent weeks – with six clean sheets in the previous seven – Ferguson is now expected to install either Phil Jones or Chris Smalling into the back-four ahead of Monday’s trip to the Etihad, as United look to preserve their three-point lead over City.

Stephen Kelly hopes to return to the Fulham fold this week after missing out in last Saturday’s win over Wigan. The right-back had played every minute of all but one of the Cottagers’ previous sixteen fixtures and, priced at 4.0, afforded a cut-price route into Martin Jol’s defence, but admitted yesterday he was forced to skip the Latics clash after breaking his wrist in the Gameweek 34 draw with Chelsea:

Hopefully it won’t be too long before I’m back playing. I sustained a slight break to my wrist but it’s something that I can hopefully get over and play with a cast on it. I got through the match against Chelsea and finished the game after it happened in the first half so that’s a good sign and fingers crossed I’ll be back soon. I’ll be looking to get back into training this week and get the confidence built up again. It’s a matter of getting back into training and hopefully it will feel good and I’ll be available at the weekend for the game against Everton.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed he expects Steven Caulker to be fully fit this weekend as Swansea take on relegated Wolves at the Liberty Stadium. The on-loan centre-half played the entire 90 minutes at the Reebok on Saturday, despite the fact he was suffering from the flu. Rodgers was full of praise for the defender’s display, going on to say:

How he got through the Bolton game I don’t know, because he had been up all night. He had flu, so for him to be out on the field was incredible. He is going to be a top player and performances like that show why.

I am actually disappointed to only be 35 in front in my ML, but for own mistakes I could have it sewn up by now. Main rival spend most of the year copying me and one other guy. When he got ahead in Jan he tried to stay there by copying my team, until I wildcarded and totally re-jigged it to get McClean and Siggy in.

Just this morning I was chatting to someone about Cabaye and he chimed up, who is that?

I'm a friggin moron sometimes, but I'm sure it will be over after this week, he has double City defence, 2 DGWers and 1 FT.

if you click my link and go into the Team Man Fort league (which is my work/cash) ML, you can view his team.

He only has Ben Arfa as he overheard others talking about him.

I am well happy with this :

    Krul (Vorm)
    Caulker BAE Simpson (Turner) (Evans)
    Bale Sigurdsson Dempsey Pienaar (Valencia)
    Rooney Cisse Jelavic

I also have 10.2 in the bank!

Now all I need to do is Captain someone 😉

I would have that same insurance in the bank if I wasn't carrying Sagna and brought in VDV instead of Pienaar....which is my question, what think you of VDV over Pienaar?

Well I already have Bale you see, so I didn't want to load up on a team that is well out of form. Saying that VDV did look lively against QPR. So if I was getting in a spurs mid and didn't have Bale then I would do it. Otherwise I would deflect to Pienaar. Basically spreading my bets 😉

But that is just my view on the situation.

I have been thinking that for a couple of weeks but it just hasn't happened. Plus with dressing room unrest and the pressure of seeing their CL hopes fizzle out I can see it going either way.

You could be right my man and if you feel it go with it. I on the other hand don't feel it hence my move for pienaar!

I'm a bit late picking up on Tosey's post above, but some interesting points made regarding defenders for the DGW which is an area of some concern for me. My two defensive DGW'ers were Baines and Kelly, both of which look unlikely to play leaving me with Verm, JEvans and Caulker. Happy to go with Verm and Caulker but its not a gw to play JEvans. So, for me selling Kelly for a hit might not be such a bad option! Thoughts?

i was thinking about this last night actually -

      my team would be:
caulker/evans (fullbacks: smalling, jones, walker,n.taylor - whoever misses the cut for the euros)
      bellamy/giggs/cleverly/a johnson/bale
      sturridge/rhodes/lambert/chamberlain

however, i fear the side will probably be the england u21s with just a few players thrown in from the other countries such as bale and ramsey

on a side note, any chance of a fantasy olympic football game starting up? would help to pass the time before the start of the new season

      well you know my thoughts

Miyachi is a rotation risk, as is Mata. Rosicky is not worth it IMO.

Pienaar is likely to get more minutes than VdV, but VdV is more explosive, and if Ade is out is on pens. He is the best bet IMO

Yeah, brought in VDV with you...I'm with Christina on defenders, am not thinking of playing Jag...would have to keep multiple clean sheets for my -8 hit to be worth it. I could bring in Pienaar for Valencia, but I have a feeling Tony V is going to do very very well until the end.

The only reason I'm considering it is more a GW37 reason. Am happy to play Evans and Verm, but given Kolarov is a guaranteed non starter, I am forced to play either Santon (MCI) or Caulker (mnu), and don't fancy either, so Jags (wol) can occupy thayt 3rd slot. Remember that Jags is only costing 4 points, not 8. If you are swapping for a playing defender, it is not worth it for sure.

In my case I think it probably is.

Thinking about Chelsea as fixtures and team form are good enough. Just can't find a player to play both games. I shall wait until CL is decided, if Chelsea go out their only chance for CL next year is fourth spot so they would have to play their strongest team for league games imo.

I would guess he'll play Barca tonight, get rested on the weekend, play Newcastle midweek and play the cup final.

Lose RVP or Tevez for Jelly this week?
I know neither could be essential as a one week punt, but I need to do this to enable me to atone for my Rooney transfer out error last week.
Above transfer would allow me funds to get Rooney back in next week (SWA) for Cisse (mci).
Leaning towards Tevez myself due to fixtures until 38 (and potential Mancini rotation in 37/8), but can't seem to decide.

Truely bizarre to think I have taken a 4pt hit to remove Roo and RVP .Unthinkable.

Now trying to work out whether to play Sess or take another hit to swap the benched Walcott for VDV?

Thinking Sess is due a goal at max. Maybe a bonus or two... 4(hit saved)+2+5+2baps = 13

    VDV... -4 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 3 + 3baps = 11

    Any thoughts?

I'm tempted to ditch Sess for VDv for a hit as well. sunderland have simple stopped working...its like they are on their holidays already, plus none of my mini league rivals have him so he's very ditchable for me.

    Chaps,

Team is linked, which option you reckon I should take from the following:

    A) Graham > Jelly

    B) Graham> Cisse
    Sess > Pienaar (-4 hit)

Obviously Graham's got to go. I like both Jelly(a lot) & Cisse (a little bit more) but I don't fancy Sess to do much for the final 3 weeks - SUN away form is terrible of late, Sess isn't playing up top and they've got United to come - so wondering if it's worth the -4 hit to lose him & bring in Pienaar for Everton attacking coverage? I'm chasing about 50+ points (unlikely I know) and my rival has got (and will probably (c)) Cisse.

    Help! Ha =)

Need to differentiate a few of these players with DGWers this week. 60 point lead to catch so it's punt time. Which should be priority?

    Evans
    Verm
    Caulker

    RVP

RVP is the main one you need to get rid of if you're looking for differentials because it opens up every single door available. In fact I'd say concentrate on attackers and mids as they are the ones where you can get the most points.

I wouldn't get rid of Verm regardless. The only other person you could positively differentiate him with is injured (Baines).
