Fantasy Football Scout are delighted to bring you more information on CLUB, a free-to-play mobile Fantasy game that allows football fans to create, build and sell their own digital football club and step into the shoes of a Club Owner (CO).

From picking your players to choosing your kit design and upgrading your stadium, CLUB combines the thrill of Fantasy Football with the strategy and excitement of a management/club-building game and is available on iOS and Android.

PRE-REGISTER FOR CLUB HERE

Having brought you a basic ‘how to play’ last month, we’ve got a fresh update from CLUB HQ – and it’s the big reveal of their squad screen (see below):

The big takeaway from the images is that you can choose from real players from across Europe’s top five leagues – not just the Premier League – and select them in authentic player positions, rather than the cover-all ‘defence’, ‘midfield’ and ‘attack’.

Intuitive scoring, live substitutes and starting formations add to the real-life feel.

Real Players

Football fans often want to flex their knowledge and, for many supporters around the world, discovering talent and watching games across Europe is a lifelong passion. CLUB will allow users (or ‘Club Owners’, in the game’s parlance) to put this passion into practice by having available players from Europe’s top five leagues. So whilst you won’t be able to have a team full of Galacticos from the start, it’s a perfectly plausible scenario as your club grows over time.

The result of having a wider pool of players to choose from, of course, is that it should see a sizeable reduction in ‘template’ teams and negate the effective ownership factor that a lot of us have come to hate in FPL.

Real player positions

Players will have their designated positions based on their historical performances for their clubs, so you will need to buy and select individuals who are able to play in your club’s formation (more of which below). This adds to the authentic experience: you can’t, for example, have four left-backs in your defence.

This means you’ll have challenges to face on whether you have a world-class player who only plays in one position or someone who is perhaps a more versatile option (hello, James Milner).

Intuitive Scoring

The intuitive scoring is more reflective of a football fan’s ‘eye test’. So whilst goals, assists and clean sheets will obviously be included, it’ll also reward players based on their overall contribution. For example, an N’Golo Kante masterclass with no goals or assists would still see him score competitively and reflect his wider on-field exploits.

What you see on the pitch will hopefully be what you see in the scores.

Live Substitutions

In some Fantasy games, managers can often feel powerless after locking in their team for the Gameweek. The stress this can cause has been a hot topic of discussion lately. But if you were running a club in real life you would have the power to react to events – and you will in CLUB, too!

With in-Gameweek substitutions, you can stick or twist on a player during the game. You can even replace non-starters and players who play a minimal part (those annoying two-minute cameos!) with another player from your bench. And the standard auto-sub rules are still there to catch it if you forget.

All of this means you can have some interesting decisions to make after kick-off, and you can stress a bit less about the dreaded Pep Roulette…

Formations

Staying true to real football, you’ll have a formation to select for your club. As your club progresses, you’ll be able to unlock more advanced formations in the game. This, coupled with authentic player positions, will really allow users to utilise their real-world football knowledge.

PRE-REGISTER TODAY

CLUB are currently offering 20,000 Founding Club spots to their earliest supporters, which include Founding Club in-game status, limited edition kits, badges and much more. Once they’re gone, they’re gone!

      - Using WC this week
      - BB DGW26
      - Take -4 BGW27 to play 11
      - Possibly use FH BGW30 but will see if I can manage without
      - Hold other FH possible for DGW36
      - Use TC whenever I see fit

          Sa (Steele)
          TAA Cancelo Tierney Cash Alonso
          Salah Bowen Foden Raphinha Mahrez
          Broja King DCL

Cash, Alonso, Foden, Raphinha, Mahrez, King, DCL and Steele are all moved on. My team wasn't a mess by any means, but there were a good few players I wanted to jump on and I felt now was the time to do it. I think I've been patient with chips and holding as long as you can can always be beneficial but I also want to get the most out of them and I felt this was a good chance to do that. If any DGW fixtures for GW27 are announced before this weeks' deadline (which I think is possible since that seems to be how they've announced all the last few) then it'll be perfect. I have 10 with doubles for DGW26 currently, could have had more but I'm not getting rid of Cancelo, Bowen or Broja and at this stage I think a Villa attacker is better than Raphinha.

I'd probably be inclined to say no since you have 2FT and 7 with doubles for DGW26 and Dalot and Ronaldo for this week as well, you look well set-up.

        1. Nate(U)dog(ie)
          • 5 Years
          3 years, 9 months ago

It certainly could do, I guess what's pushing me towards it now is the possibility of Salah being hauled off early in DGW26 with the EFL final just after the second game. I didn't decide to use WC just to make use of the BB (as I know a lot do that) but it timed out well for me with changes I wanted to make as well as the doubles.

The one issue I'd have with keeping it for GW36 is that it's so late in the season that you could have a lot of rotation then as some teams will have their positions done and dusted, or that because some teams will know they've already gotten the position they want or missed out on it they won't really be going full throttle. It was a bit of an oversight I made last season towards the last 8-10 games, forgetting how much teams facing relegation are desperate for wins and teams that have CL/EL spots wrapped up or that guaranteed safety aren't really fully in it after that point.

