          Ofcourse friendlies will tell all. I just think they will only play him against really tough oppositions, when they really need hes defense on the wing. Personally im hoping to see RVP on the wing with Hunt up front. Hes a really good crosser and always does well for Arsenal when he goes wide.

      Hard to say at the moment. Arshavin has been declared captain today, so his place in the starting 11 is rather assured. Pav / Pogrebnyak / Kerzhakov have all a good chance to play, I think it will depend on the opponent and their form in June. Kerzhakov's form has been better than Pav's and Pog's recently, so at the moment I'd favour him.

              He hasnt covered himself in glory this season, but maybe Coyle? Or Bob Bradley even? Think he has been linked before.

    Just found out that I have to support Chelsea in the Champions League final.

    My club (Spartak Moscow) has got a place in the Champions League qualification next season. If Bayern win, we'll start in the 3rd qualification round. If Chelsea win, Spurs will be sent off to the Europa League and we'll automatically skip 3rd round and start in the 4th qulification round.

    Dammit, wanted Bayern to win the final and wanted to see Spurs in the Champions League next season...

        He got a lot of assists last year to be fair and his all round play was also much better than this season so I can't blame those who went for him in the first place. Fair play for calling it though

          Assist yes, but scoring in 1/12 shots. Hes like the least efficient striker in the premierlegue. And did not score over 2 goals last season. So never Captain material.

      Crainey and Fox will be the more expensive defenders from them sides then so, but yeah still worth a look with them Assists, Next year i'm going to stay clear of the promoted sides to see who actually delivers in the PL, wasted too many points on the likes of Taarabt, Holt etc..

          Those things are on the website. I agree that making the site more mobile friendly would be a good idea but I don't know what an app would do.

    Brief self-flagellation here ... I've been decent at this game in the past. Not great, but pretty good (never outside top 20k). Joined a new mini league this year. I overthought everything and felt like I had something to prove. Result? Worst. Season. Ever. By far.

    I'm embarrassed. The next season can't start soon enough.

    Mini league went right down to the wire and ended up being decided on my decision to play Evans 'just in case' and my rival's decision to take a hit on a defender instead of keeping the points and getting Evans as an auto-sub (which would have won him the league).

    It's been quite a season - Terrible (I mean terrible) start, many, many times I thought it was over (never more so than yesterday when my rival went points crazy) - but it ended well and, with a finish in the top 6.5k, I'm very happy!

      Commenting on your group a worries. Not really a problem since Russia is one of the best defenses in the tournament, Greece and Poland is one of the best values. Personally im sceptical about this Kadlec fellow, I think the Chechs will finish last in that group.

        Any chance that Malafeev would play instead of Akinfeev for Russia?
        Malafeev has started all the games after Akinfeev's injury without conceeding any.
        Akinfeev was selected to the provisional squad but is he fully fit?

          Yeah, would like an italian defensive option after gw1. I think Englands defence will be pretty solid, would like walker or Cahill, just dont know who will be in it yet. Debuchy for France is a good option after Sagna's injury last week.

          You've conceded 12, he's conceded 10 from my count.

          At least I assume it will count the whole team for conceded and not just defenders otherwise why bother keeping track of conceded goals for mids/forwards.

          All the rules say are:

          If a cup match is drawn, then the following tie-breaks will be applied until a winner is found:

          Most goals scored in the Gameweek
          Fewest goals conceded in the Gameweek
          Virtual coin toss

        Ended on 15k. Gambled on Tevez outdoing everyone in the last 4 game weeks in an attempt to break the 10k. Didn't pay off. A bit lower than my 2k finish last year, but all in all pleased, as no ML's (long story) gave me the freedom to experiment.

        Back stronger come August.
