Our regular look at the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) set-piece takers details which players are on penalties, corner-kicks and free-kicks at their respective clubs.

Our Set-Piece Takers tab rounds up our estimated pecking order at any given time but these shorter-term recaps look at what’s happened in the Gameweek just gone.

A not insignificant 21.8% of all goals scored in the Premier League last season came from set plays, with penalties responsible for a further 7.8%.

Based on the data collection in our Premium Members Area, here is a breakdown from the latest round of matches (Liverpool and Manchester United will be added after tonight’s match).

GAMEWEEK 3: KEY OBSERVATIONS AND NOTEWORTHY CHANGES

  • With the season settling down, set-piece pecking orders are starting to become apparent and there were few notable changes on the corner/indirect free-kick front from Gameweek 2.
  • New signings and budget assets Neco Williams (£4.0m), Andreas Pereira (£4.5m) and Marcus Tavernier (£5.0m) have added direct free-kick responsibility on top of their duties from corners and indirect free-kicks, each registering an effort in Gameweek 3.
  • Kieran Trippier (£5.0m) has now scored with three of the four direct free-kicks he has taken for Newcastle United.
  • Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m) was again on penalty-taking duties for Crystal Palace but this was his third miss in six attempts from 12 yards.
  • Alexis Mac Allister (£5.5m) has now taken Brighton and Hove Albion’s last three penalties, scoring the most-recent two attempts. Pascal Gross (£5.7m) was on the field for Mac Allister’s spot-kick in Gameweek 3.

There some MU fans saying that the goal of the protests tonight are to postpone/cancel the match and others say that it will be as civil as possible and "just" be a protest.

Ofc the bigger goal is to get Glazer out. But just saying from what I've read online.

I hate the Glazers as much as anyone (well not as much as United fans!), but I'd love them to come out now and say they're ready to sign cheques for $300 million tomorrow to get De Jong, Anthony and Gakpo, but if the fans embarrass the club then f*** it, let them burn their club to the ground.

Signing players won't solve the other issues that the fans have against them though. There's a lot that I can't really be bothered to write now cause I'm at work.

No, it would get them through this season. Yeh I know the only real way for United to move forward is for them to go, but I don't think this is an effective means. Anyway, this is not the forum to dissect this in detail, so let's move on and just hope the game is completed.

    Rough.

I avoided the simple move of Darwin > Toney (8) for free

Instead, I transferred the funds to midfield, selling Andreas (8) for Foden (2) for a hit. And used the remaining funds to sell Trippier (6) for James (1) for another hit

So my transfers lost me 21 points already vs the alternative FT for Toney (given that I would have benched Andreas).

Wait and see. You could be stuck with him but an easy switch to Marti if you don't own...

Most people are doing Haaland > Toney

    Good move?

Depends what you do with the money but I certainly won’t be selling Haaland

Id only do that move on a WC if you can switch the funds to another premium.
Otherwise get Toney in along side Haaland.

Not right now but when CL begins, I would not keep.

He is a not a very good cap option.

How do you figure that one out?

      Toney transfers in = 180k

      Transfers out =

      Darwin 133k
      Greenwood 55k
      Mitrovic 40k
      Taylor 37k
      Haaland 32k
      Vardy 29k
      Kane 27k
      Etc

So Haaland sold by 5.6% of owners so far, not all will be to Toney

        Other transfers in =

        Jesus 91k
        Mitrovic 75k
        Kane 36k
        Stansfield 35k
        Watkins 19k
        Etc

In any case, I'm not interested in that move, and I think the vast, vast majority of Haaland owners also aren't/won't be

To be fair, most other people would say "everyone" 😉

You know a post is going to be nonsense when it starts like that.

    SV at £101.4.

Happy with that - but I did WC early.

Should tonight's game be postponed, when will we know?

After Salah gets 2 goals 2 assists

This raises an important question that hasn't been addressed. What would happen next? There will simply be no day in the schedule before the World Cup to replay it - UNLESS, and this is my proposal, it is played behind closed doors at a neutral venue on Wednesday. That would be still during this gameweek.

True, but I doubt that will be the case. I can't decide if I would mind a postponement as I have 15 points on the bench. Have TAA, Robbo, Salah (not captain) to play. I guess if Robbo can return I want the game to be played...
