Fantasy Premier League managers have planning their Double Gameweek 19 in something of a limbo state right now – and the situation changed again on Thursday morning.

Aston Villa’s Sunday afternoon meeting with Everton was postponed, handing the Toffees a Blank Gameweek in the upcoming round of games.

However, Villa are still set for a Double Gameweek as their home match against Newcastle was rearranged for Saturday, January 23.

That means they face Manchester City (away) and the Magpies (home) in Double Gameweek 19, while Steve Bruce’s men now face Arsenal and Villa (both away) in the bumper round of fixtures.

Elsewhere, it was confirmed on Wednesday evening that Leeds’ meeting with Southampton, originally, scheduled for Wednesday, January 20, had been postponed to accommodate FA Cup commitments.

While this was not a massive surprise, following multiple leaks from a variety of outlets, its Fantasy impact is nonetheless significant when it comes to plans for Double Gameweek 19.

Managers who had spent weeks engineering 12 or more Double Gameweek players and eyeing a Bench Boost (along with a hit or two) will be forced back to the drawing board for three days of fraught reshuffling.

Leeds players, in particular, were very well-backed, on the back of their recent form and favourable-looking ties, with many leading managers advocating a double or even triple-up.

Suffice to say, the collection of Double Gameweek players in contention for Fantasy inclusion, is in flux once again.

Naturally, we will be keeping a watchful eye out for changes, updating our free and Premium Members tools accordingly (as we have with the Season Ticker for Southampton Leeds) and, of course, delivering the usual swathe of insight and opinion from the best Fantasy managerial minds on how to deal with these challenges and which strategies to follow before the 11:00 GMT deadline on Saturday.

Check out our Double Gameweek 19 page for the latest information, insight and ideas.

With villa confirmed to still have a DGW19 against City and Newcastle, is it a case of don't buy and don't sell villa players until we know more on the squad? Only Trezeguet has been confirmed positive with COVID

Yup. I'm buzzing that Grealish and Martinez have a DGW and will be keeping both and not planning on bringing any others in

Grealish is a risk with 4YCs but prob worth the taking the risk for the two games. I only have Martinez. I do need a replacement for Balbuena so a cheap Villa def would be useful

    A) Salah, Son, Brewster
    B) Salah, Rashford, Brewster
    C) Son, Rashford, Antonio
    (No Hits)

    D) Son, Rashford, Brewster -> Salah, Grealish, Antonio (-8)

All three play, as planning to BB.

    Thanks all!

You won't need a WC for it. Again, look at the fixtures. Just sell Kane/Son after they face Leeds, and you'll have the funds

Depends on whether they had COVID and recovery after. 9 of 24 first team squad were positive so even if an individual player not affected it could impact output of team perhaps. It is a wait and see for me - doubt buy and don’t sell

feeling relatively happy with 33 points from 6 players with Saka still to play and not using the FH. Do free hitters think it was worth it so far?

So far it's been a bit of a damp squib for us. 38 points and loaded up on big hitters and like others, absolutely gutted that Sterling took that penalty off KdB as I had Kev captained.

    2. Pegboy
      • 15 Years
      5 years, 20 days ago

It has been about par, if pushed I'd probably say it wasn't worth it. Not a terrible decision though, as I've got triple Arsenal to come and likely to get between 46-60 points.

      1. Pegboy
        • 15 Years
        5 years, 20 days ago

On further analysis, yes it was definitely worth it - I'd have got 23 points otherwise, so a 20-35 point swing.

same, with Rowe Smith still to play and an unlikely Gabriel, Kane (c) offset others ding FH and kdb or Son captain

      • 5 Years
      5 years, 20 days ago

No not really, all FH teams were the same template so hardly any gains. However I was stuffed with only 5 players and likely 20pts if I hadn't. 33 is a good score

On 37 with Saka Tierney Laca to go. Not a great score, but worth noting that my 3 players who've returned so far (Cancelo, KDB, Kane) are all players I wouldn't have owned otherwise.

    Thoughts on this -8

Wilson, Kane and Saka to Salah Watkins and Antonio. Exact fund so can't keep Wilson.

Will leave me a bench boost team of

    Martinez, DDG
    Stones, Dias, Lowton, Holding*, Coufal
    Soucek, Bruno, Son*, KDB, Salah
    Antonio, Bamford*, Watkins

So what do I do now, I'm very bad at adjusting to changes once I settled for a plan and plan was to BB but with cancelation of Leeds and Southampton I'm stuck on what to do. Team as follows. Think I'll have to scap my BB plan now.

    Johnstone
    Robertson Cresswell Coufal
    Salah(C) Bruno Soucek Son Raphinha
    Vardy Bamford
