FPL

Guess the FPL prices for 2022/23 and win Fantasy Football Scout Membership

We’re already a few days into June so, if previous seasons are anything to go by, we won’t have to wait too long for Fantasy Premier League (FPL) to relaunch for the 2022/23 campaign.

New FPL player prices are always keenly anticipated, no more so than this year.

Will there be a new John Lundstram in the £4.0m bracket? What price will Erling Haaland be listed at upon his move to Manchester City? Will Trent Alexander-Arnold start at £8.0m? And how on earth are we going to afford all of the premium picks we covet?

Fantasy Football Scout regulars TopMarx and circusmonkey have got price predictions on the brain, too, and have put together a little pre-season competition.

They’ve listed 20 players who are either expected to rise in starting price (eg Reece James, Jarrod Bowen), fall in price (Bruno Fernandes) or are new/returning entrants to the Premier League (Aleksandar Mitrovic, Haaland).

All you have to do is guess the starting price for each of them via this form here.

And it’s not just for ‘fun’, either.

We’re offering a full-year Fantasy Football Scout Premium Membership to the entrant with the most correct guesses, with monthly Premium Memberships going to those in second and third.

Any ties will be settled by randomised draws.

Get your entries in by 23:59 on Sunday 12 June (we’ll bring forward the deadline if price reveals are leaked any sooner) and we’ll announce the winners in the days after FPL relaunches for 2022/23.

Just seen some interesting stats on Kalvin Phillips to back up my point from the other day about how important he is for us. In PL since 20/21:

        Win % without Kalvin = 26.7%
        Win % when he starts = 41.3%

Goals conceded per game without Kalvin = 2.4
Goals conceded per game when he starts = 1.3

I'd like to say yes but he isn't really. Rodgers will play as he sees fit, although I suspect Bertrand is effectively finished. I'll find out more from people you who know more than I do (not difficult) before the season starts.

Agree with majority of those. I’m not saying you’re wrong on this but it feels crazy to me that Haaland could come in as the focal point of Man City’s attack and be only 0.5 more than Bruno Fernandes, a player who last season was pretty abject for a for an abject team.

Very similar Borat (without seeing yours first)

I put Son at 11.5 as he will be a forward i think, Callum and Chilwell haven't played. I think Roberson (who wasn't in that list will be 1.0m less so i will go for him this year)

Salah will be too much this year for me i think with Diaz/Haaland price and full-back increases

Arsenal fans were sold a lie when moving to the Emirates stadium. The move was supposed to cement our place at the top of European football.

Every transfer window were late at making moves, missing out on players over a few million quid.

We’re now showing less ambition of teams like Newcastle, Aston Villa and even Spurs.

City, Chelsea, Liverpool and United are constantly outspending us.

Ten years ago we were tempting Suarez away from Liverpool, now Liverpool are eyeing up our players. Miles behind them now.

    Sign some f****** players

Aubameyang scored 13 goals in 18 starts for Barcelona. So the first place you need to look is your manager, who is so set on having everything his own way that he got rid of players Arsenal needed in January simply because he couldn't manage them or they didn't show him enough deference.

An AVB in disguise is what you have there.

The forecast didn't turn out as expected. Why?

      1) Global financial crisis in 2008
      2) Rise of Liverpool and Chelsea
      3) Man City being taken over

Effectively, the financial circumstances that were predicted (competition staying similar in their financial resources and economy continuing to boom) didn't come to pass.

Not aided by keeping hold of Wenger for 6/7 seasons too long, who was a revolutionary, but by 2013ish had been overtaken in his thinking by the new breed of managers.

The only way forward is to build for the future and hope all the bets pay off. For what it is worth, I think Arsenal have a good first XI, but need to get rid of Xhaka, Pepe and Lacazette. I would be looking at a first XI of:

      Ramsdale
      Tomiyasu White Gabriel Tierney
      Lokonga Partey
      Smith-Rowe Odegaard Saka
      Martinelli

The move was necessary, Higbury had a small capacity compared to other top clubs at the time + it would help improve the revenue at the club so emirates was necessary.

Edu & Arteta gotta go. Arsenal would need a better manager & technical director imo if they are to challenge for the league/ CL spot
