Last chance to enter FanTeam’s £1m season game – start on 202 points in GW4

Sponsored by FanTeam

Thought you’d missed the boat on FanTeam‘s £1m FPL-style Fantasy game?

Fear not, as you have one final chance to enter ahead of Gameweek 4 – and you won’t be starting from zero points!

Late registration is still open for FanTeam‘s season-long game, which carries a guaranteed prize pool of £1m.

And if you sign up for a Fantasy Football Scout annual Premium Membership for the 2021/22 season and a FanTeam £1m Premier League game ticket worth £20, you’ll get a refund or extension on your FFS Membership!

CLICK HERE TO GET THE FANTEAM TICKET/SCOUT MEMBERSHIP OFFER

Finishing in the top 5,000 places ensures a cash prize, with £200,000 of the kitty going straight to the winner.

Weekly and monthly prizes are also awarded.

New teams registered before the next FanTeam deadline at 11am BST on Saturday morning will be handed a whopping 95% of the average Gameweek 1-3 scores (which equates to 202 points), so will immediately have the edge over thousands Fantasy managers who were involved from the outset.

In case you needed more persuading, here’s how you can turn your late entry into an advantage.

UNLIMITED TRANSFERS

Those entering a new team in FanTeam‘s £1m FPL-style Fantasy game will get unlimited free transfers between now and the start of Gameweek 4.

While those who registered teams before 2021/22 got underway will only have one or two free transfers (and the precious Wildcard) in their locker, managers of newly entered teams will get to tweak their sides as much as they like until the next deadline.

GAMEWEEK 1-3 EYE TEST AND STATS

Picking a squad ahead of Gameweek 1 relies a lot on gut instinct, with the knowledge that last season’s performances and statistics may now be immaterial.

Fantasy managers entering a FanTeam squad ahead of Gameweek 3 will have the benefit of having seen all 20 Premier League clubs in action on the first two Gameweeks of 2021/22, so will be armed with line-up information, eye test observations and up-to-date underlying stats when creating their teams from scratch.

For example, shots on target are now rewarded with points in FanTeam – so we can see now see which players are racking up the efforts for their teams (as above), as well as the usual goals and assists.

FIXTURE SWINGS

A number of sides are about to go on excellent fixture runs, namely Wolves, Leeds, Watford and Arsenal, while the likes of Aston Villa are set to embark on trickier schedules.

For example, late entrants can select Patrick Bamford (£7.5m) over Danny Ings (£8.1m) and be one step ahead of the curve in readiness for Leeds’ eye-catching fixtures.

MAKE ROOM FOR RONALDO…

Image

While most of us face a CR7-sized headache as to how to accommodate Manchester United’s ‘new’ signing, late entrants can either add him from the off – he’s priced up as a more tempting £11.5m forward in FanTeam, too.

A home fixture against a defensively suspect Newcastle United side immediately after the international break certainly look appealing.

Who's Arsenal number one keeper actually?

Because 2nd GK was Runarsson and 3rd Okonkwo. In other words: if Leno got injured, we'd be screwed.

So 1. qualities and abilities, 2. back up most likely at the start, 3. potential #1 soon, 4. competition between goalkeepers, 5. home grown quota.

Because Ramsdale has been in a team relegated form the premier league 2 years running and thought that lightening couldn't happen 3 times - or could it !!

Leno will leave at the end of the season.

His days are numbered. Expect him to lose the #1 at some point this season

Almost everyone has 2 players in their team who are 11.5m-12.5m. So how can your comment ever make sense?

Because you're probably getting rid of a nailed on starter whose already £10-12m in order to bring him in.

It's not like you're ditching a £5m mid to get him, is it.

That bit made sense to me.

Not capping him suggests that you don't think he'll start, but you're giving yourself some protection in case he comes on and does what Camzy suggested he might do

          1. TheTinman
            • 8 Years

Not captaining him suggests you don't think he will be the highest scoring player this week. It also suggests your bringing him in for fear of ownership.

