Premier League football is back! And with seven of the original ten Gameweek 8 matches set to go ahead, there is another free chance to use your Fantasy expertise in order to win £10,000.

We’ve got the free-to-play weekly Fantasy5 game to thank for the whopping jackpot but there are also various other prizes on offer, too: copies of FIFA 23 and an Apple watch are up for grabs in September, for example.

You can even set up a mini-league and compete with colleagues, friends and family. To join the Fantasy Football Scout league, simply click here.

Win £10,000 for free with Fantasy5 by picking the best players for Gameweek 1 3

HOW TO PLAY

It’s as simple as this: pick five players from the nominated Gameweek 8 matches below and, if they all exceed their ‘points targets’ (a par score set by Fantasy5 for each asset), you’ll be in the money:

Even if you don’t succeed in getting all five right, Fantasy5’s leaderboard allows you to win prizes beyond the £10k jackpot.

We have selected our own picks for Gameweek 8, which can you can read below.

The deadline for this week’s entries is at 12:30 BST on Saturday 17 September.

SCOUT’S GAMEWEEK 8 PICKS

Seven players defeated their points target during Gameweek 6, although none chosen by us.

In fact, all five of the selected matches had some success, thanks to names like Marcus Rashford, Ivan Toney and Ben Chilwell.

Two of our picks scored goals – Luis Sinisterra (6.5) and Bukayo Saka (7.5) – but it wasn’t quite enough to overcome their assigned numbers.

The use of reverse logic is quite common for Fantasy players, whereby things don’t happen when you expect, only to then take place when you don’t. Pedro Neto (5.5) was in over 1.4 million FPL squads to start the season but is yet to register an attacking return from six nice-looking fixtures. So clearly he’ll score on Saturday against Man City!

Big-money signings Alexander Isak (6.5) and Lucas Paqueta (6.5) have both been looked at in recent Scout Report articles and are backed to overcome their points targets at the weekend.

The former needs multiple returns to succeed but is at home to Bournemouth, whilst the latter is priced lower than West Ham teammates Jarrod Bowen (7.5), Pablo Fornals (7.5) and Said Benrahma (7.5). Paqueta’s two full Lyon campaigns both brought nine league goals, so he knows what to do.

Elsewhere, James Maddison (6.5) scored twice in his first three outings but blanked during the last two. The last three meetings between Leicester and Spurs have resulted in 15 goals, so a similarly open game should see Maddison involved.

It’s tougher to pick a name from Brentford v Arsenal, as Gabriel Jesus (8.5), Bukayo Saka (8.5) and Gabriel Martinelli (7.5) have tricky targets. Therefore, centre-back Gabriel (6.5) is backed to bag another attacking return.

HOW DOES FANTASY5 WORK?

Win £10,000 for free with Fantasy5 – pick the best players for Gameweek 6 1

Fantasy5 is easy to play as it follows the exact same scoring system as FPL, just without the bonus points.

It’s also the fastest media outlet for live Fantasy points, displaying all player points from the five games in question, as well as the live score and time.

For the more detailed lowdown, head here.

The competition is limited to one entry per person per round and selections must be submitted before kick-off of the first eligible match.

If two or more entrants correctly select five players who all score more than their points target, then the prize pot is split among all winners.

Million dollar question. That's why I'm avoiding Perisic as a long term pick. But for a 1 week punt he's probably worth going for

    On WC
    A) N.Williams+Saka nothing in bank. Would have to play WIlliams this week
    B) Perisic+Bailey(mostly on bench but playing this week), 1,7 m itb so easy to get Salah right away(not against keeping KDB 3-4 weeks)

If A then switch to Zaha in 2 weeks, have 5 from MCI and ARS this way so could be stuck if other issues. Its basically Saka vs Perisic but also the cash issue.

I think you need to decide on whether to get Salah next week or wait until gw12 and follow through with the decision? Given Liverpool's next game is GW9 then it's not like you have anymore games to judge Salah/Liverpool on.

I'd lean towards A as really like Zaha, even for GW9 onwards

Thoughts please on what to do here, 1FT £2.4 ITB:

    Sanchez [out]
    Cancelo Trips Neco Gabriel
    DaSilva Murphy Diaz [out]
    Kane Jesus Haaland

    Subs all out.

