Sky Sports Fantasy Football differential captains for the season run-in

Billy Lumsden selects some differential captaincy options to consider for the coming weeks in Sky Sports Fantasy Football.

Transfers will be few and far between for most Sky Sports Fantasy Football managers, but where can you get that little something extra above and beyond your opponents for the remainder of the season?

Kelechi Iheanacho – £8.4m

You can’t really deem this a surprise pick based on his current form, which has proved that he is here to stay in Brendan Rodgers’s starting XI.

If a total of seven goals in his last five matches isn’t impressive enough, Iheanacho has racked up 57 points during that period, which averages out at just over 11 points per game. Given that his ownership is a mere 2.5% in the top 1,000, he offers a great differential option.

The clincher is the next two matches for Leicester City, with a pair of individual captaincy days at home to West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace in a matter of a week.

Alexandre Lacazette – £10.2m

Lacazette is another player who has come into some recent form. The striker has five goals in his last six matches and is coming into the clash against Fulham off the back of a 17-point haul against Sheffield United, a game in which he scored two goals and earned the Man of the Match award.

The Frenchman boasts 50 points from his last six matches and now finds himself in 1.8% of the top 1,000 Sky Sports Fantasy Football teams. I expect this to increase quite drastically, particularly when considering the current lack of a goal threat and dip in performance levels from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal’s last seven fixtures consist of Fulham, Everton (individual captaincy day), Newcastle United, West Brom, Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion. He could well be a set-and-forget option during this period, then, and one capable of providing a steady drip-feed of points.

Vladimir Coufal – £6.1m

West Ham United have conceded at least two goals in their last three matches but Vladimir Coufal has compensated at the other end of the pitch. He has provided an assist in successive games and has now created six goals this campaign, combining attacking bonuses with semi-regular defensive returns.

Similar to Arsenal, the Hammers have a favourable run-in. Despite a game against Chelsea, David Moyes’s outfit still have Newcastle, Burnley, Everton, Brighton, West Brom and Southampton to play. If ever there was a time to get your clean sheet record up, this would be it.

Again, Coufal is not particularly popular within the top 1,000 Fantasy Football teams, with his 1.4% ownership at this rank tier meaning that he could be a great differential option for the rest of the campaign.

Gundo, Dias > Coady, Moura worth a hit? would WC next week regardless.
Coady can also be some other defender up to 5.1 (already have Dallas, Coufal, Dunk)

I think you need to factor in GW 34 when Lloris has SHU so for me it is

      A) Lloris (eve, SOT, SHU) -4
      B) Martinez (mci, eve)

I might do it and sell Pope for Lloris for a hit

I'm a foreign player, not a UK resident. How does it look at the moment in England regarding the covid situation? according to today's situation and the tendancies, is it realistic to believe the FA could indeed arrange the last two games of the league to be played in front of a crowd?

I did hear they're limiting fans to 2000 tickets for each side ( or was that in total) & all fans need a "positive lateral flow test" 24 hrs before premier games so won't be a full stadium by any means.

          2 years, 11 months ago

          Think he might at that

Just trying to balance out whether fixtures in 33 and 34 are worthwhile if I get Greenwood now. Getting him in would possibly block Maddison in 34 and 35 for me. Don't have me heart set on it but my strategy such as it is involves targeting SHU, Palace and Southampton where possible.

Burnley look very vulnerable too but I worry Dyche will flick the switch back to defence.

I have a little midfield rotation planned of:

GW 32 - Gundogan to Greenwood
GW 33 - Son (who blanks) to Maddison
GW 34 - Salah (plays Man U) to Son (SHU)
GW 35 - get Salah back for one of Greenwood/Son/Maddison

Not sure if it will come off and if injuries/suspensions will allow me.

              Looking at something similar

But see below. I'm also thinking about Palace City in 34. My play is to avoid Mo until 35 - only 33 looks very juicy and worries me - and that allows me an additional transfer in 34 - or at worst a minus 4.