I never play this game out of fear, so maybe it's an alien concept for me.

But i don't see any reason why someone can't bring him in and not captain him as they would prefer to captain Salah v Leeds or Lukaku v Villa.

      2. artvandelay316
        • 3 Years

If you think he will only come off the bench and has lacked the time in training to acclimatise to the team, why would you cap him? Especially if you have someone like Salah or Antonio as an alternative.

So If I bring Lukaku and Ronaldo in this week, I shouldnt, because I wont captain one of them...?? Nice logic *thumbs up*

And how badly would you kick yourself if he scores a hat trick?

      It's Newcastle at home.

You either think he'll start and bring him in as captain or don't bring him in at all imo.

        Doesn't make sense.

If you think he is the second best premium asset to own this week then there is every reason to bring him in and not captain him.

And you don't kick yourself too hard for not captaining him because you thought he was the 2nd best asset that week. You should only kick yourself if you make a decision based on outside influence, particularly for ownership reasons.

This raises a good point about the current defence stats. Arsenal aside (+ they played City with 10 men) Newcastle are the worst defence on most metrics.

BUT, it's only 3 games, and looking at those 3 games they are surely ones that Bruce felt he could/should go out and win:

Against West Ham & Soton at home they were very attacking, clearly went out to win. Not sure how the villa (a) game went? But perhaps Newcastle will set up very differently at old trafford?

Was there a bigformation/personnel change in those games vs big 6 last season?

            1. TheTinman
              • 8 Years
              2 years, 6 months ago

Yes we were extremely open vs West Ham on the counter attack. The villa game was just poor from both sides.

The defence has looked vulnerable due to a couple of injuries, I presume that we will have a stronger back line.

Wilson injured also means it will be Joelinton or Almiron up front. Almiron has played as part of a CM 3 in the first games. He will definitely be swapped out for a more defensive CM.

We will sit really deep and try to counter attack with ASM, Almiron and Joelinton.

This will leave us less vulnerable I behind Ritchie. Who, although has created a lot, has been the fault of around 50% of our goals this season

If he starts he is the best captain choice, right? If Utd had a tougher game, or if Ronaldo was late back from the internationals, there would have been enough risk involved for me to favour someone else. But all the signs now are that he will start against the most obliging defence in the league so far..

For someone to have -xA that would mean that the player who was passed the ball missed an "expected to score" opportunity right?

Or does it mean the player delivered a poor pass which should have resulted in an assist opportunity?

if player A pass to player B and he shoots, then player B will get an xG of a certain amount determined by the chance. say player B gets an xG of 0.5, then player A will get an xA of 0.5.

Therefore, underperforming your xA only means your teammates have been finishing poorly. The same goes the other way, if you overperform your xA it means your teammates are being clinical. So, your xA relative to your actual assist count says more about your teammates than yourself.

      1. Deeney-is-a-god

last season kane overpeformed his xA by a lot and Son overperformed his xG by a lot, therefore it is easy to conclude that Son played a major part in Kane overperforming his xA

What cohesion? Please explain this United cohesion that we missed. I watch United weekly their goals often rely on individual brilliance rather than a system and Ronaldo is individually brilliant. Ronaldo does not need to be taught how to play the No9 position he's one of the best in the world.
Did Lukaku need to be taught cohesion? He started the first game.

One thing I've been considering is having Traore/Sarr in the Raph slot, and doing Torres --> Raph for either GW5 or GW6.
Torres days are numbered - its already been stated that KdB/Foden will feature from the bench (at least) in GW4 which is going to put a big question mark on him for GW5. You dont really want Raph for GW4 so that makes a lot of sense to me.

    If you have to pick three off the following who do you opt not to pick;

    1) Jimenez
    2) Traore
    3) Semedo (or other defender)
    4) Sa

I see more value in their defence than attack. Both Traore/Jimi would need to deliver before I consider jumping on.

