When recently introducing the free-to-enter Premier League Fantasy game offered by bet365, we covered its prizes (both monthly and over the season), the rules and how to score points.

It’s a very similar game to Fantasy Premier League (FPL) with just a few alterations.

The Wildcard is the only chip, Gameweek deadlines go right up to its first kick-off, and bonus points are replaced by rewards for shots on target and team impact. Additionally, with the amount of stoppage time set to increase, midfielders and forwards will receive an extra point for completing a match.

This contest has a guaranteed prize pool of £500,000 to reward managers finishing in the top 10k. So let’s draft a free bet365 squad and get started!

free squad bet365

To take part, all you need to do is register a bet365 account.

Exclusive to bet365 users, entries are strictly limited to one per customer, meaning there are no annoying duplicate teams.

BET365: DRAFTING A FREE SQUAD

Last time, we noticed that premium assets such as Erling Haaland (£12.5m), Mohamed Salah (£12.0m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.0m) are cheaper than in FPL.

Therefore, seeing as Bukayo Saka (£10.0m) and Bruno Fernandes (£9.5m) are much more expensive, a two-premium team is more feasible.

free squad bet365

In goal, we have a legitimate £4.0m option to go alongside Jordan Pickford (£4.5m) and that’s Luton Town’s Thomas Kaminski. Stoppers are pricier here where, unlike FPL, some go beyond £5.5m.

Forward-thinking defenders Ben Chilwell (£5.5m) and Pervis Estupinan (£5.0m) have a fair starting value. The Brighton and Hove Albion left-back had more penalty area touches (56) than any other defender from Gameweek 20 onwards last season.

Joining them is Arsenal’s William Saliba (£5.5m), as team-mate Gabriel is up to £6.0m. It’s hard to better the Gunners’ early fixture run, so there’s a midfield double-up with Gabriel Martinelli (£8.5m) and Kai Havertz (£8.0m). FPL pricing makes Saka an easy choice but the game-makers here are forcing managers to think a bit more.

Speaking of the template elsewhere, further popular midfielders like Marcus Rashford (£9.5m) and Kaoru Mitoma (£7.5m) also have problems. The latter is £1.0m more expensive here, whilst the Manchester United star is classified as a forward. Consequently, that opens up a gap for Salah and there’s also room for seemingly underpriced Spurs midfielder Dejan Kulusevski (£6.0m).

Up front, Haaland is a no-brainer at that price. Joining both him and Rashford in a 3-4-3 formation is Brentford forward Yoane Wissa (£6.5m).

This squad looks handy for several weeks, which is great in this game because the saving of weekly free transfers is limitless, i.e. it can go beyond two.

Finally, it’s a cheap bench to go with Kaminski. Jordan Beyer (£4.0m) and George Baldock (£4.0m) should regularly start, whilst Ryan Christie (£4.5m) has had a good pre-season for Bournemouth. He notched one goal and two assists from attacking midfield.

The 2006 Veterans League died because the ownership got transferred to a random guy when the Internet lagged. If you were in the original one then here is the new code:

    zfiqvr

Anyone can join if you started playing FPL in 2006/07 and it's reflected in your history.

My other league is the FFS Dead Zone which is for posters who typically post around this time of night through to the early hours. Code to join this league, open to all is:

That's right. Some weird glitch happened as I was removing a guy who wasn't playing since 06/07 from Nigeria, instead the league ownership was transferred and he didn't renew it! That league has been going about 8 years as well.

Minutes. I’d say LFC attacking starters are, in order of certainty: Dalah, Gakpo, Diaz, Jota, Nunez

I think it's Salah, Gakpo, Jota, Diaz.

I'm gonna risk it personally because I believe Jota is the best finisher at Liverpool. When he plays his PPG is outstanding. We have a strong indication he is fit and raring to go and that's all I need to see.

Nope. Can't afford. My team is very template otherwise. Hoping Jota can cover Salah for much less over the first two games. He gets two games and then I might ship him out if he really doesn't look nailed.

I’ve had a Salah in my team since my first draft and I have to say the spread of funds that a switch to Jota enables does make him very appealing.
I started with Diaz last season and that was a big let down, but a fit Jota is different gravy like you say.

I imagine a lot of people are. It's my GK pairing.

