Excitement is building for Gameweek 3 of Premier League football and Betway have joined in with a couple of Super Boosts.

On a weekend that begins with Chelsea v Luton Town and is highlighted by Newcastle United v Liverpool, sandwiched in-between are a bunch of intriguing match-ups.

The Saturday Super Boost revolves around three of that day’s attacking midfielders, each of whom has already found the net.

WHAT IS THE GAMEWEEK 3 SUPER BOOST?

If you’re new to the Super Boost, it’s effectively enhanced odds on cherry-picked match events.

A trio of match events, to be exact, so you’ll need all three to come in.

In Gameweek 3, Betway are boosting their odds on the following treble:

  • Bukayo Saka (1+ Shots on Target)
  • Bryan Mbeumo (1+ Shots on Target)
  • Kaoru Mitoma (1+ Shots on Target)

This was originally 2/1 – but Betway are now offering a better 4/1 for all three to come in.

BUKAYO SAKA (1+ SHOTS ON TARGET)

Each has at least one compelling statistic that suggests they’ll test their opposing goalkeeper.

Arsenal attacker Saka may not be on penalty-taking duty anymore but he’s about to face Fulham – the side that has conceded the most shots on target so far (17).

The 21-year-old bagged a goal on the opening day and, even though Gameweek 2 brought none on target, more touches took place inside the penalty area.

BRYAN MBEUMO (1+ SHOTS ON TARGET)

Arsenal and Brentford are about to swap opponents, with Mbeumo contributing to Fulham’s poor defensive stats by recording three on target.

Added to a pair from Gameweek 1, his total of five is bettered by only one other player. However, it should be noted that the Crystal Palace backline has allowed the second-fewest shots on target (four).

The Cameroon international is also the league’s joint-top scorer, although his expected goals (xG) total of 3.26 suggests his three strikes are actually an underachievement!

KAORU MITOMA (1+ SHOTS ON TARGET)

Finally, a key component of the team with the most goals (eight), shots (43) and big chances (11) so far.

Brighton and Hove Albion have been brilliant during consecutive 4-1 wins, with winger Mitoma collecting a goal and two assists.

Gameweek 1 saw little threat but, in the next outing, he made amends by dribbling through half of the Wolverhampton Wanderers team before slotting past Jose Sa.

Right now, he ranks second throughout the league for touches inside the penalty area (22). In theory, this makes him one of the most likely players to have at least one shot on target.

It's based on very little especially with Luton having only played 90 mins so far (and against one of the best attacks around)! But I wasn't impressed with Chelsea v West Ham, didn't carve out many chances when playing against 10 (well none basically). I was impressed with Luton in the few games I saw from them at the end of last season, could be miles off though!

In this country hundreds of people addicted to gambling kill themselves each year, there has to be better ways of making money from this site.

Advertising betting firms is dodgy enough but actually teaming up with them is so morally corrupt.

If you got a large enough sample of fans to predict the scores for the weekend, I wonder how close the average score (not sure which average would be the best measure, obviously would have to round a mean if you averaged the number of goals predicted for each team) would be to an AI prediction. Then further than that, whether the AI or the fans would get closer to the actual results. Just a thought.

    1. Pedersen
      • 7 Years

AI would. Odds making for sport sites have long moved from humans to AI as they are more precise and they earn more that way. Humans only interact to secure no "far off" odds is made by the AI today

I started gambling in the 2012 Olympics, I felt as if I had a chance because the heats didn't necessarily give a true outcome to the final so the favourites would often drop in price and I would get better odds in the final, swimming would you believe I did very well out of because I researched the field (there was a very useful website I found at the time) but I did get one athlete at 12-1 from the heats that had fallen to 3-1 by the final, I continued afterwards on tennis mainly and started well, I was about £2k up at one point and through time this fell to about £1k profit (I was running a spreadsheet of profits/losses), that was the point I stopped because I could see I was starting to lose and I wanted to say I beat the bookies, these days I put the (very) occasional £1 bet on when I feel the odds are worth it and still doing well on this basis.
I rarely bet on football, I found it just too inconsistent

I tend to do yankee/Canadians on horses at longer place odds, then you only need 2/5 or 2/4 for money back. it's still not a good idea but it mitigates losses better if you have 5 horses 10-20/1

They say football has been solved!