    Hello,

I'm back after being banned from the website for 24 hours (hello free speech!):

Apparently this was Elfozzie 42 reply but i can't find the comment anywhere:

    "
Unfortunately I have to take issue with virtually everything that's said here. The fact that we're allowing you to have your say in our own comments (and also on Instagram, Twitter, etc) I believe underlines that we are an incredibly open and tolerant community. We have also responded to you several times in emails and explained our position, but what you're actually saying here is that you don't like our decision and you aren't getting what you want so you're going to make a huge fuss. The incredible irony that you are supposedly appealing to our 'goodwill' whilst doing this 1. It was very clear it was a rolling agreement - we outlined we were doing this in advance before we made the change well over a year ago. It is listed on the registration page clearly, also when you put your details into Stripe/Paypal.
    "

When i was promised a new members area back in 2020 as an incentive to sign-up to FFScout as a premium member, i don't recall myself asking for a refund or even FFScout offering a discount or some of the membership fee back as the promise wasn't kept. At least it would be an act of goodwill.

I believe that any organisation should be oriented for customer satisfaction, and on this case it seems that FFScout clearly don't have their customers interests as a priority.

I've clearly shown my intention to not be a paid member for the next year, but you've clearly ignored my wishes as long my money is in your pockets the FFScout is a happy family!

FFScout has clearly not shown good faith in resolving this situation as has even blocked me from the Forum section. I don't think this is a way of having an open and direct conversation about the subject.

I was not made aware that this was a rolling membership, as i haven't seen it anywhere. I should have received an email reminder that my membership was coming to an end / renewal, but this hasn't happened.

I hope you can refund my membership as i clearly have no interest in using your services in the near future (even more after the unpleasant exchange of emails and arguments that we had in the past few days).

    Best Regards,
    Andre

Sadly there isn't any email reminder that the subscription is coming to an end / renewal and you need to go into detail information that is not shown explicitly that is an auto-renewal subscription.

Yes it does not say there auto renewal. It says subscripsion renewal. I at least read that as auto renewal. But then again I have had past experiences with renewals from other places as well.

E-mail is a good sign yes, but then again they have that info in your profile here as well. At least they have it there now. Don't know about the past, since I'm quite new mwmber here.

How did so many people miss this, was the clearly signposted renewal rule introduced after people had signed up last year? Or have lots of people just not paid attention and now are upset

I don't know but you're right. There's been a lot of people and I'm sure even more behind closed doors too.

When I signed up this year it was very clear that it auto renews.

FFS probably do need to come out and say something as it doesn't look good at the moment.

          1. @persecuted_by_mods
              2 years, 6 months ago

Yeah their wording keeps saying it was clear but if it's only clear this year on signing up, but the renewal included people who registered last year and it wasn't clearly signposted then, then how were they to know

I saw it when i signed up. However, there are several issues. It is a yearly take out, very very easy to forget. All my other subs are monthly, so are regular enough to not be a surprise. I would have forgotten had I not seen the original posts. Secondly there is no reminder email. This is the first site I've seen not do this. These reminder emails from other sites have actually meant I've shifted money into the correct account in time so it isn't sent negative. But thirdly, the lack of goodwill on this. He clearly did not want to resubscribe, he was 1 day into his 'new' subscription, wasn't using the members area to get extra info and bail out, and they showed him the hand.
Yes the OP went over the top by posting the gripe on multiple posts. But. It was very poorly handled and what else is he going to do? Just refund the money and give people the info and updates they need to remember these things

It definitely says your membership auto renews when you. As a non-paying member (at the moment) I've just checked and if I was to sign up now, it definitely says they'll be an auto-renew.

Obviously you've got a gripe, rightly or wrongly but not sure posting like this is the correct way to go about your business. There's definitely better and more official ways you can take this up, research consumer rights.

My opinion What I will say is, I find the mod's very helpful, friendly and approachable here.

