Fantasy Football Scout are pleased to announced that we’ll be supporting the Fantasy League Euro 2012 games over the course of the tournament – with Scout Leagues and editorial coverage. This is an exciting opportunity for us to try out a new style of Fantasy game, as the Fantasy League are offering their Pro version of the game, with player auction, for free for the Euro 2012 tournament.

Chairman can set up leagues (with around 8 players the recommended limit) and run auctions offline and online. The online auction facility takes care of player bids and auction rounds, with the chairman specifying other rules such as transfer limits.

It’s a very different Fantasy experience and one that we’re excited to bring to the Scout community. Personally, it was the Fantasy League games that first hooked me into Fantasy Football and there’s nothing quite like a game based on a player auction.

The game is yet to launch but, as soon as it’s available, we’ll be setting up some initial Scout leagues chaired by the likes of Sir Paulos, Andy and myself. Of course, you the community can choose to join these (first come, first served) and/or set up leagues of your own. We will look to support the FFS community leagues by posting league codes and editorial summaries of the auctions and league standings as the they progress through the tournament.

You can of course use the comment boards to set up leagues but we’re also finalising a new Community section which will allow league chairman to submit articles on their leagues. More on that to come.

In fact, there’s plenty more on all this to come in the next 24-48 hours when we expect the Fantasy League to launch and our leagues to form up.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

doesn't deserve any under any system. i think we should take his assist courtesy of a ridiculous keeper error and run

12 for me. Only one for Pienaar? 2 for Valencia. 0 for Siggy.

Looks like I was right on the Peanut, Valencia vs. Siggy!

Pissed off with Fergie for not letting on that Evans may play on Sunday v Sunderland.
I put him on bench and the lost 8 points (would have gained +7) have cost me my work league title, and about £50.
Didn't think there was a hope in hell of him playing, last I heard he was due an operation to sort out a dodgy ankle.
I suppose it's my own fault but have to be angry at someone, so Fergie it is !!!!!!!!!

Came across this on a BBC Podcast recently. Found it quite interesting especially if you're a Man Utd supporter. I wrote a summary of the podcast so apologies if there are any errors. The link is at the bottom if you want to listen to it for yourselves.

Danny Murphy was recently turned down for a penalty claim whilst playing for Fulham against man united at Old Trafford (controversial).

Penalties rarely awarded to teams playing at Old Trafford ?(Patrick Vierra has recently made a claim to this effect)

In actual fact this claim isn't borne out by recent stats (since 2006 anyway)

On average Man Utd have conceded one penalty in every 12 Home games since 2006. Fulham on the other hand have conceded one penalty in every 14 Home games!

Therefore, in this instance, it's easier to get a penalty at Old Trafford than it is at Craven Cottage.!

Chelsea have conceded penalties at home at the rate of only one in eighteen Home games since 2006.

However, given that Chelsea have been one of the most successful teams in this period it might be explained away by the fact that weaker (less successful teams) tend to spend less time in the oppositions penalty area and therefore have a lesser chance of winning (cheating!!) a penalty.

Similarly, Patrick has suggested that the same principle applies on the Continent (as Jose the 'special one' has continually complained that Barcelona enjoy the same privilege as their illustrious British counterparts).

However, since 2006 Real Madrid have conceded penalties at home at the rate of only one in eleven Home games whereas Barcelona have conceded at the rate of one in ten. Furthermore, Real win penalties roughly one in four games whereas Barca only win penalties at home at the rate of only one in five. Real Madrid enjoy a better penalty average that their main rivals despite Jose's protestations to the contrary.

Ironically, if you look at the team who have been awarded the most penalties at Home it's quite interesting to learn that whilst Man Utd have been awarded a penalty at the rate of one in every four and a half games, Patrick Viera's beloved Man City have won a penalty one in every four games.

    Food for thought!