Less value in it and accumulators are bookies best friend because each step of the bet has their margin built-in.

I had a good few wins on the horses today, but a few quid each way at 40 or 50/1 adds up... if they win!

Any casino games like slots or roulette, with the house edge means that the only sure thing is the longer that you play the more likely that you are to lose.

So the only way to win on those games is to win early and walk away. Many don't though, because when hooked they want the buzz of gambling, the endorphins. So they lose eventually and chase losses and the big downer is probably more impactful for longer than the initial thrill of a big win.

If you consistently get good at winning on games of probability like poker or horse racing then you'll be limited eventually.

Ultimately the bookies win. Most punters are losers.

Plenty of opportunity to beat the closing lines in football matches which means it's possible to be profitable
Long term football betting markets are relatively softer also

I rarely bet on sports, but a few years ago I made a ladbrokes account and put a few accumulators on, no luck. Second time I tried, I put $10 on an accumulator for every PL game on the weekend (predict winners only). I got 100 to 1 odds on that, and I won!

Honestly, I swear all the results that week were pretty easy to predict, it was like burnley vs liverpool and stuff, I'm surprised I got the odds I did (I may have used some bonus thing to increase the odds possibly).

Match betting used to be all the rage a few years ago, my friends made thousands betting on all outcomes with bookie special offers. it's died a death now. Gambling now, should be like £10 a week for most people for fun. Best not to start though.

Similar to what I do now, about €20 a week, sometimes less if I don't find markets/prices I like. But at the same time those bets that I put on are heaps of small bets, as opposed to bigger ones of €5-€20,most of my bets are around 50c or so

You guys don't appear to understand gambling addiction and the kind of childhood abuse etc that leads people to it. I'm glad that you can call it quits when you want but that isn't an addiction and that isn't the reason people are now calling out this money taking trash from FFS and others in FPL.

Yes. If you have Turner in goal, you can activate the Time Turner chip, ahead back to 1.5 hours ago when the leaks came out and put Gusto into your XI. Just don't ask how to get back to the present. I have eradicated most of that atrocious Harry Potter screenplay from my memory and I don't remember the films after they stopped using John WIlliams' music.

    Shameless betting article once again.

While I get a lot of use out of the predicted line-ups, the opinions and other features of this site, it’s the community here that keeps me coming back. I love the engagement and the interaction with like-minded to get good feedback and provide different opinion.

The bombardment of betting posts is tiresome and I’m fairly sure I speak on behalf of most here, that it’s not at all the content we come here for. Stop pushing your clientele to these betting sites. It’s not a good look.

Just join the rest of us and smugly ignore the adds. We manage it for every other advert everywhere else.

The indignation on here over betting ads is ridiculous. Just ignore them - I’ve never read a single one.

FFS getting absolute pelters on the boards but the irony is that none of the "scouts" will read any of it...

They appear to have a couple of 13 year member warriors leading their vanguard for them though. I wonder perhaps if they have some sort of affiliation...

I'm not a 'Scout' but I run FFS and I read them. We take the gambling stuff seriously and will be posting a more public response soon.

As a percentage of users of the board the whingers are miniscule in number - ignore them.

The main things that irritate people here are:
        - the gambling stuff yes
        - your auto renew function on subscriptions. Auto renewal is such a terrible idea, it makes people and when they see you took £18 or whatever from their account and they didn't know. For some people that's a lot of money. You guys have changed this website a few times in recent years, but I have been caught out by your auto renew feature 3 times I believe.

You guys basically hid the option to disable auto renew in a sneaky way to catch even more people. - Frankly I was disgusted with this at the time and was very close to reporting this place to trading standards.

In regard to the auto renew feature, if you cared, you would at the least send an email one week before to those people and say, your auto renewal will take affect this day/time, click here to opt out. But you don't, because you just want to grab money.

I dont hate this place, but fact is, this websites behavior annoys many people here, and I would say, 90% of users here come for the other users who congregate here, not for what FFS provides. With that in mind, you guys should carefully think about your future, because at some point, this bulk of people here, will up sticks and go elsewhere. I saw FF247 go dead, and they didn't even do anything wrong.