Going through the Resolver website, they've stated the following about this similar issue:

            "
            Automatic renewals
A lot of contracts for digital services have automatic renewals built into them. Generally speaking, you should always check the terms and conditions when you sign up! Anyone providing one of these services should set out when and why your contract will renew in either the T&Cs or in your contract. If you didn’t realise that your contract was supposed to automatically renew, your best bet is to get in contact with the company. Explain the situation and ask if they can do anything about it. If your contract or the T&Cs set out the terms of renewal, you’ll be relying on goodwill to get the charges revoked.
            "

As you can see my case is subject to goodwill and that's what annoys me the most as FFScout is not showing any of that!

Well, 8 days between Saturday and the Chelsea game, then another 7 to the Arsenal game. Presumably he won't play in the Europa Plate during the group stages. So it really depends whether he feels OK or not and he has recent history for recovering fast after minor issues.

Got a couple of wildcard builds on the go (I know, drunken mistake... trying to make the best of it now).

First of all: Target state for GW8
          DDG 4
          TAA Dias James (Livra Willy)
          Salah Mount Raph Troare (Happy)
          Lukaku DCL Antonio

Now the Wildcard team. There are a couple of short term options.
          DDG 4
          TAA Shaw ____ (Livra Willy)
          Salah ____ _____ Troare (Happy)
          CR7 DCL Antonio

          A) Tierney, Jota, Raph.
Notes: Raphs fixture for GW4 is bad. Is Jota good for the next 3. Arsenal might continue to appalling.
          B) Dias, Torres, Sarr.
Notes: Plan is Torres --> Raph for GW5. Sarr good for the next 3. Dias fixtures are poor for GW6/7.

All I could deduce from this ramble was that your not getting him in because he’s old

              fair play!
I just look at great strikers coming to premier league with so much excitement, I was convinced Timo would score 20+ last season. And that ruined my team in first few game weeks, this time, I am going to be patient!

i'm getting in Ronaldo for free this week and in gw 7 hes going for Lukaku and by that time i hope to bank 0.2/3.
Rather not bet against him while it doesn't effect my team structure

That is an excellent point, I find it hard sometimes making these calm decisions, but I agree with you!

What would you like us to comment on? Whether or not to get Ronaldo? Your storytelling skills?

Don't care what the comment is, just said not to be too serious...
Just a little synopsis from my 20 years playing FF and the hype around Ronaldo, is every one hyped?
I have taken it so seriously before and when I do, I score less..anyway, just have a great season and laugh as much as you can!!

Meaning that only the top 1.1M teams have transferred in CR7?

European Clubs' Association chief executive Charlie Marshall said clubs need to know in the next 24 hours "if they can play their Brazilians or not".

The situation should become clear soon!

There would be outrage if they tried to ban them after the Argentine fiasco

Got a plan for Lukaku in GW7, but no plan whatsoever to get CR7. Make or break time!

What's the argument against Ronaldo starting now that he's been training?

No argument really, just speculation as the first team won't be used to him.

Personally don't think it's a big deal, Lukaku started for Chelsea within days of joining.

United win comfortably without him. Comes on for last 10 mins.....still scores 2!

Article on BBC saying the Prem clubs are demanding to know in the next 24 hours if their Brazilian players are suspended.

The players called up were Liverpool trio Alisson, Fabinho, and Roberto Firmino, Manchester City's Ederson and Gabriel Jesus, Chelsea defender Thiago Silva, Manchester United's Fred, Leeds forward Raphinha, and Everton striker Richarlison.

          Best 7.8 or lower?

          Currently on Greenwood but I'm considering;

          1) Jota
          2) Mount
          3) Torres

I can't see Greenwood being dropped this week, he's on fire and right wing is his own at the moment.

            Jota based on Firmino news.
            Greenwood second option.

            3 for explosiveness
            2 for consistent points
1 for a compromise between the two.

            My order would be:
            Torres
            Jota
            Greenwood
            Mount

Also, worth considering the price difference. Torres allows upgrades elsewhere.
