Allsvenskan Fantasy 2021 – Scout Picks GW3

Forwards have flattered to deceive so far and the defenders are by and large justifying their new premium price tags. Will this continue into GW3 or will we see a reversal of fortunes?

Gameweek 2 review

This section is intended to house some personal thoughts alongside community reviews going forward, the content contained within dependant on available time and interest from the community here and on Twitter. We will try to keep it somewhat short and sweet with the key takeaways taking the central stage.

Allsvenskan Fantasy contributor @poohdini59 on Twitter has provided these superb summaries of data points from GW2:

Maroky Ndione was the clear leader in terms of npxG (non-penalty expected goals) with 1.86, while Blair Turgott failed to register amongst the top five in this category despite scoring a hattrick (from 3 shots). Elfsborg in general had a good game against Varberg, registering 4 big chances and an xG of 2.77, which could bode well for Djurgården in GW3. Djurgården also tops the carts for shots inside the box (14).

Malmö has started this season well and a surprise inclusion for some might be Franz Brorsson as number 5 on the npxG chart.

    Good stuff! I’ve got the armband on Haksa, hoping it pays off! Edvardsen -> Ndione done

      Edvardsen out looks like a good shout. Ndione certainly a great option this week, but of course uncertainties regarding the long-term. Wanted AC & Ndione this week but couldn't justify the moves, especially with Colak fit.

    No changes here. Glad I held Colak given this morning's news that he can start. Expect big things!

    GW3: Nilsson Säfqvist, (Påhlsson);
    J.Larsson, Witry (K), Nilsson, Jallow (V), Knudsen;
    Haksabanovic, Chilufya, Sana, (Carlén, Nanasi);
    Adegbenro, Colak, (Vilhelmsson).

    Red arrow in GW2 but an alright start overall. Witry takes the armband having seen Varbergs concede twice from corners last week & concede a fair few chances down the flanks. Penalty & FK appeal obviously never go unnoticed. Hopefully he can pick up where Larsson (K) left off last week. Good luck all!

    Mitov Nilsson showing just how good a keeper he is. 10 saves in that game.

    Can only judge him on what I know from Eliteserien but he's having a great start to the season.

    What a player.

      Real class, will look at him on the eventual WC without a doubt.

        I watched the highlights, the issue is that I think sirius defense is fairly open, so the saves mitov nilsson had to make were more top class than routine ones. May make it harder for him to get clean sheets

          That said, with 2 bps cause of the amount of work he has to do, it's almost he's a guaranteed 4 plus whatever points from saves and clean sheets. Making it around 120 base points

            He was a save

            David Mitov Nilsson conceded fewer goals than anyone else in the 2020 Eliteserien as well as making more saves per shots on target faced.

            He also had these ratios:

            2.07 saves for every goal conceded inside the area
            9.5 saves for every goal conceded from outside the area

            The clean sheets he helped Sarspborg to last season resulted in 75% of their total league points.

            He was a huge, huge player for them in 2020 so I really wouldn't be too surprised to see him repeat some kind of similar form across the border.

              Oooh that puts into context the saves he made, safe to say he has the history to sustain this over a season and perhaps when sirius gets a clean he will had made saves too
