FPL 2012/13 Is Now Open

And we’re off….Having released the Player Price List earlier on this week, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game is now officially up and running for the 2012/13 campaign, allowing us to tinker with our teams ahead of the big kick-off on Saturday August 18:

In conjunction with Tuesday’s revelation, our coverage of the player valuations continues to pick up pace. Having rolled out our analysis of the Goalkeepers and Defenders, we followed that up with a look at the Midfielders earlier this afternoon – no prizes for guessing the Forwards are on tomorrow’s agenda.

For now, though, let’s not waste any further time – our patience has been tested enough. Head off to the official site and get your team registered for the new season, folks, and let the planning begin.

            I think so..As I found out The 4 weeks before 2nd wildcard when I won't play De Gea is Week 5,7,9 and 16 and I think reading plays Swansea and West ham sort of teams those week..

            U would playing DDG 90% of the time anyway

      I followed him very closely last season with Rayo Vallecano..played CAM and
      was everywhere for them..huge FPL potential

      One downside is that,he never was a great goal-scorer before last season but at 2.5m,
      this transfer can never go wrong.

      Definitely will bring him in.

        Exactly. Should take out Terry and get Torres in for the DGW and then swap him for Rooney, although Adebayor has a much more easier fixtures if you look at it.

      Not at all. Jussi will rarely play, Mc is part of a rotation system and Noble looks a potential bargain.

      Don't forget: get you clarets in parallel for colour coordination!

      Not at all. McCartney will probably be your last resort most of the time. Same with Jaaskelainen when your main keeper has a tough fixture. Noble is a good pick too for set pieces. 🙂

    For anyone who doesn’t know much about Reading, this was Reading’s Back Four for most of last season:

    Cummings - RB, Gorkss - CB, Pearce - CB, Harte - LB

    These are Reading’s new defensive signings:

    Adrian Mariappa - CB
    “Significant fee”
    Watford Player of the season 11-12 and was linked with a few Premier league clubs

    Chris Gunter - RB
    £2.5m signing
    Wales International

    Nicky Shorey – LB
    Free Transfer

    Considerations:
    Pearce was their Player of the season.
    Ian Harte’s age and the demands of the Premier league.

    Potential new Reading Back Four:

    Gunter - RB, Mariappa - CB, Pearce - CB, Shorey - LB

    Shorey and Pearce sit at £4.5m
