Which combination of players is better??

    1. TAA + Mbeumo + Mitoma + Son + Nkunku
    2. Shaw + Luis Diaz + Foden + Odegaard + Gakpo

What do you think guys? Too many punts? Too much money in midfield?

    Leno
    Shaw Estu Ake
    Rashford Son Saka Bruno Martinelli
    Haaland DCL
    (4.0 Henry Beyer Archer)

        1. WVA
          • 9 Years

The manager was quoted saying Anderson can play in Bells position on here somewhere

          1. Piggs Boson
            • 14 Years
            2 years, 5 months ago

Yep, I read that. But I assume Anderson's primary role is to the replace the CB they lost. And a secondary benefit is adding more depth to the LCB spot.

Still don't know for sure which is nailed. And in the case that they are both nailed, I wanted to know which one was the better option.

Neale's the guru on these things. Might be too early to say before pre-season though...

5 midfielders is the way to go this year with no players from 5.5 to 4.5
4-5-1 too risky only with Haaland up front
So it very likely to be 3-5-2

    1. One Man
      • 9 Years
      2 years, 5 months ago

I’m going to interchange it, from 442 to 352.

    2. Bobby Digital

I'm going 442 atm. Brownhill is my 5th midfielder and my first sub.

I'm not sure about 4-5-1 being too risky. There are a lot of potentially excellent defensive options so a good 4 or 5 at the back is possible. I'm 4-4-2 at the moment and envisage flipping between 4-4-2, 3-5-2, and 4-5-1 if this stays my starting draft.

At some point I'm going to see if I can make a decent looking threemium team and look to go 4-3-3, 3-4-3, or even 5-2-3

      1. Andy_Social
        • 13 Years

If Haaland is injured, you sell him for literally any forward in the game, then buy him back for the same price. His price can't rise if everybody already owns him.

The risk with 4-5-1 is that if your one forward gets injured and your other two forwards don't play then your team will be one short.

343 1st week then can change to 442 depending on my 4.5 defs games
451 i was tempted by, but means Wissa will be on bench most games.
Taking out my other 7.5m striker means i can upgrade my 5m mid to say Foden - and id sooner have another striker

    5. Conners
      • 7 Years
      2 years, 5 months ago

I see little or no risk in playing a 4-5-1 formation to start with.

Haaland played 35 games last season and will probably not be rested until Xmas schedule or CL knockout stages.

If he gets injured, then c'est la vie, just swap him for Kane of whoever.

      1. Jackie Moon
        • 7 Years
        2 years, 5 months ago

Doing a bit of delayed scrolling through and noticed a few people here saying there is no risk in playing 451.

I have to respectfully disagree. It’s not just about whether Haaland plays, but also the fact you will only have 1 playing sub in total, therefore it surely is a risk. Maybe not as much of a risk as having 1 striker who is a rotation risk, but still a risk to consider.

Just my 2 cents for what it’s worth. Cheers

There's no way I can squeeze another 0.5 out of this to upgrade Mart to Saka is there?

    Pickford (Balcombe)
    Botman / Estu / Gabriel (Bell/Beyer)

    DCL / Haaland / Jesus

Maybe take a punt one of the forwards from the promoted sides at 5.5m if you want to keep the same structure? If you're planning to rotate with Enciso it'd be better to have some nailed and more reliable fitness-wise than DCL anyway..?

Really like the look of this team
Will probably start with Jesus + Foden over Darwin/Gakpo + Sterling

    Darwin, Haaland

    Areola, Botman, Beyer, Semenyo

My guess at Spurs starting XI assuming Kane and Hojbjerg leave is....

        Son - Richarlison - Kulu
        Maddison - Bissouma - Ndombele
        Udogie - Romero - Dier - Porro
        - Vicario -

        Mid-table side.

That would translate to roughly 80 points on FPL which is 50 more than the currently top £4.5m mid.

PDM had the misfortune to get hacked last season, and as a result he has had to reboot his mini-league.
So teams that were in Top 1k ANY season last year will not be automatically entered in it this time, and will have to enter again.
The league's name has been changed to Top 1000 ANY season, and the league code is oymggk.

      My bench: GK 4.0; 4.0, 4.0, 4.5

Unless someone gets injured, should be fine until the early season dust settles.

(subject to change, as preseason info comes in)

4.0 defenders should provide fair cover
        Who is your 4.5 forward?

Hard to pass on the quality 4.5 defenders though

Botman would make my bench look nicer. I don't want to downgrade a starter for him, though.

Don't really fancy rotating 4.5s. Would rather my 3 starters be as good as I can get.

Henry, Botman, Cash have been considered, in initial drafts.

Is he definitely a starter? I remember him coming in for an injury last season

Not too sure since they signed Collins. Henry/Hickey probably safer

Was on Pepple (liked the name). Currently Archer, on hearing he might get some mins and did well out on loan. Keeping an eye on Balogun - could be gold, if he gets loaned (apparently Hammers sniffing about).

There's another theory, you should pick the least owned one. So, you don't lose value if they're transferred out for a bandwagon player. Realistically, a 4.5 fwd should be 3rd sub and irrelevant.

Is Simms still in the game? The best 4.5 by a mile as all the others will likely fall in price while sitting on your benches.

I think Woodrow gets lots of minutes off the bench personally. Promising words from the manager: https://www.lutontown.co.uk/news/2023/july/cauley-woodrow-contract/

Could be popular with those who are aiming for the wooden spoon by making 20 transfers and hoping to score zero points each week.

Finally after countless iterations, I think I’ve landed on a team which I’m happy about. One which allows me to seamlessly toggle between 4-5-1, 4-4-2 and 3-5-2 depending on fixtures.

    RMT!!

    Fabianski (Areola)
    James, TAA, Saliba, Porro (Bell)
Gibbs White, Bruno, Rashy, Saka, Martinelli
    Haaland (Morris, Surridge)

The main problem with 4-5-1 is that you can't bring other stiker in first few weeks even if he is amazing (Jesus, DCL, Watkins....)

Disappointing to see a link from The Sun in this article.

Like most Liverpool fans, I would prefer to see The Scum omitted from all scout articles, please.

That front page will never be forgotten.

Not sure if you're unaware and just making a memory joke. Assume they're referring to 'The Truth' (about Hillsborough)

It's a horrible, horrible rag. For many reasons. If you look back at their front pages over the last few decades, it shows how much of a poisonous influence it is on this country. That one in particular, is The sun in a nutshell.

Yep, that's the one. The "Truth".

I saw it pop up again on Twitter with The Sun being in the news recently. Those 3 bullet points are unforgivable.

        Nice one, mate.

Round our way it's still boycotted to this day.

One of my earliest childhood memories is my friend's nan refusing to have The Sun in her kitchen. It really stuck with me.

What do you think about this team?

    Fabianaski, Areola
    Shaw, TAA, Estu, Zhincenko, Ake
    Saka, Rash, Mbueno, Enciso, Mitoma
    Haaland, Jesus, 4.5

By the way, this is the squad of FPLGunz, guy who was # ONE last year!

      Keeper has awful fixtures

Otherwise it’s fair but could argue that Jesus is a painful player to have - minutes to be shared with havertz? Rather have ode and saka

Also city double up surely has to be in attack?