I see your point. A WC could set up a great BB that will probably outdo a Salah TC.

              • 5 Years

Yeah. I mean it's still Salah so it could go horribly wrong for me but I guess I feel doing this and captaining Salah may be enough, and then I can maybe do well with TC down the line but similarly with my ideas on the BB above, I need to be careful that I don't waste it on a worse occasion because it's still a great time to use it.

I will roll transfer in GW 25 probably, then get as much players as possible for DGW 26 and use BB.Might use TC in GW 26 if not a lot of DGW players for that GW. Then FH for GW 27. No plans for WC or second FH rightnow. Maybe FH for GW 30 and WC into GW 36. This leaves me though with one chip left still. If my math is correct.

I'm interested to see (both in FPL and actual terms!) how Klopp uses all the attacking options at his disposal.

Do we think (know?) Salah gets a full run-out tonight? Even though Salah's played more over the last few weeks than the average PL player (right?), I reckon Diaz will have the more gentle (re)introduction. So wouldn't be surprised to see Salah straight back in the XI this eve. Equally unsurprised if Klopp figures he can rest him, especially with Jota performing well in AFCON absences.

In terms of FPL, I've currently got Jota and looking for a way to get Salah back in: will either move out Jota or Bilva, with no other attacking LIB or MCI players and likely to remain that way.

As a Liverpool fan, I can imagine Salah playing 60' tonight. Jota is probably nailed for a couple more weeks as Mané, Díaz, Salah share minutes.

In the medium term, I think Salah plays 90' every week and the others rotate. All it takes is one injury and it's four players for three spots, everyone playing often

Going to roll the FT this week then I'm eyeing up a -4 to get Salah and two other doublers in. £0.1 ITB. What is the best option out of the below?:

    A) Bruno + Ronaldo + Antonio -> Salah + Kane + Weghorst
    B) Bruno + Ronaldo + Trossard -> Salah + Weghorst + Son
    C) Bruno + Ronaldo + Laporte -> Salah + Kane + White

    Current DGW26 team (6 doublers):

    Ramsdale*
    Trent* - Cancelo - Dier*
    Bruno - Jota* - Bowen - Martinelli*
    Ronaldo - Antonio - King*

    Subs: Sanchez; Laporte; Trossard, Livramento

Are you 100% sure about picking Fernandes instead of Salah?

Yeah, but I can't ignore Kevin v Norwich and it'll be just my luck DDG gets 2x 2pointers.

Wouldn’t captain KDB when he’s at high risk of being benched and you have other good options

On a WC Pogba or Jota

Rest og midfield Bruno, Salah, Bowen and Coutinho

Honestly I wouldn't pick either on WC unless you're moving them out soon after (or basically just having Pogba for the double and getting rid). Firmino fit, Mane back soon and Diaz now there so Jota's minutes will be hard to predict from now on I think. Pogba as a punt might do well, he does have a habit of having these mini-runs where he gets a few returns and then goes quiet for ages so it might time out well

Name 3-4 DGW defenders who do you back to get the most points in next gameweek:

Probably Wolves or Arsenal ones, but in all honesty the ones with a SGW look like they'll outscore most of the DGW'ers anyway.

Arsenal defenders have been killing me this season, all my rivals have them so they'll do very well in the DGW

Hey, all. What have I missed re: GW30? Seeing people suggesting it's a good time to use a FH. Is it a likely week for DGWs?

Have a boiled jacket potato - lump of butter and turn off your phone and pc. And watch 'Sausage party' (2016).
And Know that that boiled spud could have been you.

Terrible but i'm completely in the same boat.

I was livid when West Ham was 0-0 after 65 mins and then bam, (B)owen gets his goal and my frown is turned upside down!

I'm afraid that it kind of is if you really feel totally empty after a bad gameweek in (fantasy) game. You have to treat FPL like a hobby and simply don't take it too seriously (even if you are in multiple money leagues, popular content creator, active in twitter/reddit/forum fantasy football community). First step has to be to invest less and less time into everything connected with FPL. It's not like you have any control over how anyone will perform in real life and how good or bad will they play. It's not up to you or your friends how many points will specific 15 players get. And at the end of the day - it doesn't matter, does it? You have your life outside of FFS, FPL and internet, which is far more important than this. It's about how your week was, not gameweek. If you're healthy, have a regular job, home, partner, family, friends, other hobbies and interests - you're on the right path. I hope bad mood doesn't affect your relationships and friendships too much. We're talking about very addictive game which is free to play, the "only" price is your time. If you're betting and gambling as well, you may be in to deep right now - but don't worry, there's always solution and help available. FPL can easily consume too much of your time, it neglects other stuff, causes mood swing ... but in the end you still see it as something enjoyable and positive. FPL makes thousands of people tense, angry, sad, annoyed, agressive, but also happy, excited, ecstatic, joyful, satisfied. Try and play it for fun, for love of football and because you like to follow Premier League and your club. But it might be good to take a step back and focus on other things, if it feels like it’s getting too much. Disconnect for awhile and take care of your mental health.