    Do I:
    1. Roll with it as is
    2. Spend the FT just to bring in a keeper - seems like a waste as likely to have to bring in again for another FT?
    3. Focus on Diaz to someone else - Kulu?

Some WC thoughts for anyone that has pressed the button:

Starting to think that the best way to sort out the WC is by choosing one from city (Haaland/KDB) and one from spurs (Kane/Son). I'll always be capping haaland over kevin so dont see much point in owning him - in gw 9 (MUN) and 11 (liv) I wouldn't fancy capping a city player anyway.

Therefore I think it's best to go with 1 from city and 1 from spurs if you're going without mo, and I think the best combo is Kane and Haaland. Have been thinking about a threemium but dont think I see the value

In fairness, and no disrespect coz Lateriser is a legend - but his team and article, including the graphics leave so much up in the air, he'll always be able to say he got it right.

The critical questions - 2 or 3 premiums, fixture or form, how long ahead do you pick a WC team for - are not being answered.

Definitely. He's nailed on to start that game and I can see him overwhelming the United defence.
Can't see any issue tripling on City - a totally different gravy to the rest of the league.

Haaland will most likely always be our (c) choice. After that it’s picking players who you think will score you the most points. KDB/Salah/Kane are premium value but we are mostly more confident they will outscore Foden/Son/Kulu/Díaz etc. I do like Diaz as a Salah alternative but the rest I just don’t see matching the premium players mentioned.

Can't discount captaincy completely. Kane in GW8 & GW11 is a nice option and obviously GW12 we'll not be on Haaland with Salah likely clear favourite

        depends

lets say you spend two spots on KDB and a 4.5m player, thats ~16.5m. the 4.5m player is getting benched every week and kevin never gets capped over haaland

16.5m could be spent on two 8m players like maddison and bowen. neither gets benched and they got a combined 380 pts last yr

Hearing lots of chat from those on WC about keeping cash in the bank so you "have the option" to get Salah back for gw9. Liverpool don't have another game until gw9 so you can make a decision on that now. Either plan to get him in gw9 or wait until 12 and stick with it

    1. House Frey Wedding Planner
      • 7 Years

Yeah holding that much in the bank for 4 weeks to get Salah back in gw12 is silly. Who knows maybe by then Darwin becomes a better option than Salah

        • 13 Years

I'm happy with my WC squad and with the 2m itb. It gives me options to get Salah, TAA, Zaha and which of my squad to move out. Having no money itb restricts you to selling an asset that's performing well or going without your chosen pick.

I'm picking players on a WC for 4 weeks and then reassessing. Will stick with the plan unless there's injuries/suspensions obviously. Keeping 2m in the bank does give you options and you could pre plan transfers but I don't see what those guys will do before GW9 which will change your view on them right now

    Mitro / Haaland / Kane

Look good, similar to what I'm looking at. Does Emerson keep his place? I'd look for someone with a good gw12 fixture so you have decent cover that week

Out of interest - this question has been asked about this exact same team about 50 times in the past few hours right?

And the answer has largely been exactly the same.

Why are you asking it again?

      Just curious, that's all.

So when I have 20mins to come on here I should spend it going back and reading previous pages?

I'm not telling you how to use the forum.

I do read it. It's where the magic is.

I'm just surprised at how little people seem to take notice of the content that's being generated by the members.

No disrespect to any of the experts, but the collective has some amazing ideas (and some really bad ones too).

When do you plan to WC? Short term KDB and Gordon/ASM might be good

I dont want any of my players up against Real Madrid, and there's plenty of other enablers out there. May consider for MD5-6

    It’s down to the decision:

    A. KdB Isak and 2 out of Zaha/Bowen/Maddi
    Or
    B. Kane and all 3 of Zaha Bowen and Maddi

    Which option do you prefer?.

I'm going for B as I plan to captain Kane in 8 and 11 before switching back to Salah in 12

So I’m set on Archer>Kane (c) so to make that happen:

    A. Salah + Walker >Foden + Emerson -4 (need the City spot)
    B. Salah >Maddison

    Cheers for help
