Sky Sports 2012/13 Fantasy Game Now Open

We may have waved farewell to Euro 2012 just less than a week ago but already Fantasy managers can start to plan for the domestic season ahead, with the news that the official Sky Sports game is now open for business.

The first Fantasy game released for the 2012/13 season, there is £100,000 in prizes to be won in this free-to-enter competition, with a cool £25K handed out to the winner. With Sky quick out the blocks on the back of today’s updated tv fixture list, rival competitions are likely not to be too far behind, forging a sense of anticipation amongst the community as we await the opening of the upcoming Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.

Already, we’re looking over the Sky game and weighing it up for inclusion amongst our official Scout Leagues – for now, this is just a heads-up but stay tuned…

      Nothing. He'll start every single game barring injury or fatigue. Definitely getting him if he's cheap, hopefully no more than 5.5m.

      The above guys are correct - Debuchy (if he signs - god willing) will be nailed on RB.

      Defence will be: Santon, Collocini, S. Taylor, Debuchy

      If Douglas signs he'll be competing with Taylor for a place.

          Not without an extraordinary fee being paid. He's the club captain and was given an improved contract recently. Pardew wants to build the team around him - he's recognised as the reason we kept so many clean sheets last season. A cut above.

        Are you likely to continue with 4-3-3 next season Windmill? I'd like to get Cabaye if he's the attacking of the midfield trio, and he may even nab penalties if Demba Ba leaves. All speculation though ofcourse.

          Honestly couldn't guess at this stage I'm afraid, I'll be watching pre-season with great interest. I guess it depends on transfers in and out still but I wouldn't be surprised to see Pardew alter formation and personnel depending on opposition next season. If I get any insight I'll be happy to post about it.

        Oh, and whilst Simpson performed admirably for us and I bear him no ill will, if we have any intention of remaining a top 8 side we need better. Same reason Guthrie was allowed to go.

      Was going to go with the tried and tested 4-4-3, but there seems to be a lot more value to be add among the mid-priced midfielders, than the mid-priced strikers.

      Just as an example, Hatem Ben Arfa is 6.2.

      Strikers Chamakh, Vaz Te, Lukaku, and Noel Hunt are also 6.2

      Hence I'm currently playing 4-4-2.

    As a Spurs fan I may be slightly bias, but I am really surprised with the tone of Brendan Rogers' statement about Gylfi. Clearly some bitterness lingers from the previous manager.

    Rodgers said: "I am quite relaxed. He did fantastic for me at Swansea last season. I brought him in when he was not playing at Hoffenheim. He was very good for me and scored seven goals in 19 games. We sat down and spoke and we said that playing football was the most important thing but obviously the financial side was important, too. We agreed a deal for Swansea but then I left to become Liverpool manager.

    "I know what the market was and I was not prepared to pay anything over what I knew had already been agreed before. Liverpool would have provided Gylfi with a wonderful opportunity to perform with a manager that he knew at a club that is a footballing institution. But he has decided to go to Tottenham for whatever reason. I wish him all the best and he is a good kid. There is no ill feeling. We have got other targets and we will move on."

      Athletes will win 10 points every time they place first in an event final. They will receive 7 points for finishing as runner-up, 5 points for placing third, 3 points for fourth, 2 points for fifth while each athlete who finishes an event will receive 1 point.

      Athletes who do not start or finish their event will receive 0 points but athletes who are disqualified with be penalized with a -5 score.

      The team captain will earn double points, which means he or she will receive 20 points for winning an event, 14 points for coming second, 10 points for coming third and so on.

      Athletes who achieve a Meeting Record will also receive double points in that event while anyone who sets a new World Record will earn triple points in that event.

      Wouldn't read anything into that - Douglas is reluctant to return after summer break and De Jong has time off after being in the Euro squad.

      I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying they can play in the quals and for a different team in the group stage anyway.

    I read the rules in the Sky game(haven't played it before) and found it too tough for me.. Once I start playing fantasy football I think about it a lot during times when I shouldn't..And these set of rules with Saturday transfers before a Sunday game are even more complicated..
    I will just play the official one..

      What's so complicated? Once your team is picked you only need to remember to pick your captain each week and make up to 30 transfers during the season, no more than 5 in gw. Not that hard surely?
      With regard to the sunday thing it just means that Sat players have to be transferred in before ko Sat, Sun players have to be transferred in by ko Sun.
