November was another bumper month for GoalScorer Challenge (GSC) players, with two lucrative international rounds.

Congratulations in particular to SSouthern86, who wins the Fantasy Football Scout Premium Membership with eight goals in the month.

If you’re interested in joining in, why not sign up now? GoalScorer Challenge is a free and fun addition to the Fantasy world, so get involved. You’ll struggle to catch the leaders and win the £500 overall prize but a Scout Premium Membership is up for grabs every single month.

November GSC Summary

It was a bit of a mixed bag this month. Operation ‘Target Norwich’ faltered as they improved at the back but the international weeks provided ample opportunity for goals.

Gameweek 17

This was a poor week, with nearly half of you picking Ivan Toney (595 picks) who blanked against Norwich.

Gameweek 18

Back to the internationals, with a Harry Kane (61) hat-trick the highlight and a goal for top pick Ilkay Gündogan (104) also noteworthy.

Gameweek 19

There were loads of goals here. With team news uncertain at the deadline, only 133 gambled on Kane starting against San Marino and were richly rewarded with four goals! Bukayo Saka (268) and Emile Smith Rowe (153) scored, too.

Gameweek 20

There was nothing for Callum Wilson (240) against Southampton, resulting in a poor week for most.

Gameweek 21

Two goals each for Diogo Jota (90) and Jamie Vardy (77) but none of the other top picks scored.

Gameweek 22

Callum Wilson (346) redeemed himself with a goal against Norwich.

It’s getting trickier to pick goalscorers now. A large percentage of the leaders have selected most of the big names, and with over 30 Gameweeks remaining, this is where it all gets a bit tactical.

There are six GSC Gameweeks in December, however, so lots of opportunities for goals.

Over on Twitter, we’re trying to raise £5,000 for Shelter in the run-up to Christmas by deciding the best goal ever scored in the UEFA Champions League. If that sounds like your sort of thing, check out #BestCLGoalTournament or the @GoalscorerC page. Please donate and share if you can.

Thanks and good luck!

I would get Bowen and play him over either the possibly injured ESR, the cameo risk Jesus or Dennis

Yea, a lot relies on Son IMO. Lots of mid fielder options now and potentially United options too. He’s my ‘cash cow’ but might be a good option in his own right.

What would you do first? 2 ft.

Jesus and Antonio can become Vardy and Dennis or King.

I prefer Dennis i think. Also have Wilson.

Or switch Sanchez back to Ramsdale?

I've also got Foster to sort out too.

      Save

Relax, your team is fine. Next week, aim to funnel some of that funds sitting on your bench into your XI.

But no rush, you still have good players in your XI that could haul at any moment. Just need some luck and patience.

I think that's being a bit too kind tbh.

He has no City, no route to MUN and still has the likes of Jimenez and Mbeumo.

I would probably look to take some hits to get back on track.

He has Cancelo. City mids can be a minefield.

There's no immediate rush with any of that. No sense in flushing 4pts down the drain to switch one good asset for another good asset, a week earlier. Can do changes next week. No rush.

He has Cancelo. Just has to shift Jimenez and Mbuemo to a City mid and someone. United assets aren't gonna be important anytime soon. Expensive risks most of them.

    2FTs

    Sanchez
    TAA Cancelo James Alonso
    Salah Jota Bowen*
    Vardy Antonio Toney

    Steele / Gallagher ESR Livramento

    *Bowen is currently Raphinha, planned

Save other FT or Sanchez > Ramsdale? Arsenal have some favourable fixtures and Brighton's are quite tricky - they also have some injuries too.

Also, total benching headache next week.

That may be true however I'd rather just bench him this week if I had too.

Gallagher has EVE & ESR has SOU.

But our fixtures are a bit better now. Leeds tricky as ever but more CSs to come for Chelsea. Shame our midfield is a bit broken.

I might still, I have various routes for it.

But the thing is City mids are quite unreliable, good fixtures or otherwise.

More often than not I've got by fine without piling on City mids because the rest of my squad is okay.

Vardy can find it after this week, for example - given I can shift ESR/Gallagher.

My original plan was to save a FT but Sanchez/Ramsdale is becoming a bit or a recurring issue. It was similar with Martinez last season & it kept costing me.

    Hi fellow fpl-experts!
I've planned to get Bowen into my team right around now, but currently have this midfield:
    Salah - Foden - Son - Bilva - Jota

    What would you do?

    1) Drop Son and do Antonio->Ronaldo "soon"
    2) Drop someone else for Bowen? Who?
    3) Hold the 5 and keep Antonio as my hammers representative

Problem with Broja is that you can't rely on him to start when you want him. Not at the moment anyway. Frustrating because he looks to be the best striker at the club

I guess but I think he'll be benched mostly. I'm not really ever gonna want to bench a front 6 of Salah, Jota, Gundo, Bernardo, Ronaldo, Antonio.

