This Euro game was fun in the opening rounds, but falls apart at the end. The average ownership on my players for the semis is like 37 percent…and only three players registered points in today’s game...

Fanteam have it right ... no transfers past the semis, forces you to play conservative and definitely not have a full team out for the final, or cavalier and gamble on two. I've gone big on Italy and England, that pen shootout was nerve racking!

What are the chances that Grealish starts tomorrow? Should I sub him in for one of my 2 point performers from today? (F.Torres, Alba, Insigne, Immobile, etc)

    I don’ understand
They allow fans to enter stadiums for next seasob for full capacity but then covid outbreak among players and then quarantine and game cancelling and so?
    Why don’t they vaccinate players

Vaccination wont necessarily stop the outbreak

If the cases rises before PL starts, doubt they would allow full capacity.

Vaccination doesn't have an immediate effect so wouldn't save the game in question. There is a strong argument for vaccinating the whole PL reducing the chances of a Covid outbreak in the first place, however. Especially now all over 18's all eligible for a jab.

How effective is vaccination in preventing the spread anyway? Does it not just mitigate the effects if you do get it?

I had COVID a few weeks ago and myself and my partner had one shot weeks prior to that. My partner's Mum had to isolate with us and had it and she'd already had both shots.

The mitigating effects of a single jab make a big difference, and the effects of two jabs even more so.

Wimbledon spectators have to prove either that they have had their second jab at least 14 days previously or that they have passed a lateral flow test within the last 48 hours, and similar requirements may be made for football spectators and people going on foreign trips.
Quarantine rules will probably be relaxed at some point for those who have had their two jabs or tested negative after returning from abroad or coming into contact with positive COVID cases, but perhaps not for those who are currently suffering from it or living with someone who is until they have all tested negative.

My niece and her husband both caught COVID a week or two after their first jab, but it was not too severe; they realise that they would probably have had to be hospitalised if they had not already had their first jabs.

All over-18s (apart from a small minority who have genuine medical reasons not to) should get vaccinated and not take unnecessary risks until they have done so. Once the large majority of the population including all the most vulnerable have had both their jabs, COVID should be no greater a danger than flu, and already the number of deaths from COVID is only about a tenth of the number from flu and other respiratory diseases. We will just have to live with it, with the help perhaps of annual booster inoculations for the most vulnerable.

That's my query though. I know it mitigates the effects of the virus significantly, but does it actually help prevent infection in the first place which was BITM2007's point.

Like flu, we may never be able to prevent infection completely, but once we have all had our two jabs it should be no more dangerous than flu. We'll just have to live with that.

I know mate, I'm not disputing any of this. My point was that I'm not sure BITM2007's comment below is valid, as it was my understanding that the vaccination is not good at preventing an outbreak, but mitigating the effects of it for people that become infected. They are different things.

"There is a strong argument for vaccinating the whole PL reducing the chances of a Covid outbreak in the first place"

I think BITM2007's comment is valid.
Vaccinating the whole PL may not completely eliminate the chances of a COVID outbreak, but it would considerably reduce both the chances and severity of one.
My understanding is that vaccination not only mitigates the effects if you catch it, it should also mean that even if you do infect someone else you would only pass on a weak dose.
In the same way that young children are not only less severely affected, they have also not been passing on severe COVID to their parents and other family members.
In particular, if any PL players or staff do catch it after they have all been fully vaccinated they should just be able treat it in the same way as they would a mild flu outbreak.

UEFA are pretty stingy with assists in the Euros and CL fantasy format, they often don't give assists that other sites do.

i think its the other way round, FPL are very creative in giving assists,

Uefa is more realistic with its approach!

Their listed rules do accomodate 'fantasy assists' though, they just often don't give ones that the rules suggest they should. Not talking about the Chiesa goal btw.

Looks real class to me. Could well be worth the money. However, Bielsa tends to integrate new players into his systerm slowly. He could be like Rodrigo last season. On the other hand, JF's style seems suited to Bielsa so he could slot in quickly. What I might do is start with Ayling, with a mind to switch to JF after GW5 if he does look nailed.

As an aside, if he does start the season, it should mean Dallas stays in midfield and doesn't revert to FB.

Alioski is class. 3 assists from LB position, with Leeds tighten up. i think its safe to say Bielsa use att fullback too. Just Ayling underarchieve.

Anyone know latest on Lingard. Surely won’t get much game time at Man Utd. Would be good fantasy asset if ends up back at West Ham at 7m and on pens(think he was on pens at end of season after Rice missed one).

Yeah really hope he goes to West Ham

Should really be 7.5 if he lands there, so nice bit of nailed value in a decent team, who’s greedy and might even have penalties after rice’s last miss