Although someone pointed out that Johnstone + Pickford have the exact same first 6 fixtures. So really, the question should be more which defense do you rate more - Everton or Palace?

I can't help feeling we're overlooking Trippier? I appreciate that some are intending drafting him in on WC but think he's worth considering from the get go.

He wasn't just the highest scoring defender in FPL but one of the highest scoring players of the entire game at 198 points. Roughly 50 ahead of TAA. Incredible stuff.

He would have comfortably exceeded 200 points with some marginally better luck/finishing from his teammates - I think Toon had the league high of woodwork strikes (20? I'm not sure)

At 6.5m that's still a steal. I think the difficulty of Newcastle's fixtures are overstated - outside of the City game, Villa and Liverpool at home are not exactly terrifying as well as Sheffield and Brighton away and Brentford and Burnley at home brings us right up to GW8.

Toon prob have the best defensive stats outside of City and Tripps has multiple routes to points outside of clean sheets with baps and assists of course.

He's always only an assist and clean sheet away from a haul. And in 34% of teams that could really hurt a rank...

He played virtually every minute of the league last season and at 32 i reckon Howe realises the best way to keep him fit for Europe is to keep playing him regularly.

Besides, if he's subbed early for a pre-euro rest it's likely to be with a lead in the bag, for which there's a decent chance he had a part.

    Fwiw my team:

    Onana (4.0)
    Gabriel-Tripp-Estup (Colwill-4.0)
    Saka-Rash-Mitoma-Bruno-Odegaard
    Haaland-Wissa (4.0)

0.5m ITB to upgrade Estup e.g to Chill

    Good luck all

He is an excellent option, these are the top 3 in returns/90:

      Trent Alexander-Arnold
      2 goals 11 assists 10 clean sheets (2922 minutes)
23 returns 57% offensive returns 43% defensive returns
      0.708 returns per 90.

      João Cancelo
      2 goals 2 assists 6 clean sheets (1273 minutes)
10 returns 40% offensive returns 60% defensive returns
      0.707 returns per 90.

      Kieran Trippier
      1 goal 9 assists 16 clean sheets (3342 minutes)
26 returns 38% offensive returns 62% defensive returns
      0.700 returns per 90.

      1. Bob B
        • 12 Years
        2 years, 3 months ago

Based on this though, he's getting most of his returns from clean sheets. That's why I think people are put off whilst the fixtures are not kind. His attacking output diminished over the second half of the season, 3 assists since January.

    Onana
    Gabs, Estu, Udogie
    Salah, Mbuemo, Rashford, Saka, Martinelli
    Haaland, Pedro
    (Areola, Mubama, Baldock, Kaboure)

    Thanks!

B is safer, but A has a higher ceiling.

I would go A purely for excitement and higher ceiling

Personally punting for Trossard, but might not be for everyone's taste

Great pick, I've had about 4 drafts, he's been in 1, It's a hard call I can certainly see him hitting the ground running and outscoring the more nailed options like Saka.

how important to have a City defender--particularly Stones?

considering bold move of having Pedro Porro; already have Gabriel, Estupinan, and Chilwell

and who is best 4.0 DF--and why? I know a lot of people have Beyer (would like to have Roberts at 4.5, but Burnley have very tough opening schedule tho); I currently have Bell

I don't think it's essential, they will get CS for sure but do you really want to take rotation risks to your defence? Better to punt on attackers in my opinion.

Kabore and Branthwaite are my picks for 4.0, Baldock is another shout but his ownership is higher so more risky.
If you want someone nailed then go Beyer over Branthwaite, I just like gambling.

I'm set on my team I think, just one decision now.

    Which 2 would you start?

    A) Mbeumo vs Spurs (H)
    B) Pedro vs Luton (H)
    C) Jackson vs Liverpool (H)

B and C simply to avoid uncertainty over Mbeumo fitness

I have .5itb that I was going to keep as a safety net. No benefit in upgrading Gabriel to White?

    Onana
    Shaw, Gabriel, Estupinan
    Rashford, Saka, Odegaard, Mitoma, Eze
    Haaland, Watkins

    Turner, Chillwell, Kabore, Ui-jo .5itb

My final ilemma for the team. Which option is best?
    A. KdB , Eze
    B. Martinelli, Bruno

Have a feeling KdB could become a massive differential. Just worried if he is fit enough.
