  • West Ham v Newcastle (Wednesday 5 April)

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 29 FIXTURES

  • Leeds: ars + NFO

DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 29 REACTION

FPL review: Maddison's elite numbers, Spurs' injury woes 1

We now have confirmation of Double Gameweek 29 and it’s a big one as expected, with 12 teams set to play twice.

Away matches for Liverpool against Man City and Chelsea are far from straightforward, but more appealing doubles await Leicester and Nott’m Forest.

And what about Brighton and Brentford, who could now potentially face two ‘doubles’ and two ‘blanks’ in the next five rounds?

What all of this does mean, however, is that chip planning will become more important than ever in the coming days and weeks, with Free Hit deployment set to pick up in Blank Gameweek 28 and Double Gameweek 29, depending on your strategy.

For a rundown of the latest Blank Gameweek 28 permutations, see below.

Hmm I currently have 6 doublers for GW29 after I sell Dalot this week. Going to be a tough one to navigate with the blank right before it

Just saw how poor Kane's stats have been in the last couple of games, can see a lot selling him a lot earlier than GW29 if it continues

Not sure what you were expecting them to announce as there currently aren’t any Spurs games outstanding at the moment that are waiting for new dates.

Oh yeah, so its just GW28 Southampton (A) that was predicted as having 40% chance of happening in 29 then I guess. So could maybe be further additions after FA Cup games have been played?

Yep and I guess that could yet be added to GW29 if their GW28 game gets postponed if one of the teams win their last 16 FAC tie. Note there is an IB after GW28 so plenty of time to add it.

Hmm, strange to change stance since it couldn't possibly be announced. Maybe just down to the timing of the announcement, who knows? Keen to figure this out though because blank & no double might make Kane a sell for me (in which case I might be more tempted to take a Darwin punt this week)

Everton v Spurs is on TV on the Monday and Spurs then play again on the Sat so yes I would have thought very unlikely too.

Have all 4 (along with Rash, Trips, Saka and Odegaard) - got two 3.9 defenders which is a headache though and will soon move out one of Salah or Kane to upgrade these for dgw 27 and 29

Keeping Trippier, Schär, Moreno, Saka, Ødegaard, maybe Nketiah. Will get 1-2 Chelsea last min if improving. That seems alright for now considering its only 5 fixtures so I'm not necessarily aiming to field 11.

nice, i already have 7 doublers, definitely want Maddison too, the Forest double looks the best on paper so will probably get someone from them especially because they have a fixture in gw 28 too, plus 3 Arsenal at home to Leeds to give me a benching headache lol

    Newcastle v Brighton

That is the only outstanding fixture I believe that still needs rescheduling and it can’t go into GW29 as both teams already have doubles.

There will be more blanks created from the FA Cup QF in GW28 & SF in GW32 but for now there is just 1 outstanding game still to be added.

Should also add that the reason Man City can’t double in GW29 is because even if their fixture in GW28 vs WHU becomes a blank then WHU already now have a double in GW29.

Soton vs Spurs however could still be added to GW29 if it needs to be rescheduled because one or both of them reach the FAC last 8 that coincides with GW28.

FH29 looks pretty good to me - but how bad is BGW32 looking? Some iffy blanks in there too?

WC27 means you can't take as good of an advantage into going into GW29, and that you're unlikely to be able to build a good DGW34 (BB-able) team - especially as since some other doubles scattered before potentially.

    1. Hy liverpool
      • 12 Years

It's more about gw 30,31 onwards with WC and i don't see a good runs for teams that have lovely DGW29, on other hand liverpool/city have awful gw29 fixtures on paper... Leaning towards FH29 but that may change.

For me will all come down to whether I want more GW29 doublers or GW32 non-blankers in my plan for last 10 weeks.

Fulham play Leeds at home in FA Cup last 16, they can’t both win.

GW28 coincides with last 8 of FA Cup

If Fulham beat Leeds then Liverpool v Fulham will be postponed but Wolves v Leeds will go ahead.

If Leeds beat Fulham then Wolves v Leeds will be postponed but Liverpool v Fulham will go ahead.

We won’t know the outcome of this until the end of GW25 when the FA Cup ties take place.

My current team in GW 25 for GW 28 without any transfers done:

    Keppa
    Trent* Trippier Botman Tarkowski White
    Ødegaard Salah*
    Felix Nketiah

8 players with possible 2 from Liverpool looks good. Nketiah playtime a doubt, but I can solve that before GW29.

For me it looks like I'll bring this team into GW25:

    Kepa*
    James* White* Tarkowski* Bueno
    Salah Saka* Andreas
    Haaland Kane Nketiah*
    Ward // Rashford Mitoma Trippier*

    7 starred (*) players play GW28 & only 1 of Bueno/Andreas will play, so that's 8.

    GW26: Nketiah > Felix/Toney (8)
    GW27: ??
    GW28: Kane > Watkins (9)

Seriviable without even hits. Need to know what is happening with FUL/WOL/LIV for more clarity.

Leeds beating Fulham in the cup would solve a lot of problems.

On one hand, it means those punting heavily on Liverpool this week would be bailed out, which I might not fancy on balance of it. But on the other hand it'd make it easier - I cold then move Bueno to Schar; keep Andreas. Sorted. Don't thin it hurts my plan not to invest heavily on Liverpool. Fulham are vey capable of scoring and have defended very well of late.

The funny thing will be those who don't care about BGW's and attack doubles and immediate fixtures will be the ones who do well. BGW's are a myth and rarely have any impact as huge as doubles and single gw's. My take. 😉

This is actually kind of true.

This is a perfect BB opportunity spoilt by the BGW in 28

What would your ideal BB team for 29 look like?
