FPL 2012/13 Is Now Open

And we’re off….Having released the Player Price List earlier on this week, the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game is now officially up and running for the 2012/13 campaign, allowing us to tinker with our teams ahead of the big kick-off on Saturday August 18:

In conjunction with Tuesday’s revelation, our coverage of the player valuations continues to pick up pace. Having rolled out our analysis of the Goalkeepers and Defenders, we followed that up with a look at the Midfielders earlier this afternoon – no prizes for guessing the Forwards are on tomorrow’s agenda.

For now, though, let’s not waste any further time – our patience has been tested enough. Head off to the official site and get your team registered for the new season, folks, and let the planning begin.

        Jelavic 100% better bet. I don't think Naismith will be guaranteed much game time and when he does it will be out wide IMO.

      As a Rangers fan, absolutely!

      Shame he's a forward though, most people won't pick him ahead of Jelavic and can't see many people going for 2 Everton strikers.

      If Baines can get plenty of balls in the box this year I'll be doubling up on Everton a lot.

            yeah its tough im biased. I think Podolski's gotta be my main look though. hes gonna be eager to prove himself. RVP is gone i think. and no1 will pick up Arsenal defense until proven. Walcott maybe but without RVP who finished 80% of his assists?

              Don't you expect Podolski to play on the wing and Giroud as striker (it won't be the other way round). If you were going to gamble on us, wouldn't it be Giroud?

    So here's my thinking

    Fedrici - Al-Habsi

    A.Cole - Ivanovic - Fabio - Williams - Dunne

    Yaya - Nolan - Noble - Maloney - McAnuff

    Torres - Rooney - Aguero

    makes the captain options relatively simple from the beginning, save the transfer GW 1 and ship out two of them from GW3 so I can sort out my heavy attack if necessary then, also gives me 5 DGWers WK1.

      doubling up on west ham mid? then wigan and reading mids in addition.

      Very weak unfortunately in midfield. Great strike force but leads to very unbalanced team

        Yeah I didn't overly like the doubling up on West Ham mid but struggling to find any other 6m mid than appeals to me.

        Although the midfield is pretty light I'm happy with it at the moment... looks to be way too much rotation in the midfield from the bigger clubs for me to really want to spend there.

    Does anyone remember if goals against are accrued over a DGW for defenders? So if Reading get scored on once in each DGW game, do defenders lose -1 for 2 goals against?

        I've had feedbacks last page on my draft that my mid is risky. One's an untried and the other currently doubtful but reckon Bale will be fine by then. Plus, Mata is away and this opens up the opportunity for Hazard to start.

      I might think about Valencia/Kagawa/A.Young for Silva since you already have Aguero. I might also think about Adebayor (if a move to TOT is confirmed) instead of Torres since you have Hazard.

      to me its either a 6.5 (walker, BAE, etc.) or a 5MM (Simpson, ShawX) sort of player...who are just as liable to get cleanies but are nailed on thier respective sides as most of the 6 class but save you extra $$$.