As a matter of curiosity is anyone else eying Palace and City in 34?

It'd help of course if City go out of the CL and the FA Cup but the main glut of fixtures will be done by then. It is one juicy fixture - quite as good as SHU Spurs imo.

Worth a one week punt on a City attacker? Or just get Stones in? 😉

Palace fixture is sandwiched by a potential UCL semi. Would only target if Dortmund win tonight.

        Ty

Hadn't looked at that - definitely wanting/needing a Dortmund win then tonight. Perhaps if they go out City might come back into fashion but as it stands I'm quite happy that they are so far off template with a view to 34.

The hypothetical double in 35 follows 34 so also rather hoping that falls as well given it features Newcastle. But the SGW fixture in 36 is good enough.

    2. WE GO FOR IT
      • 8 Years

Maybe if they lose the CL tie tonight. Otherwise, nope. Although a punt on Kun, if he's back, isn't the worst option, with a potential double in 35 as well.

    Bruno to son (-4)
Have room on the bench for him and kane in 33.

I’m in a similar boat .... I don’t want to lose any of my midfield 5 ... but two matches is a big pull. I’ll wait until after the European matches. If the only option for you is to ditch one of Salah or Bruno ... I’d prob leave Son well alone.

I'm probably leaving as I'll just back Bruno and Salah to beat Son's score in GW32. Because if I get Son in now for either of them, I'll either have to spend points for gettign them back immediately or leave Son on the bench and play a weaker option.

I'll only get him in, if you fancy to captain or TC him, which now looking the the numbers, do look likely. But yeah, I'm not selling either of them. Might sell Digne to a bench fodder and upgrade Gundo for a hit. Let's see.

Popular opinion is yes. It's a rational choice. The options are as I see it

a Son this week (similar current form)
b Son or Kane v SHU (another great fixture and no worries about game time with cup final)
      c DGW35 if it happens
      d Mo v Southampton in 35
      e Mo v Palace in 38

Going this week means you rate the chances of a return against Everton and you're not worried by Cup final being a few days later. All the other SGW fixtures are as good as the one Kane and Son have this week.

    Martinez | Areola
    Vetlman | Azpi | Digne | Shaw | Dawson
    Salah | Gundo | Lingard | Bruno | Jota
    Iheanacho | Kane | Maja

    GW32:
The only way I can (and willing) to get Son is:
Digne + Gundo -> 3.8m bench fodder + Son. Is it worth a hit?
Digne was probably gonna be on my bench anyway. Also, Gundo might not play vs Villa.

    GW33:
Plan would be to downgrade Son to Greenwood/Maddison and upgrade Dawson/3.8m bench fodder.
Would be for hit as well. But Don't expect Dawson to do well vs Chelsea. So, a hit for maybe TAA is probably worth it. Also, Son to anyone who plays is a gain of 2 points anyway.

Just don't have the bench to cover him in 33. Maja starts on bench nowadays and the ither option is to play Azpi and Dawson and hope for a 0-0. I feel there's a gain to be made with Greenwood vs leeds or Madders vs CRY.

Who to get rid of this week out of Gundogan and Raphinha? As an owner of both KDB and Gundo I've been seriously suffering from Pep roulette the last few weeks, however I am planning to FH33 so the City blank next week is not an issue.
With Villa away a harder fixture on paper and Pep surely being forced to rethink such hard rotation after what happened against Leeds, am I mad considering giving the Gundo/KDB double up another chance and transferring out 75% Raphinha instead?

Obviously I am also aware of the fact that City have the FA Cup semi and EFL Cup final either side of the Villa game.

With Pep you never know. I can see one of them starting for sure, which one you never know. Thinking like that, keeping both of them makes sense. Wait for Raph news. If he's out, surely move him. Otherwise wait for the City FA Cup game to get over and pre match presser to get the best idea of who plays. I think KdB might get the nod.
