Update on FFScout Memberships

In light of the Premier League’s recent announcement, Fantasy Football Scout would like to clarify the situation for our existing members.

The Premier League is now suspended until April 4, which means all Gameweek 30 and 31 fixtures have been postponed.

That, in turn, means there are no more matches of Fantasy relevance in the month of March.

While our Members’ tools remain open to use, and strategy-based articles will continue to be posted behind the paywall, we appreciate that, even as we all look forward to the return of the league, there is no immediate Gameweek to prepare for.

We would encourage you not to cancel your Scout membership as, once you do, you will immediately lose the benefits of access to the Members Area, data, tools and any articles we produce behind the paywall.

Instead, if you signed up for a rolling monthly subscription that has missed (or will in the future miss) a Gameweek due to the Premier League suspension, we are happy to offer a cancellation and partial refund for the relevant period. If so, get in touch withΒ support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Naturally, should further postponements occur in the Premier League, beyond April 4, then this policy will continue for that period, so you won’t be paying for Gameweeks that you miss.

With all due respect, you'd have to be completely bonkers to think Liverpool won't be awarded the title, if it came to that.

    Stop embarrassing yourselves, really.

I have feeling Klopp wouldn't accept it. The man has his pride and would want to do it officially.

Think he'd accept it, because he has to. However, I do agree that the man wouldn't want to as he obviously has integrity. I believe he wants to win one on his own merit, not by default. If they gave it to LFC, it wouldn't be the same as winning it right out. I would think it would be a hollow victory for anyone.

And that's will be the biggest tragedy as they clearly deserve to win it. Would there even be an open-top bus celebration?

Not if it’s classed as a mass gathering.

I absolutely agree they deserve to win it. But if it’s not been mathematically won, and just awarded on assumption, that’s a huge anti climax for Liverpool supporters. And a shame that after they way they’ve played this season, this is how they’ll be remembered in history.

Was talking in general about the celebration, nothing Corona related. It would be a devastating finish to anybody's competition. you dominate for the entire race only to have it cancelled 2 metres from the end. if it happens, it will be tragic.klopps comments today have added a lot of perspective to it. Wait a sec. In the 2005 CL Final, Liverpool were 0-3 down at half time. Just say something had happened and the game had to be completely abandoned - would it have been right to award the European Cup to Milan? And how would that look in hindsight, knowing that Liverpool mounted a completely improbable comeback in the 2nd half and eventually won on penalties?

You just can't award the PL title until the season is over and if the games can't all be played then it's null and void. Anything else would be utterly unfair to City. Stranger things have happened and as it happens, Liverpool have been in terrible form anyway, losing 4 of their last 6 games.

If Liverpool get given the title it will be meaningless. They haven't won it yet, as Klopp himself has been saying for weeks.

comparing an entire season to one game makes no sense. Anything can happen in a one off game which why cups have improbable winners and great moments like that.

A season is a very different thing, Liverpool haven't won it yet they still need 6 more points, in a extremely unlikely sceanario that they lose 8 out 9 remaining games after winning 27 out of 29 sure city could win the title but its not scoring 3 in 45 mins, comparing the two makes no sense at all.

The point is that improbable isn't the same as impossible.

If you want a PL example, Arsenal were running away with it in 2008, only to go on a run where they won once in 8 games, collapsing to 3rd. It isn't likely that Liverpool would collapse like that but neither is it impossible.

The PL isn't won on the balance of probabilities. It is won by scoring more points than everyone else over 38 games. Simple as that.

                  And in football... Man. Utd. 1971-2. First 20 games: W14, D4, L2 (= 2.3 ppg in modern terms). Next 11 games: W0, D4, L7 (= 0.36 ppg). It does happen.

            I don't think so
they are 25 clear at the top and its just a formality before they win it
            no one would catch them
its Europe and relegation that would have an asterisk next to the teams that qualify and go down

Liverpool winning is the only clear thing at the moment

There's no doubt that only an idiot would say LFC won't win the league this year. It is a formality, however, nobody now can guarantee they will win it. If they could, they'd have the trophy already

No point arguing with people here

The ones in charge of the premier League have shown incompetency levels recently and in the past

It's what is right financially for them and the shareholders. It has nothing to do with deserving something.