If Broja coimes in it'll be when one of those front 6 don't play so it couldn't be predicted at all anyway.

Gundo Could easily get rotated with KDB back and Ronaldo will definitely have the odd benching over Christmas
Bowen king looks the better pick

I think kdb is the one who will play the least tbh. Might change but he is very injury prone so I can see Pep being careful with him. Kdb could play false 9 in games he starts

Issue with your defense is you probably lose points more than you gain if CHE/MCI keep a clean sheet. Hard to get around that though.

I'd be tempted to avoid Bissouma due to his bail ending very soon.

Wait for news on Johnson. Not the worst if he's permabenched though.

Think Guaita & Bachmann together is needless. Bachmann offers little.

How much money do you have for a GK if Bachmann is a 4.0?

      1. Krafty Werks
        • 9 Years
        2 years, 4 months ago

Yes to all the above points, thanks for the feedback. There is a 3.9 fodder keeper in the game now so could go that route and then upgrade Guaita > Ramsdale at 4.9 as a set? The better option do you think?

        1. Krafty Werks
          • 9 Years
          2 years, 4 months ago

Much will depend on the fitness of Johnson I guess? If he's only out a week I can take and go with Ramsdale over Guaita but if not then I think perhaps keeping Guaita and upgrading Johnson to a playing 4.3 is probably more important with the Christmas schedule?

Also I think Lamptey is exciting but reliable over Christmas? Perhaps not. An alternative 4.5m could be better till his fixture improve around GW20 or so. Not if you don't plan to start though, I guess.

It's tough but I'd do Ramsdale & 3.9m if nothing else possible. You're never going to start Bachmann. Who knows if Foster could be back to nick his spot again anyway.

Ramsdale + 3.9m as goalie for me, easy.
Johnson can be Williams/Manquillo depending on injury.

It is an OK team - but after seeing a few wildcards on here many posters are forgetting about Villa and I have not seen any Greenwood picks from United.
If I was wildcarding I would be definitely looking at Watkins great fixtures cheap - and maybe even those two Villa wingbacks.
You are thinking the same a lot of wildcarders on here it seems. But I there could be a few that they are not thinking of that could be good/better value.

Is it worth selling Alonso to fund a City mid?

If you have cancelo, I'd look at getting a city mid over a defender

I did this last night but kinda regret selling double CHE defense ahead of Leeds. But there was some noise coming out around Alonso’s form, injury, potential rotation etc

I’d now want to hold another week in hindsight

2 options and 2.4 available for upgrades.

    1. Gray to Mount, Bowen, Bernardo, Foden
    2. Save FT because I already have strong XI for next GW (on paper)

Would you downgrade Guiata to Bachman to fund Raph to Bilva? 0.2 short as is
Otherwise it’s a downgrade of Kane or Antonio but nothing stands out. Not the week for Watkins etc

    Team is linked

      That is for a -4 I assume?
I looked at your team - if it was me. I would either

      1) save the transfer and bench Raphinha (Bamford is back - which could make him a decent pick in a few gameweeks

      2) Shake up my team a bit and sell Kane for the likes of Aubameyang/Watkins
I know you said it is bit early for Watkins but he has four nice fixtures out of the next seven. I also noticed you have White who could sub in for Watkins

Thanks the taking the time here
        I have 2ft and 0.7itb

Don’t think I’ll sit on Raphinha
Tempted to rage trade K2ne and mix it up. Watkins might be worth it just feels odd benching someone you just bring in.
Could actually bring in Bernardo or Foden for free via Raph or even -4 with Gilmour out and bring in both city, to tackle the fixtures?

At 400k rank it’s time for something different.
Just means no plan to bring in United attack, at least not Ronaldo. He should score goals but don’t see him being ‘value’

With the below team: 1FT, 0.0 itb

    Sa'
    TAA Cancelo James Reguilion
    Salah Son Gallagher
    King Antonio Jesus

    subs: Steer Raphinha Livramento Sissoko

    Is the below worth it?

Jesus + Raphinha > Bernardo + Watkins (-4) , just bench Watkins for the Liverpool game.

      Are you happy holding Antonio?

I can see Raphinha is popping up often as a transfer for Bowen but I suspect he'll score again today.

Maybe even a couple of goals?

      I'd sell Jesus tho.

Kane owners will he finally repay the faith today & what are you doing with him after?

I want to get Bowen in for Raph this week so if Kane finally gets a return I am going to keep for Brighton who have a load of defensive injuries.

This will give me an extra week to assess Man U attackers & decide whether to go Ronaldo, Bruno or Sancho

If Kane blanks today then it’s curtains & a rage transfer to Ronaldo is likely!

I am not a Kane owner - but I have been watching him closely as I own Son. Son seems more a striker than Kane these days.
Kane seems to be playing as more as a link man than a striker.

If I was Kane owner I think I would be looking at other options besides Ronaldo. As one of that Man United midfield is bound to prove the value pick.