The season could well just be cancelled and voided if that's what they feel is in their best interest

If Liverpool are handed the title, there will always be this doubt over the win and whether it can be seen as a proper league win which is a shame in some respects but that's reality.

What does interest me is how will man city react next year if it is voided. They now know LFC will fight tooth and nail for every point, for every second, of every game and know that they have to do the same to match or beat them. I think a huge inspiration and motivation for LFC's performance this year was the fact that they lost last year by one point, therefore, after coming so close, they knew the only way to win was to fight for everything. Plus city have no European adventures so they can focus fully on regaining the league for a third year in a row, if it's voided

UEFA will decide whether to postpone Euro 2020 till next 2021, and what to do about the Champions League and Europa League this and next season.
They may also recommend extending contract end-dates for players in leagues that might not have completed the current season by the current contract end-dates, and this would affect the dates of the summer transfer window too, but I would expect them to leave other details to the national leagues themselves.

          Agreed.

I expect the CL, and Europe leagues to be cancelled this year, as there’s no obvious winner, and obviously the travel issues.
Plus it allows more time in the domestic calendars to try and get the leagues finished.

          Euro will be postponed too.

Personally I think we’ll be looking at all European football suspended until next Autumn, and an attempt to finish the domestic leagues between May - July.

It's a complicated process I developed this year which compares different sizes for a sample of managers around you so that the website doesn't have to know all the teams in the world to be exact.

Anybody else feel depressed? A weekend with no football is bad enough but the prospect of a complete postponement of the season is quite unbearable. International breaks are bad enough but this could be several months with no FPL. I would be lying if I said this isn't impacting on my mood.

Sorry to hear you're down. I actually feel the opposite. These times help to adjust one's view of an unimportant little game. As a person who wants to do my bit for the planet, I'm glad to see less burning of fossil fuels.

The guy on Football Focus said it best, "We use football as a great distraction from all the doom and gloom in the World."

Its not life and death, but can be an important anchor in our lives

It may not be 'important' in the grand scheme of things but it's a hobby/interest that we are now being deprived of. And as somebody else has also pointed out, for the many people who hate their jobs and have other issues in their lives, the weekend football and FPL can lift the spirits.

not at all, over the last couple of years I have distanced myself away from this game more and more as I felt it was having a detrimental impact on my mindset.

It's help massively and allowed me to concentrate on things which are actually important.

Yes it might be a hobby but it can be an unhealthy hobby much of the time especially if things go badly. This is the ideal opportunity for you to take a step away from this site and FPL and explore other hobbies/interests. It's for the best

As it's pretty unlikely that the PL will start back up in GW32, the league must be working out when the latest possible restart can be to complete all the fixtures. Assuming the Euro's are off there might be an option to extend the season a few weeks, although I'm guessing extending this shutdown a further couple of weeks might be close to the cut off. It might be the case that games might restart behind closed doors at first if it looks like we're over the infection peak.

In terms of FPL continuing the GW's in terms of transfers, those of us who've already used the WC have now got a slow motion mini version to play with, just in case the league does restart.

Just remember when each weeks deadline is πŸ˜‰

    Dream team for this GW:
    Button
    Stearman - Prodl - Gibson - Heise - Driscoll-Glennon
King - Kayal - Carlos Sanchez - McCarthy
    Brewster

Delighted to have Button out of these players, though sadly he's not the top player of the week.

If there's only one active GW left, there aren't enough GWs to play all chips. (i.e. if the league continues and all we get is a massive GW38).

Yeah exactly, so if people believe there's only one GW left with actual matches on, makes no difference when to play the other chips just for the sake of it.

    DEF TAA, Cathcart, Stephens*
    MID Salah, KDB*, Mane, Saar
    FWD Auba, Ings*, Jiminez

    Subs Barnes, Saiss, Williams*

That's my GW32 limeup, but before then I want the players with * out.

    Stephens to Alonso

KDB to Fernandes (City have no interest in the league)

    Ings to Giroud/DCL/Pukey

Williams to a max 4.5 - probably a sheff utd.
